Common clothes in each PC's size
Just re-read that part about the contents...you did let us know about the veil, right? If so, Robin would kindly request her clothes, then enter one of the the empty cells, close the door, burn her rags(and any remains of urine on her), then dress up in new proper clothes
At Hekate's speech, Robin lifts the bucket, points at it with two fingers and then moves them across her throat in a swift motion.

After drinking Ardra's potion, Grumblejack looks significantly healthier. He's not back to full form, but it's a definite improvement. He grins at the Tiefling. "Now Grumblejack just needs his bashing stick. No worries. Grumblejack can cause plenty of merry mayhem without it, though."
Based on the sounds coming from below, there's probably a pair of cooks working in the kitchen at the moment. A man and a woman, judging by their voices. You can also smell food - real food, as opposed to the slop the guards would normally have fed you - being prepared.
Ekkehardt
Grinning at Robin's movements, Ekkehardt nods his head in understanding and approval.
Big bad Bear man...I like that. SO, the cooks, do we wish to gain
information from them or silence them? Climbing down the fireplace would let use move unseen and gain the element of surprise. I have some skill at climbing, but I would not be quiet. Nor, I believe, our two large...allies. What action do you propose?
Boreas Summers
Boreas would have taken the chance to change into a set as well. Something grey and drab.
I am NOT going to go down a fireplace and into a bowl of soup! You are not cooking me up that easily!
He leans in a bit towards the fireplace. Hmmmm.. Smells good. I did not realize how hungry I was, what with all... That. that has happend...
But.. I could probably go around, catch them crosswise with you guys...
If.. If some others would go with me?
Boreas is incredibly uneasy. While on one end, getting away from this group would be preferable, he didnt want to take his chances on his own in an entire prison with a few murdered guards just up the stairs.
Do we know of a way to get to the kitchen from going around? Heck how much of this prison layout do we actually know?
Robin Weaver
Robin seems restless and prepares to follow whoever moves on first, through stairs or chimney(or any other way). Clearly, she's on edge, but probably not interested in rushing ahead.
Ardra Pain de Veau
Ardra takes stock of the assets around her. She purses her lips and exhales.
Going down the chimney's a no-go. I just don't think we have the resources as a group to split up and have those groups be successful. I suggest we check out what's outside that door and make our way out systematically. We're bound to capture someone we can interrogate sooner or later
So saying she listens and smells at the door
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Ardra Pain de Veau
there don't seem to be any objections, so yes
Ardra motions for everyone to wait at the top of the stairs as she sneaks down to scope things out
stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Robin Weaver
Robin waits at the top of the stairs, staring intently at Ekkehardt, ready to start moving at a moment's notice.
He seems a trained warrior...if something happens below, he will react instinctively, and I will learn about it...
Your Benevolent Dictator
Map's been updated. Place yourselves as desired.
@Ardra: The stairs lead down to a small empty room with a single door. Cracking it open slightly, you see a long hallway with doors on the eastern and western walls. There's also a set of double doors at the end of the hall, guarded by a pair of guards.
Also, Grumblejack will pretty much do what you tell him to as long as it's not obviously suicidal. He's not too bright, but he's still smarter than your typical Ogre.
Boreas Summers
At the bottom of the stairs Boreas will ask Ardra about whats on the other side in as hushed a voice as he could, as the cold started to seep forward and outward through the opening in the door.
A few degrees drop in tempature should NOT give our position away, at worst just give them a chill down their back.
Assuming Ardra tells them that there are 2 people at the end of the hallway;
I could freeze and incapacitate one of them without killing it, if we wish to interrogate it, IF someone can take out the other. We could both act at the same moment when the door opens to give us a good shot.
The Cold: 2 = 2
Ardra Pain de Veau
at the top of the stairs she explains the situation, Boreas, if you can do what you say than by all means. We'd need to take them out quickly, however since there could be more guards behind any one of those doors who will join the fray the moment they hear that their comrades are under attack. Ekkehardt, Grumblejack, between the two of you I can't imagine you should have any trouble dispatching the second guard swiftly while the rest of us cover the doors and take out anyone who tries to enter the fight after the fact
Boreas Summers
Alright. I will take out the one on the right, and incapatate him so we can question him after. Is there anyone who is good at that? (Ardra perhaps? -_^)
Who will take out the other?
