Lisbeth Steelsong |

Growling in frustration, Lisbeth charges forward with her greatsword at the unharmed one, hoping to finish the fight before the guards can get a warning out to others.
Charging Power Attacking Greatsword to hit: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23
Power Attacking Greatsword damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 2) + 7 = 14

Zinbah Boreol |

Zinbah unfurls the scroll and readies it to cast at the remaining guard should Sammy fail to immediately dispatch the lone guard.
Ready action to cast Sleep at the guard. Will DC 14. Keep in mind casting time is 1 round so it would take effect on Round 2.

Raymond K Hessel |

Wow, sleep is a full round cast? That's nuts.
Sammy, having closed the distance earlier, swings his clawed hands at the guard, but they get tangled up in the guard's clothing and armor.
Claw1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Claw2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Spooky GM |

The guard who is currently still standing wastes no time in grabbing his signal born and blowing like his life depends on it. In many ways it kind of does, even if there's little chance he will make it out okay even if help does arrive.
The bellow of the large instrument sounds out through the prison grounds, and any guards currently not slain or unconscious hear it loud and clear.

Morossa |

Morossa once more lets out some unladylike curses and again attempts to pound the guard.
Attack-unarmed-non-lethal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 <-- assuming flanking at this point with a 5' step
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
With all the commotion, her blow is well wide.
Would we get an AoO with either the drawing of the horn or him using it?

![]() |

Amanada looks EXTREMELY pissed off saying and growls "Curses on these Mitrian Bastards. To the hells with all this tip toe business. Kill this bastard and let us scale down the wall with a rope. We don't have the numbers to fight an entire prison."
Amanda takes her mace and takes a mighty swing at the guard who blew his tooter.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
that should hit as he does not have his shield out

Spooky GM |

Amanda's swing takes a lot out of the guard and Morossa's swift blow is able to finish him off, making him slump unconsious onto the floor.
You hear the commotion as four men brandishing their weapons begin their slow advance down the bridge.
Drunk Check Sarge: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Drunk Check 1: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Drunk Check 2: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Drunk Check 3: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Stone sober.
With them are two guard dogs as well.

Tatiana Konstantinov |

Tatiana follows the servant into the Cardinal's chamber. She stands in awe as she finally receives her first glimpse of his majesty. She curtsies deeply before the Cardinal, bowing her head in respect. She has intentionally parted her raven colored hair to reveal a pair of one inch horns, as a sign of pride in her demonic heritage.
"Master Thorn...I am your humble servant..." She remains bowed before her Lord, awaiting his response.

Zinbah Boreol |

Zinbah refuses to allow the signal horn to break his concentration, instead finishing off the spell and waiting for the group of soldiers, including the Sergeant to get into range (110' is the range so he will wait until they are in range) and lets loose his sleep spell.
Will save DC 14, affects lowest HD first.

Lisbeth Steelsong |

Just trying to get my head around this, so please bear with me...
We're in 3E right now, right? And the F squares go down to the C squares in 3D, which in turn, the F's in 3D go down to the C's in 3A, 3B, and 3C? And the group is coming up the bridge at 2? Sorry if that sounds stupid, but I'm having a hard time picturing what's going on at the moment.

Raymond K Hessel |

Raymond smirks. "Numbers? You want numbers? I can take care of that. Just lemme put Sammy back in his box for a minute. Besides, we got 'em in a choke point here and they don't know where we are. All they know is a horn blew."
With a snap of his fingers Raymond causes Sammy to shimmer and vanish.
Even if they were at a full run it would take around 3 rounds to get up to us since they're coming from across the bridge. Dismissing my Eidolon is a standard action, as is using my Summon Monster ability. I should be able to get 2 or more creatures out before they get to the roof.

Spooky GM |

Yes Morossa, that's correct. They were in the gatehouse playing cards and apparently not drinking a sip. And Raymond is right; you have three turns of prep. Any buffs or preparations should be made soon.
Guard 1 Saving Throw: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Guard 2 Saving Throw: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
The first two guards to approach are tripped up by Zinbah's spell, collapsing limply and falling asleep on the bridge. Blackerly howls an order to continue onward and forget about them, the fact that someone has cast magic deeply concerning him and alerting him to somebody positioned in a vantage point, likely atop the gatehouse.
Can you please fill out your profile with your statblock and backstory? Filling your Race line with similar statistics to everyone else would also be very helpful f!*&ing mandatory.

