Sevak Paradesee |

Hey, Sevak isn't *defined* by his bad luck. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

If I'm guessing right about where Zhèngyì's alignment is, it may be interesting when Sevak meets back up with Paq. XD

Sevak Paradesee |

Oh, of course not. :D
It is a pretty nice sword, though Sevak is technically not proficient with greatswords. I'm guessing that won't really be an issue, though.

Sevak Paradesee |

I will be traveling for two weeks starting tomorrow. I don't anticipate going more than a day at a time without Internet, but it is possible.

Sevak Paradesee |

Oh dear. XD

Sevak Paradesee |

Oh, dear. Again. XD

Sevak Paradesee |

Hmmm... how exactly does a fungal stun vial work? There was one in that pack the fort commander gave Sevak, but I don't see it in the PRD. And is the staircase big enough for the pixiu to get up?

GM Mowque |

Stun Vial- "Harvested from a rare fungus, these small vials emit a bright blue glow, and are commonly used in intertribal kobold disputes. When broken, a fungal stun vial releases a flash of bright blue light in a 10-foot radius and dim light in a 20-foot radius. All creatures within the flash area must make a Will save (DC 20). Creatures that fail are stunned for 1d2 rounds if they’re in the area of bright light, or are confused for 1 round if in the area of dim light.
Create: Craft (alchemy) DC 30"
It is dim light in there righ now, but there are ways to make it brighter.
With a bit of squeezing, it can fit up the staircase.

Sevak Paradesee |

Hmmmmm, let's see...
*Puzzles are tricky to get right. Don't worry that I failed on figuring this one (with the golems) out, I still appreciated trying.
*I liked being able to deal with the ghost differently than you'd anticipated.
*Maybe I'll have to quit searching for traps so much if you're going to add them in response. :D
*The pixiu was an interesting challenge. It's a good change sometimes to have creatures that need to be circumvented rather than fought.

Sevak Paradesee |

Ah, okay. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

I'm struggling a bit here with the next step. Sevak *wants* to not just sneak in and fireball a bunch of bandits, but I'm not seeing a good way for him to make an approach that won't get him captured or killed. I'm not complaining, just... thinking out loud, I guess, since I don't have other party members to talk these things over with. :D
Then again, him getting captured might actually *be* a way to get in an talk with them, but it seems like to big of a risk to take blind.

Sevak Paradesee |

Good question... it would help, I think. I'm struggling at planning these approaches alone, it would seem. Though to some degree it's just because this *is* a hard thing to do--I can't think of many successful historical examples of talking bandits out of being bandits.
Being Good is hard, I guess. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

I'd been hoping I'd come up with a plan, but apparently I'm bad at thinking of ways to negotiate with bandits. XD

Sevak Paradesee |

True. It could, after all, just be impossible for Sevak. If bandits were easy to talk out of their banditry they probably wouldn't have become bandits in the first place.

Sevak Paradesee |

I always have to copy-paste Zhèngyì's name to get the accents right. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

Yep! Though I am kind of hoping Sevak gets back more of his class features soon (or some more alternate class features--I'm curious where his magic is going right now...). I feel like he has to rely on his friends too much to accomplish anything right now. :D
Oh, the other thing I was thinking of bringing up--if Sevak pulls this off, he's going to want to stick around and make sure the bandits get reformed, most likely... but I as a player am not really interested in playing that. So it would be nice if there's something that either makes him think the bandits are in good hands or something that forces him to leave. (Though if he's going to spend some time with his, ahem, 'fellow' druid, I suppose he'll be able to stick around and still have something interesting going on.)

GM Mowque |

Yes, I have been thinking the same things. While it is fun to watch Sevak flail about, it is time for him to regain his abilities. You don't know it yet, but I have some wheels in motion.
But I have a few questions to ask you as a player, not a character.
1. What would be an alternate class feature you'd like?
2. Would you be open to getting a new (and different) animal companion? if so, what kind?
3. What arc do you have planned for Sevak once he is has completed his moral journey?

Sevak Paradesee |

Well, I've *suspected* you had some things in motion... :D
But let's see...
1) Hmmmm... there are a lot of possibilities here. I apparently want to play him as being competent in melee combat, so some things to help with that would be appropriate. Given that he's ended up being armorless, something like a monk's AC bonus would help him out a lot, or possibly some other similar AC boost. Other combat boosts like the warpriest's Sacred Weapon ability or things like that might be interesting, too.
I'd also like him to actually use his naga form, but for that to happen it's going to need to change quite a bit. :D I suspect that will be a longer-term proposition.
Obviously, since he was built as a full caster, some spellcasting would be appropriate for him, but I kind of like the idea of it being significantly altered, whether that means a different spell list or becoming a spontaneous caster or something else entirely. If he gets some powerful other abilities it might be appropriate for him to become a 2/3 caster like a magus or warpriest instead of a full caster.
Going further out... it'd be interesting to get some of the weirder abilities. Things like oracle revelations, shaman or witch hexes, the feral hunter's version of animal focus, things like that. Monks get a lot of random powers, too. Arcanist exploits and cleric domain powers could provide some ideas, as well. Basically, I like figuring out ways to make the kind of random little class features useful (though he should still have some substantive ones to do the heavy lifting).
2) I like Rasthiss, but it could be interesting to have a new animal companion. Particularly if it's something unusual, possibly something that's not technically an animal. Of the various normal animal companions, just about any kind of reptile would be appropriate for Sevak, though if he's heading into cooler climes a mammal or bird might work better for him. There's not any animal in particular that jumps to mind right now, though a dinosaur or maybe a roc or other large bird might be cool.
3) Who says he'll ever be done? :D
To give a better answer, while I imagine he'll be feeling more confident about being on the path of good here in a while, it will probably take him a long time to really feel like he's really reformed.
As for where he'll go and what he'll do... I think he'll be seeking a more clear-cut battle between good and evil next. I'll have to look over the Dragon Empires Gazetteer again and see what strikes me, but after the murky situation with the bandits he's going to want something where it's pretty clear what the good thing to do is.
...whether or not he finds such a situation, though... ;)

Sevak Paradesee |

Feel better and have a good trip!
Oh, and let me know if you want any clarification on my ramblings.

Sevak Paradesee |

I look forward to it! We'll see if Sevak does something unexpected again.

Sevak Paradesee |

Hmmm... I wonder if Ultimate Wilderness will have anything that might be useful/interesting for Sevak.

Sevak Paradesee |

A few times--guided tours in caves like to do turn off all the lights once, and there was a time before cell phones that it actually worked. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

Hmmmm... curious what may happen with this Weird...
Did the bandits have any animals?

Sevak Paradesee |

It's funny how leaving the corpses unburied doesn't feel wrong until you know there's something that wants to eat them.

Sevak Paradesee |

Well he does seem to get himself into unusual situations. Now I'm going to have to make a character who makes a point of buring dead humanoid enemies after battle, though. XD
For a little while I was actually wondering if the Weird was a possible replacement 'animal' companion for Sevak, but I rather think at this point he wouldn't even consider it.

Sevak Paradesee |

Indeed. On both counts. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

He's trying to be a *little* bit more cautious this time... but yeah, pretty much. :D

Sevak Paradesee |

Indeed, hopefully it's enough.
