Backstory:
Habbi grew up a simple lad from a Bakluni family in a largely Flannish town. Being stronger than most kids did little to deter the teasing that he faced growing up. That teasing only spurred him to stand up to bullies in town.
One day, a house fire raged in town. It spread quickly, running through the wooden houses like kindling. In one house, the family of Habbi’s chief rival in town was trapped and without a second thought, the young man broke through the door to save them. Almost overcome by the smoke and heat, Habbi kept running a prayer to Al’Asran, his peoples’ name for the god, Pelor, and suddenly it felt as if a wet cloak was placed around his shoulders!
After no less that trips back into the building, Habbi was able to save the entire family then collapsed, exhausted and burned. From that day, the entire town treated Habbi as a hero of sorts. Even his rivalry with the boy, whose family he saved, became much more friendly, now including love-interests, drinking, and sport.
