Vigar sniffs his soap and keels over.
It's make from skunk extract....to be used with rose extract......
Vigar Savage
Is the Spear a Holy Spear+2? Just to check.
Vigar Savage
OMG. I think I'm going to be doing something stupid.....
GMGhost1776
No, there are several ways to become mythic, but a descendant of Rodger of Rastar will become Mythic under the right the circumstances when swearing to the old code. By the way living up to the old code will also see a descendant of Rodger becoming mythic By my count Tassira and Rowan has each met 3 of the six requirements and Kariel 4. There are several other methods written into the campaign as well, one of which the party has known about since the will reading.
Vigar Savage
Wow. Rowan and Tassira has met 3 of the requirements already and Kariel 4?
Oh boy... Vigar has alot to work on.
*Edit Fainted when I saw the Gameplay thread. Now. It's woah. Just woah. Really woah. and er woah?
Vigar Savage
Ok I'm reading up on Mythic and may just go champion.
It seems that everybody else has a chance to go Mythic so I though I'll check with everybody else on what they're going in. I haven't given much thought on Mythic Levels assuming that we'll get to that in later levels.
Everyone's thoughts?
Also Krag, and Marrovak hasn't being on for quite some time so we maybe down 2 players.
Rowan Mikalson
I looked at it a lot yesterday, and I would go guardian or champion. Actually probably both, with dual path, if that is allowed (I know some mythic games don't). Basically I like the guardians abilities and they fit for Rowan, with things like knowledgeable guardian and the anti spell things it has, but I need maneuver expert and shatter spells from the champion line.
Champions seem a good fit for you character. The Magi stuff in that line does just as well for a bloodrager, and of course there is the barbarian things.
Kariel, Oracle of Korada
Hierophant seems like the most fitting for my character. ^^ I'm thinking about going for a Legendary Item (Staff) to match my character's appearance and provide more utility in combat, but I'm not actually sure how to go about choosing that... Hmm... maybe a modified Staff of Eldritch Sovereignty that's a little more appropriate for a Divine spellcaster, with the additional restriction that the wielder has to be able to cast spells of a given level normally before they can be used through the staff?
(i.e. if Summon Monster IX was kept, Kariel would have to be able to cast 9th level spells to use it, while Daylight would require the ability to cast 3rd level spells, etc.; that would prevent gaining spells far too strong for her level, while helping the item to stay appropriate for her throughout the game)
It's up to our GM, of course. XD If that seems a little much, I can certainly consider other options; I've never gotten to choose this type of thing before, so I'm not sure how items are normally selected.
Vigar Savage
I considered dual pathing but into Champion/Marshall or Guardian/Marshall mainly due to access to healing and support, later when I get into spells.
Kariel, Oracle of Korada
Well, I finished writing up the item I had in mind (complete with a selection of much-needed balance adjustments to make it more fair). That was actually rather fun. ^^ Failing the acquisition of that, I might have Kariel go for Display of Charisma instead and continue her role as a face for the team... either one works, really. XD
So, how has everyone else's weekend gone?
Vigar Savage
Pretty much routine for me as far as work goes.
Tassira Vantyev
Events-wise, it looks like Tassira's going to have some explaining to do with regards to the weapons Vigar & Rowan picked up.
Just waiting for Ghost to come back and move us along.
Vigar Savage
Yes, you can be sure that Vigar will be asking alot of questions.
Vigar on the other hand will have new purpose compared to when he didn't really have one.
It'll be interesting for Vigar to explain his vision and then learning more about who last owned the spear.
Rowan Mikalson
I was actually at Megacon this weekend on Orlando, FL. Had a blast.
So it went ok I guess.
It looks like we'll probably all be mythic as soon as the party realizes the change in Vigar and the nature of the Oath. The question is will any of us really notice the change immediately. Vigar had the vision, of course, but there wasn't any indication from Vigar's point of view of a change in power. And of course the remainder of the characters don't even know about the vision. We as players know the mechanics of our choices, but I'd think our characters would be surprised at the new and strange abilities, depending on how beyond normal they are.
Speaking of, Vigar, have you chosen your intitial abilities yet? As for me, I am going with Knowledgable Guardian with the Dual Path Feat with the Guardian as the primary and Champion as the secondary, taking the Absorb Blow and Sudden Strike abilities.
Vigar Savage
I'm taking Guardian primary and Marshall as Secondary surprisingly.
Dual path feat and I'm still looking through the path abilities.
Vigar would probabely seek out Rowan first then Tassira to ask about teh oath, spear and his visions.
Outwardly Vigar shows no no change though his behaviour might change somewhat as he rises from his current slump.
Vigar Savage
Hmmm I hope my post wasn't too over the top... It seemed like a good place to add in epic intervention when the rest of us come riding in to relieve the sige of the fort.
Sorta like When Rohan went to Gondor's aid.