Boreas positions himself just behind the door.
Robin Weaver
I could, technically, sling fire at the other, again. But want to give other people some time to shine, too. If no good alternate option is found, I'll try and burn that one, too.
Also, regarding questioning, Robin does have intimidate(which will get boosted significantly @Level 5), so I can help with the interrogation...guess the prospect of being burned alive is sufficiently scary for most
Ardra Pain de Veau
I'm hoping to reserve some our magical resources. You've already burned through almost half your SP's, same with Hecate. I have all of four bombs and 10 minutes worth of mutagen and no extracts and this escape scene is a bit of a slog. I'd like our melee characters to take on as many of these small fries as possible. Hopefully, Ekkehardt will be able to post again soon and we start this next challenge.
On the other hand, I don't want to prescribe how this goes just because I have a few ideas. Anyone who wants to do something or suggest something should give it a try
Robin Weaver
I only spend SP for orbing or empowering on the fly. I can sling normal ranged touch attacks that burnify things for free...so SP is not an issue there. If I have a full round, I can even empower them by increasing casting time...since we only want to hit a single target, it's a very valid option if needed.
Boreas Summers
Alright. Let me be the one to get this rolling :)
Boreas lifts up his hands and feels the cold creeping into his fingertips. It was going to be a cold one...
Alright Ardra... Open the door in 2...
At a silent one, Sandra throws open the door and Boreas thrusts out his hands...
initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Do we need this?[/dice]
The Cold: 2 = 2
[ooc]Move action to maintain the cold, held standard action. when the door opens Boreas will Create Water around the left Guard and then Freeze it (2 SP), attempting to immobilize the guard.
.
.
.
At the end of the hallway the two guards are idly chatting to each other when one notices the door at the far end fling open. Distracted, he fails to even notice the dark cloud that had formed within seconds above his head. He did notice however, when the cloud dumped water all over him then almost immediately when his boots froze to the ground, the ice climbing up his body rapidly as he once again looks up in horror, freezing completely in that position.
DC 16 Ref save or be frozen in 1' of ice and take 1 cold damage.
Guard Ref: 1d20 ⇒ 3
I am not really sure if we are meant to do as much as I did, but this should allow us to move forward. Anyone else that needs to can take the same readied action when the door opens :)
Robin Weaver
Robin steps towards the opening, carefulling looking for any signal horns on the guards. If either of them touched his...flames were dancing around her fingertips.
Same action for Surprise round(single action) and regular round(if we win init), regular round including a move a bit closer => Ready action: If one of the guards takes his signal horn, he is attacked
Surprise: Ranged Touch Fire Blast: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Regular: Ranged Touch Fire Blast: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
I think both attacks seem to miss, so I doubt they'll need to make a save vs catching fire...
Hecate Reeve
Hecate points and her servant Bathalazar charges the guards, swiping at them with reach.
Slam attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Ekkehardt
Suprise round, move action 30'.
Moving in a deliberate measured pace, Ekkehardt advances on the guards.
You do not have to die, you know. I am willing to tie you up and let you survive this, you could go home to your loved ones or a bottle, what ever makes you happy. Throw down your weapons or I will kill you.
His tone is even, smooth, polite in fact, as if they were discussing what wine to have with dinner.
Your Benevolent Dictator
Back from the cruise and feel great. Burnout's been allayed for the moment. :-) Also, I've moved several of you around on the map since these are 10ft squares. Doublecheck the ranges of your abilities. ;-)
The guards jump in surprise as a mass of dangerous escapees appear. Despite their obvious fear, these men are nothing if not loyal, and they charge forward, swords drawn. Before they reach you, one of them is suddenly encased in ice! His partner's surprised shout is followed by cries of alarm from your right. The eastern door opens, and you see a trio of guards leaping to their feet. Unarmored, they're clearly off-duty, but they're bound to assist their comrades by any means necessary.
Everyone gets a full round of actions now.
