There will be a plot which involves being sent out into the north to find mineral resources. I then intend to do something like Kingmaker in that your characters once they have established a mining colony will do their part to make sure it prospers and does quests to deal with threats or solve problems that may plague the efforts.

The Golemoid starts with the same gold as a fighter. The sniper rifle does 1d10 damage, but also has a scope on it that reduces the penalty for range by -2 so long as you use it in conjunction with an aim action. Also with an aim action precision damage (such as sneak attack or similar abilities) can be applied at any range so long as the aim action is done with the shot. Quick reload and alchemical cartridges would give you a free reload, but would up the misfire chance to 2 as alchemical cartridges are customized ammunition. You will have to decide to use that or use one of the other bullet types. These include.
Heavy shot: -1 to hit but +2 damage
Armor piercing: -2 ac to target but the bullet does one lower die of damage
There is also special Sniper bullets that give +1 to hit for every range increment beyond the first [up to a +4 but then it goes no farther]. The downside is they give a -2 penalty within the first range increment.

Would there be an opportunity for a Tiefling Arbiter?
I'm thinking he had been abandoned as an infant, and found by an Arbiter who was kind enough to take him in. Raised among the Arbiters, it was only natural that he take up their cause. Even with his dark taint, those that know him, trust him and know that he will have their back. I'm thinking maybe LG (but not Lawful Stupid. :) )

I am willing to take up to 6 players for this game. As for our new applicants:
A Goreaux would work well with this group. A mechamage, steamwright and a golemoid make a pretty good combo. The Goreaux also are the best mechamages in all of Aden as they have racial abilities that give them bonuses and have a high racial mod to intelligence.
As for a white tiger Ferran, sounds interesting but we already got a Ferran brute Golemoid and a Ferran predator Ranger, that is enough Ferrans. What would round out the group would be a divine caster such as a cleric, druid or oracle.
The tiefling arbiter could work except you would have to clarify on your origins. Tieflings before the darkfall were quite rare. The darkfall hit 10 years before this game so you Likey would not be a 1/2 nocturnal. Either you were born before the darkfall or were transformed into a tiefling due to nocturnal, demon or devil influence.
Currently we have:
Ferran Brute Golemoid
Ferran Predator Ranger
Elf Steamwright
Human Fallen
Unfortunately of the new classes only two have divine spells. The entomancer and the seer. The seer is not a great healer though as while some of their auras enhance healing, their divine spells are on the level of a ranger and don't arrive until higher levels. So a healer would round the group out nicely.

What would be a couple of acceptable origins of Tiefling born before the darkfall? Perhaps he was abandonded because his mother saw his birth as a bad sign or simply abandonded just because he was a tiefling born to a mother who had no idea her husband dealt with dark magics and demons?

There does seem to be a strong melee presence, so perhaps a Tiefling Cleric with the Healing domain fighting to prove himself to those around him that his appearance doesn't mean everything?

Tieflings as descendants of devils/demons are results of summonings could be either a bloodline of infernal origin or perhaps a magical mishap that cursed you in the womb with demonic energies. Generally before the darkfall, most demons/devils are the result of summoning rituals, perhaps by power hungry wizards seeking power or to enslave demons to their wills as servants. Few infernals entered Aden on their own accord before the darkfall, much in the same way as celestials. Elementals on the other hand were the more preferred means of summoning, much easier to summon and a lot less volatile than infernals, hence why I am allowing the elemental races.

if there is still room, I'd be interested in playing. I was thinking about a human Seer from the High Steppes. particularly, he would be a minor Kazan who's tribe was killed in battle with another tribe and was forced to wander.
I would focus more on his "force multiplier" aspect, and keep his fate abilities hidden.

could I get some info on the seer class so I can work on the mechanical side? fluff-wise, here is his background:
Description: Athen is a 6'5", 245 lbs. human with dark hair (so black it almost looks blue) and Emerald eyes. Athen is in excellent shape, and his body language shows that he is clearly used to having his orders followed. While he is devoid of any sort of scar, he does have the tattoo of a Yosa (Dire Bear in his native language) above his right eye.
History: The Kama Yosa (Stalking Bear) tribe has hunted the steppes since the time before time. initially just skilled hunters, the Kama Yosa tired of pursuing prey that lacked a challenge, and so took up the mantle of the warrior to hunt the most dangerous prey of all: Intelligent life. Within the tribe, each hunter specialized in a different form of life to hunt, so that they could pool their knowledge and make the tribe as a whole strong. The Kama Yosa existed this way until the darkfall, which ultimately lead to their extinction. Refusing to bend knee to any man, The Kama Yosa were wiped out by the numerous forces of the newly appointed Grand Kazan. surviving the disasterous battle with the forces, The Grand Kazan had the young Kazan (Athen) exiled from his homeland with nothing but a rusted dagger to defend himself. it was during his exile that, after being driven into a cave by a freak storm, that he had his first vision: himself drinking corrupted water and turning into a monster. avoiding drinking the water in the cave, Athen began receiving visions on a regular basis, which he used to stay one step ahead of the hunters who doggedly pursued him. Winding up penniless in Ionara, the young Kazan has been forced to take the first job that he was offered: leading a group of explorers north to search for untapped resources.
would that work?

Here's a small bit of Ja'vris' background concept.....
As he grew and his infernal heritage became more apparent, he found himself simply having to fight for every bit of respect he could get among the other children as well as the adults. This lead the Mother Superior to punch him into the Church's more martial areas, to serve both as a Healer and a Protector. In this way, she hoped to channel his feelings of anger and give him a way of proving to those around him that he was meant to be a part of the church.
When the church received a request for help in establishing a mining colony, the first name brought up was Ja'vris. Most members of the church thought it a good way to get rid of him, while the Mother Superior thought it an excellent opportunity for him to learn and grow into a role she felt he was destined for, that of a leader and warrior combined.

It looks good so far Arknight. The background looks OK Arknight and I will allow it. You probably work for the Church of All Saints in Carraway as those are the most common Arbiters in Aden. It could also be a source of your origins as the land was corrupted by an evil necromancer known as the Silent One in the past, making undead and other evils more frequent there.
As for the class, they get the following at level 1.
+1 BAB, Fort +2, Reflex +0, Will +2
Hit Die: 1d12
They have 4+intelligence modifier skills per level.
Strength is their NO 1 stat, followed by Intelligence (As many class abilities rely on intelligence on future levels). Beyond that Constitution and Dexterity are useful
At level 1 they get the Combat Expertise feat for free.
They also have Relentless. They add their intelligence modifier to all intimidate, sense motive and perception checks (in addition to any other modifiers)
their class skills are: Appraise, Bluff, Climb, Craft, Diplomacy, Intimidate, knowledge (All), Linguistics, Perception, Profession, Ride, Sense Motive, Survival and Swim.
They have the same weapon proficiencies as a fighter but also have firearms proficiency and proficiency with all shields (More specifically they use Kite Shields.)
Arbiters start with the same starting gold as a fighter.
The Kite Shield is a major item for an Arbiter. Its a step up from a Heavy Shield but a step below a tower shield. It gives +3 Armor Class but a -4 Armor Check Penalty.

Also the official pdf is available now from here. I'm looking forward to seeing my hardcover in the mail very soon.
