You both have excellent reading comprehension. I actually haven't read the HiG thread, but I've always liked the LGBT friendly attitude that Paizo projects, and thought I would introduce a LGBT character in a limited capacity. If anyone is uncomfortable with this, or prefers their gaming to be free of sexuality, please feel free to let me know publicly or privately and I'll keep it PG, except for the violence, which will continue to be graphic and horrible, as I am an American.

Actually, I'm just happy to be around other LGBT friendliness. I get inundated with hatred against them up here in MT a lot, though its veiled behind a religious veneer of so-called tolerance (which, at least half of the time means passive-aggression, de-jure kind of discrimination, hence the term veneer).
One of my big brothers is gay, and I absolutely love him.
However, he used to try and get me to believe all sorts of outlandish things, so I didn't believe him initially when he came out.
>.< Mostly because he tried to get me to think he was a vampire a few nights prior.
Well, anyway, I'm super okay with this. :)

I don't have time to throat sing right now, but I do it in the car on the way to work. You have to work up to it; I can't do it for more than 10 minutes or so. I have found a small amount of time to work out and write some music, though; I have a film to score by May 25th or so, which is nuts.
Regarding LGBT characters, zero problems. I'd very much like to see Prop 8 thrown out by SCOTUS and my friends be able to get married. And don't worry, Chloe, change will happen everywhere eventually--plus, my state keeps sending people your way. :D

Just in case it's not obvious, I totally agree with Chloe and Sarusa and am more than happy to have this as part of this game. My partner (who is female) is bi and I've marched in my share of pride parades - we did one in DC years ago where we carried two signs that said:
WE
NOT
STRAIGHT
|
|
and
ARE
A
COUPLE
|
|
It only worked when we stood in the right positions, but it sparked lots of conversation. Having said that, I do prefer my games to be pretty light on sexuality - there's plenty of that on the interwebz. But a little flirting or sexy role-play can be fun and make things seem a bit more real-life.
Wow, getting those signs to work even a little in this post was a pain. In case it's not clear, they said "We are not a straight couple" when in the correct, uh, orientation.

No problem here. I'd like to say it's because I'm an open-minded progressive kind of guy, but the truth is that I'm really bad at recognizing that kind of stuff. I mean "should win an award" bad at it. :)
Tekk is still playing sleepy time, but feel free to nudge him if some goblins need killin'.

I just had an epic pillow fight with one of my sister's children.
Also I watched them for about four hours on high energy mode like only a relative without children can do.
I'm so tired I left half my stuff there...

Birthday party for my mum, and I saw an awesome play adaptation of NEVERWHERE, with my good buddy (and fellow Pathfinder geek) playing Richard Mayhew. (Neil G. Himself showed up to a performance the other night!)

Yup. Nice posting one and all. I'm trying to keep this game open for you guys, so if you'd rather go goblin hunting than track down the tax collector, that's fine with me. Whatever is more fun for you guys. Of course, there are consequences to delay, and I can't promise that all encounters will be CR appropriate.

Speaking of nice posts, GMPM - I love the descriptive paragraph in your last post! I just showed it to my son, who's sitting next to me and is an aspiring writer (though he's only 11) and he admired it as well.
Forgive me for geeking out, but it had great use of color, personification, nice sentence rhythm and variety - all in two lines.
And speaking of my son - I just bought PaizoCon tix for him and me! Anyone else going?
| Morin Tidelock |
Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch for us, but I get a lot of airline miles from work travel, it's not that far from SF to Seattle - and it's a birthday gift for my son, who has taken a very deep dive into Pathfinder in the last 9 months. Not sure how long he'll want to hang out and do RPGs with his dad, so I'm grabbing the chance while I can.
I've never done a Con before, so it'll be interesting in many ways. I'm pretty jazzed about it.

Good for you and you son. Seattle is awesome. Don't get me wrong, I love S.F., but Seattle is it for me. Even though six years have passed since we lived there, every few months I get a pang of melancholic nostalgia. Its awesome to be able to share that with your son. My eldest daughter isn't quite old enough yet to play, but she did want to check out a Harry Potter book at the library, so maybe there's hope.

Wow, thanks Morin. High praise indeed. I just like trying to give lively descriptions. I've always been a big reader, but I've never written anything of great length. Maybe someday.
Have a blast at the Con though. I've been to a Gen Con Milwaukee once, and one here in Houston last year. They're fun experiences, but they definitely require some stamina.
I didn't get back into gaming until after I had finished my JD in Seattle. I was right there and had no idea. That was a rough time for me though. I guess I never truly appreciated Emerald City while I was there. Maybe I'll go back some day.

Cons require Con? Hur hur.
I went to a con as a teenager, and lordy did I hate it. I played MechWarrior, which was good, but then I played some dude at OGRE and he cheated. Flipped his dice a certain way. I was too chicken to call him on it. Also, this was the era when it was nothing but certain male stereotypes (and only males) at these shindigs.
I would go to PaizoCon, though. That was then. (Similar experience when I went to a comic con--not THE comic con. Again, that was then.)
| Tekkis Smalltooth |
Agree with Morin, good stuff. :)
I've been to a bunch of Cons; GenCon, Origins, Winter Fantasy, DragonCon and a bunch of smaller ones around the SE US. Worked HQ, ran games, and even found some time to play on occasion.
GMPM is right, it's much more draining than you might think, but it's a blast. Hope you enjoy yourself!
Good news, Karo, just have to keep her on the Harry Potter train and away from the Cult of Twilight.
I'm working on my 13-month old by telling him stories about his food. The Kingdom of Corn is currently warring with the Bread Protectorate, so I put them into little military formations on his tray when he eats.
I also stage mini-food fights when Mommy isn't around.

This is, without a doubt, the best thing I've read all day.

And I just mean the gm and his gf. Everyone else there is typically awesome and not conflict prone.
:)
One of them is practically a living saint. She watches people's children for free, helps someone move at the drop of a hat, and still loves humanity after a year and a half of working in customer service at Walmart.
Oh, and she's good at cooking, too. Junk and health food. Her pico de gallo... Oh, man...
| Tekkis Smalltooth |
Sorry to cut it off before you got the chance to RP Tekkis. There will be other opportunities though.
No apologies, Tekk wasn't really interested in them anyway. Besides, my posting is spotty lately (as you know), so don't hold up on my account.
| Morin Tidelock |
Hello all - just wanted to let you know that I will be away Sunday through Wednesday, and in all likelihood without computer access the entire time. So I'll be jumping back in Thursday of next week - feel free to bot me as needed.

Hey guys, if anyone's got room for another game, I recently got involved in an old-school dungeon crawl where the dungeon is randomly generated as we go. We need a rogue to round out the party, so if you're interested, please check out the recruitment thread.
It's very tongue in cheek, with lots of jokes from what I can tell. Anyway, thanks, and now, back to your regularly scheduled game.