Robin Weaver
I meant to say that unfortunately, I already posted an action for the regular round in case we won initiative. Alas, it seems they did not even need a horn to call for reinforcements, which kind of invalidates my action...yet again, Robin has no way of knowing the other guards are close and alarmed...but she also has no clear shot at any of the guards...so, yeah, need to delay until our melee guys did their thing and then see if I can do something useful-
Perception to see body language of guards giving away clues regarding the reinforcements, or read lips in regard to their shout.: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 Robin's oblivious to the presence of more guards incoming.
Ardra Pain de Veau
With more opponents on the move than had previously been reckoned for, Ardra suddenly realizes she has failed to arm herself and pulls both dagger patches from the veil.
double move and done
Hecate Reeve
Unsuited to physical combat, Hecate hangs back, letting Bathalazar do the dirty work.
The large devil-skinned being grins and thumps one of the guards.
Slam attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Slam attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Ekkehardt
Oh, look! A 5' Step and I get a full attack! Hi! Let me bring you a lovely gift of DEATH.
ClawPA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Claw Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
ClawPA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Claw Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
BitePA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
ClawPA, confirm crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Claw Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Calmly moving forward, Ekkehardt attempts to rip the life from his foe.
One savage blow from his claw lands on the guards neck and is quickly followed by a brutal bite.
Spitting the rent flesh from his mouth, blood covers his face, neck and chest.
Then, he laughs loudly with an unholy glight in his eyes..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YOU ARE WEAK AS IS YOUR GOD!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!I WILL BUILD AN EMPIRE ON YOUR BROKEN BODIES!!!!!!YOUR CHILD AND ALL THAT FOLLOW WILL SERVE THE WILL OF MY GOD AS WELL AS MY DYNASTY!!!!!! DIE YOU WEAK FILTH!!!! I SEND YOU TO YOUR PITIFUL END! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
Robin Weaver
Good thing I'm deaf ^_^ I would likely consider that mega-lo-maniac ranting of a madman. Little do we know yet that we will build an empire on their remains...right now, Robin is just hoping to make it out of prison and regain her freedom ;)
Ardra Pain de Veau
Ardra's eyes go wide and her mouth falls open at the grotuitous bloodlust of her companions, but quickly regains her composure.
Your Benevolent Dictator
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Grumblejack Turn: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Break Ice DC 16: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Ekkehardt shreds the closest guard, leaving bloody chunks of flesh scattered about the area. Bathalazar pounds the other, frozen, guard and inflicts a grievous wound. The guard thrashes about frantically in an attempt to get free but succumbs to the numbing cold shortly thereafter. As the other guards begin to rush through the door, the first one is flattened by a pair of powerful punches from Grumblejack, leaving him unconscious and bleeding in the doorway. His two companions draw to a hesitant halt, unsure of how to deal with this gang of highly-dangerous criminals.
Ekkehardt
5' Step full attack on the guard south of me, if he goes down remaining attack on the next guard
ClawPA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Claw Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
ClawPA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Claw Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
BitePA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Quickly taking advantage of the new guards indecision, Ekkehardt closes on the nearest one.
A powerful blow from his claw slams into the guard, cracking ribs moving him slightly off balance. A savage bite to the face cracks his skull, leaving part of his face hanging from Ekkehardt maw.
Spitting the flesh at the remaining guard, he chuckles.
Are you next, fool? MAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!MITRA, YOUR SOLDIERS ARE FALSE AND WEAK!!!!!!MAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Moving things along...
Dead Guards
Longsword x5
Chain Shirt x5
Heavy Steel Shield x5 (emblazoned with the Mitran sun)
Leather Club x5 (treat as a sap)
Longbow x5
Arrows x100
Small Key x5
Room 9
This is clearly a barracks where off-duty guards relax. Aside from a few cots and some locked wooden chests, the room is empty. The silver keys you've been finding on the guards fit several of the locks on these chests. (contents to come later this evening)
Room 11
This room houses a well-stocked kitchen and pantry. The massive fireplace is lit, and there's meat roasting over the fire. Scattered around the room are a half-dozen large knives (treat as daggers) and a long meat cleaver (treat as a shortsword). There's also enough prepared rations to last for at least two weeks. More importantly, however, the kitchen is occupied by a pair of elderly peasants (a man and a woman) who are currently cowering in a corner. When they see you, they fall to their knees and beg for mercy.