Vigar Savage
Omake:
"We walk in the dark places no others will enter.
We stand on the bridge, and no one may pass.
We bar the way to the dark,
We bar the way to the wicked
Behind us sleep the just
the innocent
the worthy
We bar the way lest darkness fall"
"Say our name."
Chibi Vigar says: "Gate!"
Vigar Savage
I'm thinking light though.....
Or maybe Guardian.
Kariel, Oracle of Korada
Omake:
At Tassira's words, a surge of arcane energy flowed through her. Not simply the magic that was, but the magic that was meant to be... and in response to her words, a massive circle opened up on the ground beneath the zombies. They never had the chance to fall, though, for the Gate had been connected directly to the positive energy plane by the sheer force of her will. Raw energy shot through the undead and surged into the sky before the spell snapped shut, though it would be some time before any of them realized what effect the release of so much energy would have.
"...Right." Tassira said. "The answer was a Gate."
Another circle of positive energy exploded out of the ground in front of her.
"Gah! Stop it! Shut the gate, shut the gate!"
Fwoom! Fwoom!
Finally, she noticed what was happening... and from then on, Tassira made it her mission to spread positive energy around the world. And that, my children, is how enough power returned to bring the magic back and save our world from a doom we hadn't even seen coming... but the true story there is for another night.
Vigar Savage
I have a sudden vision of Rowan being Zordon and the rest of us being power rangers....lol
Tassira Vantyev
Kariel
That DOES sound like something that Tassira would do by accident... XD
Now I'm wondering if I can roleplay Tassira overcoming her Doubt drawback and removing it for good after this.
Kariel, Oracle of Korada
Well, I certainly hope that would be the right answer, because we're probably doomed otherwise. XD
Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate...
GMGhost1776
I screwed this up by trying to be clever.
Let me clarify a few things.
The voice that sounds like Rowans is Rodger of Raster's voice which you've heard in a dream or two. The words that are in italics sound as they are being read, off a book or something, both Tassira and Kariel have, despite the chaos of the night , had time to read the inscriptions found on the weapons used by the Order of Draco Knights in the cemetery.

Kariel and Tassira:
You are suddenly back in Granny Odd's shop as a memory you did not know you have plays out before you You aren't asking for right answers dearies, you don't even seem to know the right questions. Just because magic items aren't being created now doesn't mean that things created in the past don't still exist and can't be found again. There are things out there waiting to be found, at the right time for the right person for the right reason. The Twelve weren't meant to hidden away or lost, The Twelve bloodlines weren't to hide them or lose them but to use them in defense of the Empire, in the service of the people. Of course heirs to the old lines don't always know of the power in thier figertips. "Rodger" she says pointing at Kariel, "Rodger and Calinda" she points at Tassira, "Rodger, Calinda, and Gratz" pointing at Marrovak, "a one, a two, and three" she finishes. You don't even know that at the right time, right place, you just have to NAME what you need ... Oh dear you're not really following me ... maybe it's best you don't remember this for time being" The memory ends and no time has passed that you can tell.
So if I'm Marrovak's Twin, that makes me a three. (Random Musing)
Current Situation;
The temple is of Sarenrae.
I think what maybe needed is to either channel energy or cast light. Casting Light on the gates of the temple or calling upon Sarenae?
I would be grateful if someone can tell me where our party first heard of The twelve. I think it was either Tassira or Arean who learnt of it....
Thanks to Tassira, I'm copying this here.
Tassira has stumbled in part on one of the campaign's secrets. This particular secret is protected by a powerful magic that causes people to forget it if they stumble upon it or part of it. To connect "The Twelve" to weapons and remember it requires a DC 20 Will Roll with the following special bonuses
Scholar feat: +5
Wearing (on finger)Great House ring: +5
Imperial Army Veteran: +5
Conspiracy Hunter trait: +10If you fail the roll you may roll again when presented with new evidence.
History check:
Tassira you find this Journal, old but preserved by the Library’s magic, it seems misfiled.Inscription inside the front cover
To my daughter Tassira on her 18th birthday,
When I named you after my mother I never imagined you’d take so much after her.
I don’t know why you like this old thing so much but here you go.
Your loving fatherEntries that catches your Eye
Baron Rastar has raised taxes again, and many people are starving, losing their homes or both, mother says not to be rash but I know she’s been selling her books to buy food for the villagers. Something has to be done. Rodger
I can’t stand it anymore. I’ve heard of some men gathering in the forest, I’m taking my bow and going to join them. Rodger
It was a trap, the Baron’s arms men slaughtered the men at the gathering like hogs. I’ve never been so glad of my skill with a bow or all those books of mother’s on warfare that I read. I managed to save about 10 of the men just using things out of a book. To my surprise everyone is looking to me for what to do next, even men 30 years my senior. Rodger
Well it official, I’m a bandit and an outlaw. There are wanted posters with my name on them now, I’ve even been given a bandit nickname, “The Hawk”. Rodger The Hawk
It’s time to leave the Barony, it turns out that column of troops weren’t mercenaries hired by the Baron, but the King’s personal investigator a paladin by the name of Sir Giles Avergnon, he’s even brought shipments of food in his supply train for the people. Maybe if I hadn’t shot the Baron in the arm, killed his horse, and broken his leg in front of Sir Giles, I could of have turned myself in, opps.
