Apologies, I'm dragging behind updating Phedran's character sheet, but that'll only come into play for combat purposes - I'm good to continue for playing out the story, and surely I'll have things ironed out before the next encounter.

I am assuming we are doing the no rolling for HP system (d10 = 6 hp) since no one has rolled. I personally prefer the no roll system (though this character has been rolling like a monster) just wanted to make sure I did it correctly.

I also did the average, assuming that's okay with MacShack.
Also, for MacShack - any consumable gains (HP, spells, bombs, etc) I just added to the maximum, but kept my current totals. Unless we *DING!* to max on level up, or we handwave that by camping in the story, just let us know.

Hey, I got Sofia/Darren's message to us--I for one would be very happy to see Sofia again.
Fortunately, Sofia is just on reconnaissance around the back of the cave (MacShack didn't have us stumble across her body in a ditch... not that I have ever done that as DM...). And it sounds like our guy could use some good ol' roleplaying escapist fun.

If you guys want, I can step out so our group isn't over tuned. I can keep Karthurg ready if you need me again. I will stick around if you don't mind, but I understand that a too big of a group can make it less fun. Just let me know what you want!

I believe it's a reference to this fine installment of the brilliant Order of the Stick comic, though the joke might be older (and even the comic's pretty old at this point, I think the panel references 3.5 rules? 3.0?).

edit: confirmed, Order of the Stick started its first strip with the shift from 3.0 to 3.5, so there ya go.

Oh, I am more than okay with Sofia's return. Just getting around to catching up on messages now, so it was quite the welcome surprise. :)

It’s a real thing, organised by GM Redalia via the Flaxseed Lodge on the Messaging board. I’m GM’ing a Starfinder society scenario and the other players are experienced GM’s and wannabe GM’s. Showing me how to create campaigns, maps etc. I’d like to repay the faith of you all one day by GM’ing either a Pathfinder or Starfinder campaign :-)
| Karthurg "The Lurker" |
I just stated running the starfinder adventure path with a group of friends on the boards. If I didn't I was going to sign up for that school to. And I would love to play with you as the GM at some point. My game amount is full for now though. I am playing a PFS, SFS, GMing a long game, and this and I cant add another anytime soon.

I learned that I like GMing more on the boards than I do in real life. It allows me to set the scene more than I would get to in real life and think about what to do rather than snap decisions.

Yeah, I’m really hoping to create a cool canvas for people. Ive just started a regular Roll20 Pathfinder game which is quite fun. Definitely got the bug. :-).
By the way, I’m Darren in real life, 42, live in the UK. Pleasure to meet you.
Sorry I missed this, I am Dylan and I live in Ohio right now for graduate school but I am from the Buffalo area, New York.

Again, the beloved and wise comic strip Order of the Stick has a strip devoted to satirizing this very problem:
The relevant part is the last panel, where Vaarsuvius the Wizard says "But if I go down a level, I will lose my spell level." Because, for some unknown reason, everything is called a level in this game.
Your character level (one) and your access to level one spells have nothing to do with each other. Yep.
So if you go check out "Paladin" the class, you'll see that they have a list of "spells per day" on their big chart thing. You don't get any until character level 4--when you get (probably) one level one spell. Even though it says "zero" on the chart. Because even if you get zero spells, you get a bonus spell for having enough charisma.
Yep, it says zero but almost every conceivable paladin gets one. But not 'till character level 4. Rangers are the same way. Compare the chart to Wizard or Sorerer etc., you'll see that they get spells at character level one (at spell level one) and then get spell level two spells at character level three for the Wiz, four for the Sorc.
And the madness rolls merrily along. Hope that helps!

Ironically this was a discussion I had on Saturday when I played with my face-to-face group and a new player was playing a paladin. The partial spell caster classes get confusing like that but Hank explained it well. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Sofia realises she was just about to cave in Karthurg's skull because she looked at the map on her phone and just saw an orc. Luckily, she realised the error of her ways...or more specfically, the GM did. Sofia shoots Karthurg an apologetic look and shrugs her shoulders

Have a nice trip. If you are there for work, find time to enjoy the culture and if you are going to there for pleasure I hope you have a great time!

Hey crew:
I'm running a PbP campaign set in Frog God Games' famously brutal megadungeon, Rappan Athuk. We're just at the beginning, but one player has dropped out and another seems to be wavering. I'm hoping to find someone who is willing to post every day (or so) to fill in for the one who dropped, and who can hopefully inspire the less-frequent posters to get off their duffs a bit--any of you fine folks interested? I'd be happy to have any of you aboard! That goes for you too, MacShack. I thought I'd check before recruiting strangers to a campaign that already has some issues.
It might be fun to build some crazy narrative-integrated backstory that slowly gets revealed to the others as we play? That's optional, of course. And Rappan Athuk tends to kill a lot of characters, so maybe best if we don't start with our best ideas.

Sorry, my game load is pretty full. I am in this one, a Starfinder Society one, I run a Starfinder AP, and generally a pathfinder society (but have been off for almost 3 weeks... games have been slow). But thanks for the offer!