The two hidden rooms and the westernmost door are locked, and none of your keys fit. The more perceptive of you can faintly hear snoring coming from behind the westernmost door.
Saranda Damusil
Wiping off the blood, Saranda picks up one of the leather clubs and all five keys that were on the dead guards.
"No fetching gold, piss poor," she says as she walks over the corpses and into the next room.
"Begging for mercy I hear."
Your Benevolent Dictator
Contents of the various chests
- Ink, quill pen, and a journal that details the Sergeant's regular gambling sessions. There's also an underlined word: "Hesterfield"
- A small coin pouch (6gp in miscellaneous coinage)
- A bottle of fine whiskey without a label (worth 25gp)
- A set of peasant garb, two decks of cards (one regular, one marked), and 12gp in mixed coinage
- A well-written love letter to 'Michelle' and a sapphire engagement ring (worth 100gp)
- A large collection of letters from 'Ma and Pa'
- A masterwork lute (worth 100gp)
- A dozen homemade cookies carefully wrapped in wax paper labeled 'From Lil'.
- A collection of cheap, tawdry, crudely-printed books about dashing heroes, derring-do, and amply-bosomed damsels prone to fainting and outdoor bathing
- A small coin pouch (3gp in mixed coinage)
- A traveler's outfit, a finely-made pipe (worth 5gp), and one pound of high-quality shag tobacco (worth 2gp)
Robin Weaver
Not ultimately interested in looting this place, only in getting revenge on the Sergeant and getting out of here, Robin will stand guard over the 2 workers, to be interrogated by someone, blocking their way to the exit, and playing with fire(literally).
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 They already do cower, but we don't want any heroics here do we...edit: alas, it seems Robin is a bit too young-girl playful...probably makes an intimitating duckface thinking that looks good -_-
Hecate Reeve
Hecate grabs one of the cookies: she may be starveling-thin, but she has the appetite swings of a junkie and right now she has the munchies.
She looks at the servants, begging for mercy. She's not sure they'll find much, but she shrugs. "Hello. What's your names? And, um, can you tell us anything useful about how to get out? Useful is good right now. Please don't be useless, or you really will be in trouble." She'd rather not kill them. But Ekkehardt's hands are already dirty and she doubts he'll worry about 2 more.
She looks at them anxiously, waiting to see what they can say.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Ekkehardt
Ekkehardt grabs a nearby liquid, pouring it into his maw he gargles it and then spits it and the remains of the guards out.
Kneeling next to the cowering cooks, he gives them a friendly look.
I would be very honest with the girl, and speedy in your answers. I have no interest in your lives if you can be helpful. If not...
Diplomacy, Aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Your Benevolent Dictator
Normally, none of your attempts would be particularly intimidating, but the fact that you just slaughtered an entire platoon of guards with assistance from an Ogre and a LITERAL DEVIL means it's not at all difficult to make the cooks spill their guts.
The door on the kitchen's east wall leads outside to a garden. The main gate is locked and guarded by a pair of sentries. They know the cooks by sight, but unidentified people need a verbal passphrase. More guards (with dogs) patrol the grounds.
Robin Weaver
They know the cooks by sight? Hm. which one of these crazed fellas is going to try and wear their face skin like a mask?...
Robin is pondering important questions, blocking the exit, when she feels her stomach grumble(well, the others could probably hear it, too).
With all that happened, I fully forgot how hungry I am...they didn't really feed us anything worthwhile...and we ARE in a kitchen, with cooks...with no idea when our next meal will be-
Swiftly moving to the cooking utensils, Robin picks up a laddle, then approaches one of the two cooks, holding it out to him/her, pointing at the cooking pot, while longingly looking at the roasting meat.
Robin Weaver
Having forced the cooks to feed them and pack them lunch, Robin walks up to the next closed door, looking at the others questioningly.
How much longer do they mean to entertain themselves with these servants...we need to hurry...probably this whole place is alarmed by now...
Robin Weaver
The doors to the hidden rooms are locked. There is an unlocked door in the kitchen's east wall (not visible on current map).
They may be locked...but...are they fireproof? - Just in case nobody with a lockpick decides to try their luck. (Or, we could simply head east from the kitchen)