Raymond K Hessel |

As the guards approach, Raymond summons two twisted, fiendish looking eagles to replace his dismissed servant.
At the end of 3 rounds are they going to be on the roof with us or just at the gatehouse door?

Morossa |

Morossa looks to the others.
Lets get them up here. Can one of you bluff like a struggling guard? They are all male so I do not think Amanda, Lisbeth or I would be a wise choice. It we shoot from up here and miss, they might flee to get more help.
She then looks to Zinbah.
How long will those other three be asleep?

![]() |

Amanda gets out the bow and says, "indeed I do"
Amanda takes 2 shots at the non unconscious guards and uses the 3rd round to switch to mace and shield before they arrive
attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Amanda gives a solid hit from the first arrow but the second deflects off the shield of the guard harmlessly.

Tatiana Konstantinov |

Tatiana stays bowed low as the Cardinal speaks. When he dismisses her, she responds. "I will not fail you Lord." She turns and follows the servant out, awaiting her orders.

Zinbah Boreol |

Zinbah thinks for a second before replying to Morossa. "I do not thing Blackerly will buy any bluff we offer at this point. The magic I used would say the gatehouse is lost to him." As he watches Blackerly approach, he adds with a smirk "Don't worry. He is definitely going to make his way up here. His pride would refuse any other action. Plus he does not have a bow, so his other option is to get picked off by us as he runs away." His voice grows more relaxed, "Those guards will stay sleep for about a minute. I believe this will be over before then. Sorry about depriving you of some enjoyment but I am sure you can have fun playing with his pets!"

Morossa |

Morossa also picks up a bow. I believe there are at least 2.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Round 2
Attack-longbow:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Unfortunately, both arrows are well wide of their mark.

Spooky GM |

Yeah, each guard has a longbow and a quiver; it's the standard issue equipment.
As arrows sail down, Blackerly curses and howls to press onward, running alongside the still awake guards and the dogs as they try to chase their way up to the battlement. The former castle's design was such that the gatehouse could be held as a fortified position for a very long time with the bridge as a choke point. Trying to shoot back from the bridge would be suicide.

Raymond K Hessel |

Ok, so my order of things during the time the guards were crossing the bridge was - 1: Dismiss Sammy, 2: Summon eagle1, 3: Summon eagle2. By the time they get to the top of the stairs, assuming 1 round of movement after they reach the gatehouse, I'll have 7 rounds left on eagle1 and 8 rounds left on eagle2. One eagle will have been summoned directly beside each stairwell, and should attack the first enemy that comes up.
"I think you made the fat guy mad. If he don't like arrows, let's see how he likes a couple birds peckin' out his eyes."

Spooky GM |

Grumblejack's Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Zinbah's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Raymond's Initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Amanda's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Megirege's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Morossa's Initative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Lisbeth's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Enemy Initative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
That's a shame. Everyone but post.
Blackerly leads his remaining one guard and the dogs up the stairways, hoping to flank you from both sides.

Zinbah Boreol |

I am a little confused here...were there four guards in addition to Blackerly or just three guards? I saw Amanada take a bow shot that hit one of the guards after Zinbah's sleep spell took effect. The shot did 8 points of damage so is that guard still wounded?

Morossa |

Seeing the guards arrive, Morossa quickly moves up and decides that Blackerly needs something better than just ashes in his eyes, so she instead attempts to rearrange his family jewels with her knee.
Dirty Trick: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 <-- sickened for 1 round, +1 round/5 this beats the CMD

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 To sense where the attackers are coming from and position herself into a good charging position.
Amanda channels the might of Asmodeus, activating her Judgement as a swift action (Justice, +1 Profane Bonus to Hit). She then concentrates on the wounded guard first. While she would love to kill Blackary she wants to take out the wounded target first so that she'll have less interference when she fights her true foe. She yells "DIE MITRAN FOOLS!" and charges into combat taking a mighty swing at the wounded guard her mace crackling with dark energy.
Mace Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Raymond K Hessel |

As the guards come up the stairs Raymond's eagles screech loudly and set upon their faces, scratching at their eyes from above.
Eagle1 High Ground Talon: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14
Eagle1 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Eagle2 High Ground Talon: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24
Eagle2 Confirm?: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6
Eagle2 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Meanwhile, Raymond prepares himself to summon another creature as soon as one of his eagles falls. Readied action, use my Summon Monster SLA to summon another eagle if one of mine dies.

