I have no problem if you would like to shift this to something else for 5E, especially of you are not enjoying it. Just let me know if we need to rebuild PCs or keep them the same.

Guys,

I'm gonna come out and be honest with you. I haven't been enjoying this module as much as I thought I would. I did enjoy the first half, but the second half has really been just a slog for me. I looked over at the second module in the series and it honestly looks like more of the same for me. In my opinion, gaming is really about having fun, and I'm not with this one. So, my proposal is simple. I'd like to run something else. Preferably something in the module/ap range that is produced/published by Paizo or TSR since they keep their stuff balanced and generally pretty good quality.

Thanks for hearing me out.

I kinda got that sense. Thank you for being honest with us. Take some time and think it over. I am in no rush. I kind of have my hands full...

Something new is not a problem...especially if you can weave it into the ongoing story. Maybe move into something like the "A" series?? or parts of it?? Maybe we find slaves on the ship and link it to the slaver's compound..or something like that...whatever would be fine with me however.

How about a funhouse dungeon, like this! ^_^

It uses the D&D next rules, but still works well, and you have all the monster stat blocks right there! Of course, some of us may die... but it is pretty short and loads of fun! ;)

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

I think the DM is looking for something with some more substance, like an AP, or long module.

Rappan Athuk! =)

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

Bad experience with that one on PbP.

Male High Elf Wizard 4; AC: 12/15 (Mage Armor+DEX); HP: 26/26 Temp HP: 0/0 Passive Perception 13; Init +4; Saves: STR -1 DEX +2 CON +2 INT+6 WIS+3 CHA+0 HD 4/4, Spell slots 1:4/4 2:3/3, Insp:0

I figured Rappan Athuk might be a bit too crazy anyway. :)

So are we thinking stay old-school, maybe something more modern?

For the newer 5E adventures, I'm playing Curse of Strahd, which is a lot of fun, but I haven't really looked at the others yet, apart from knowing they're mostly adapted from 1E.

I know of some of the Pathfinder APs by reputation only. But there's one with pirates and another with Baba Yaga and a couple horror APs that all sound fun.

Maybe we take the ship and sail off to the Isle of Dread?

I am still preferential toward modules, myself. I am currently playing Curse of Strahd in a face-to-face game, and Out of the Abyss on the EnWorld messageboards. I am running Storm King's Thunder in another face-to-face, though really I have piecemealed it for my Forgotten Realms campaign that started with Legacy of the Crystal Shard.

But whatever you guys feel, I will see if I can swing something more in depth...

Encounter Map

I own *most* of the Paizo APs either in book or pdf form. Mostly PDF because I have limited space (wives do that). I have CoS in book form and am running it here.

I don't mind buying stuff. However, a superdungeon sounds like no fun for me at all. I like NPCs with which to interact and "play" as.

The APs that would lend themselves to a 5E treatment the easiest imho would be
Rise of the Runelords
Giantslayer
Serpent's Skull
Carrion Crown
Skull and Shackles
Shattered Star
Mummy's Mask

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

I would up for any of those with the exception of Skull and Shackles or Rise of the Runelords. I have played and DMd those too many times to make them interesting.

Male High Elf Wizard 4; AC: 12/15 (Mage Armor+DEX); HP: 26/26 Temp HP: 0/0 Passive Perception 13; Init +4; Saves: STR -1 DEX +2 CON +2 INT+6 WIS+3 CHA+0 HD 4/4, Spell slots 1:4/4 2:3/3, Insp:0

I've had my eye on Carrion Crown for a while.

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

I am game

Encounter Map

Carrion Crown's haunt mechanic *might* present me with some issues, I'd probably just make them "traps"

However, I own all the pdfs and I've never run it. So if that's the one you guys would want I too am game.

male variant human (Bakluni) | cleric 3 | hp 26/26 | AC 16 (14 w/o shield; 12 w/o shield of faith) Passive Per 12 | Init +0 | Saves: Wis +4, Cha +4

I'm gonna pass. Wasn't looking for long term. Got a lot on my plate anyway. Thanks for running, man!

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

So, are we turning this to Carrion Crown, or are we calling it? If you want to call it, then please remove it from the boards.

Encounter Map

Well, its pretty much just you and Kirian that are interested.

How do you guys feel about The Dragon's Demand. It's a little shorter in length than an AP but similar in length to the series we were going to run here. I read through the module and it would be pretty easy to convert over to 5E.

If either of you are interested I'll set up a thread to recruit a couple others.

Male High Elf Wizard 4; AC: 12/15 (Mage Armor+DEX); HP: 26/26 Temp HP: 0/0 Passive Perception 13; Init +4; Saves: STR -1 DEX +2 CON +2 INT+6 WIS+3 CHA+0 HD 4/4, Spell slots 1:4/4 2:3/3, Insp:0

I'm game for it.

Are you thinking continue with the same characters or start from scratch?

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

I am game as well. Do we need to modify the PC's?

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

Kirian: There is a cool Wizard rebuild in the new Unearthed Arcana you may want to look at if we are keeping these characters.

Encounter Map

Yes we would start again at 1st level and you could play these characters OR roll something totally new.

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

I think I will go with something new...maybe a Barbarian.

Encounter Map

Here is the new recruitment thread. You can make yourselves known there

Male High Elf Wizard 4; AC: 12/15 (Mage Armor+DEX); HP: 26/26 Temp HP: 0/0 Passive Perception 13; Init +4; Saves: STR -1 DEX +2 CON +2 INT+6 WIS+3 CHA+0 HD 4/4, Spell slots 1:4/4 2:3/3, Insp:0

Carric: Believe me, I've been going over it since yesterday. This is the UA I've been waiting for with both my favorite classes. :)

While I'm rather fond of Kirian here, if we're rebooting, I'm going for either a Warlock or a new Wizard. I've learned I'm pretty terrible with getting the right feel for martial classes. :/

Decisions...

Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3

Hexblade Warlock...you can do it! I am bouncing over to the Recruitment tjread and hiding this one...time to get my Barbarian going.