Lisbeth Steelsong |

Sorry, was catching up yesterday with some old friends.
Lisbeth squares off with Blackerly, sneering at him, "Good to see you again, tubs. Quite the security force you've got here. I'll have to change it, I'm afraid, when I'm in control, though. So we don't have another fiasco like this. You understand, I'm sure. Hope you made enough money skimming off the top, because it's quitting time for you, now." she finishes with a roar, swinging her greatsword with all her strength at the man.
Swift action to intimidate (demoralize) (omen trait) vs DC 10 + targets HD + Wis Mod: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Hrmph. Either really good rolls or really bad rolls. Nothing in between!

Spooky GM |

Tomas howls as Morossa sets upon him with her knee, pitching forward slightly in pain. The eagles peck at him as he tries to grip his sword and shield harder, one of them getting him from the side and making him even more afraid. He is clearly not a man of great courage or conviction. It's only worsened when Lisbeth swings her greatsword at him, cleaving down into his arm and making him fall to the ground, howling in pain. "Don't kill me," he screams, only to try and drive his longsword into the Antipaladin's gut.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Amanda's mace strikes down onto the injured guard's shield, and he responds with an attack of his own.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The dogs are smart enough to sniff around, picking up the magic of the man likely responsible for the summoning of the eagles, and assail him rather than his birds.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Morossa |

Seeing the blows land, Morossa swings at Blackerly with a fist, before at the last moment kicking out at his knee hoping to distract him so that Lisbeth's big sword can take him down. (Aid another with color).
Attack-aid another vs DC10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 <-- extra +2 assumes flanking

![]() |

Amanda growls in pain from the counter attack and changes her offensive enhancement into a healing enhancement, healing herself 1 damage (Switching Judgement ability to fast healing 1). She growls at the guard, "Your attempts at slaying me shall be in vain. I have the might of a true god behind me fool! Feel the wrath of my god!"
With that she takes a step back (5 foot step) and casts Daze uttering wicked curse on the guard. DC 13 will save or he loses his next action.

Lisbeth Steelsong |

Wincing as the blade enters her gut, she immediately grins as Morossa kicks his knee out from the kneeling guard captain (or whatever he is...), "And now you meet your false god!"
Greatsword Power Attack to hit: 1d20 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 22
Just to be clear, the bonuses are her normal attack + prone target + aid another + flanking. Subtract as needed, please!
Greatsword Power Attack damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 3) + 7 = 11

Zinbah Boreol |

Zinbah smiles at the efficiency of the party in dealing with Blackerly. Perhaps you have not heard of the saying 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...' A good education for you now I would say.
He looks at the guard dogs moving towards Raymond. Looks like he needs my help here. Putting away the scroll, he readies to cast another spell while the dogs are distracted.
Move into position and cast Burning Hands at the dogs while avoiding Raymond. Any creature in the (15' cone) area of the flames takes 1d4 ⇒ 2 points of fire damage. Reflex save DC 14 for half. Zinbah does not care if the eagles are caught in the effect as they have Fire Resistance.

Raymond K Hessel |

Raymond winces as the dog bites into him. "Filthy mutt! I got more friends, you know!" he says as he takes a step back and summons another eagle into his newly vacant space. The new eagle immediately sets upon one of the dogs with talon and beak as the older eagles do the same to the guard.
Eagle1 Talon1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 Eagle1 Talon2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Eagle1 Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Eagle2 Talon2 Confirm?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Nope.
5ft step away, use another summon monster. Let the eagles tear into everything with full attacks.

Spooky GM |

Lisbeth's swing is enough to put an unceremonious end to the corrupt and coward Sergeant, whose face flashes with shock and disappointing as he falls flat onto his stomach, limp and lifeless.
Between the flames and the assault from the eagles, one of the dogs whines and collapses, the scorched flesh being pecked at forcing it down. The other continues to fight to its last breath, conditioned to be merciless. It turns its attention to the birds, which are now the more immediate threat as they threaten to pull him apart.
Dog Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Grumblejack whom I forgot to have act last turn, my bad gets behind the now dazed guard, deciding that the makeshift weapon was slowing him down, instead swinging his fist down furiously at him. "Grumblejack not let you kill all the soft 'uns. Grumblejack need kill too."
Grumblejack Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 = 18

Morossa frowns as the inquisitor continues to use deadly force when it is clear that the battle is won.
Leave them alive if possible. We are prison escapees, not wanton murders. At least, that is what I wish to be viewed as.