Rodger the HawkI ended up at the Grand Oracle, and made friends with a strange group. Hakim of the Medjay, and his war dog Rasnesh, Calinda Alenkine, her bodyguard Li Bo, Antony DeAngelis, Faith Maridun an Oracle of Sarenrae and this snotty Elf girl Elwin. The Oracle of the Grand Oracle (that could get confusing) told us all that a wave of death was coming and we must stand together or the land will die. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. Rodger the Hawk of Rastar
Worshipers of Lamashtu had set up set up a temple to their dark goddess in the nearby caves, I’ve sketched in some rough maps of the complex. They had an entire valley filled with various tribes or hostile and evil humanoids. They had organized a system to raid the caravans, and were taking people for slaves, sacrifice, and food. We’ve finished them for now but I think this place is too attractive to stay empty for long. I noticed a location high on a steep hill that would make a good place to put a castle to protect the caravan route. Rodger the Hawk of Rastar
Today I’ve won my spurs, but as the youngest Paladin of the Order of Draco, I’ve been given a small group of arms men and assigned to a small keep by Alfar’s Gap, while the rest of the Order holds the pass against the undead hordes of Shador Tor. This vendetta of its master against Lord Bane will kill everyone on the continent as the two send waves of undead, demons, and devils against each other not caring what is in their way, which is just about everything. At least my old friends have come to my side. Sir Rodger of Rastar, Paladin of the Order of Draco
I am the sole remaining knight of the Order the rest were killed in the pass. When the horde came for the keep, I lifted up my family’s sword in anger for the first time since becoming a paladin. The sword shone forth with a holy light, and a voice rang in my head saying ”This one is worthy to rule” my men and my friends were inspired, and the undead actually broke and ran from us. Sir Rodger
The fools won’t band together although everyone knows standing alone will cost them their lives. The Selentines want payment for everything, the Storm giants are indifferent, the elves won’t trust the dwarves, the dwarves won’t trust the elves, and the Horse Lords won’t trust anyone. Only the Sirians and the Orcs are with me and neither one of them is happy about the other. Sir Rodger of Rastar
Faith arrived today, along with Calinda and Gratz of Kor. The three of them have taken control of the Horse Lords, the Sirians, and all of the Orcs respectively and have had me declared High King of the West by their peoples. I don’t want the job. I said Marshall of the West would be fine. Faith her eyes all white said ”Marshall and High King of the West it is there is no arguing with her when she is like this. Sir Rodger Marshall of the West
I went to argue with Elyas again for his support against Bane and Alumananx the vile, but he had died combating a trio of body snatchers that had invaded that Elvish school he had founded. I don’t know much else as I had to leave before I could investigate his private library and lab he kept there. Rodger High King of the West
Everyone has fallen in and is following my plan for finishing this long war, but we must have the Selentines assistance if it is to work. Their Emperor refuses to answer to any sort of King, High or otherwise, and swore he would only obey another Emperor. Faith has that look in her eye again, and after 30 years I know it means trouble. Rodger the nervous
Its over and no one will let me step down, this is a horrible job and I wish I was 16 again shooting arrows at the Baron, picking locks and stealing food to feed the serfs. If I’m stuck with this job there are going to be some changes. No more slavery, no more serfs, and I’m putting a castle along that caravan route. I’m also going to have 11 more blades like my mine forged to safeguard this land and to determine if someone is worthy of this throne that I’m stuck with. Sir Rodger the First of House Rastar, the Hawk, High King of the West, High Marshall of the West, Emperor of the Sword Throne, Paladin of the Order of Draco (I am not writing that all out again)
Vigar:
As you recite your oath, you feel a comforting hand on your shoulder and you hear three voices softly saying alongside of yours, one of the voices is quite close to tone and pitch as Rowan's: "A knight is sworn to valourHis heart knows only virtue
His blade defends the helpless
His might upholds the weak
His word speaks only truth
His wrath undoes the wicked."
As the oath is recited images of other places and deeds fill you head:
A teenager facing a horde of undead outside a small villiage with only a sword.
A tall man like creature with blue skin faces down a bar full of cretures, he wears a knee length leather coat, on which is pinned a silver star, in his hand is a strange weapon of some kind with wisps of smoke rising from the end.
In a dirty ally, in a mighty city, a small child crys in fright as she is menaces by an eldrich dog. But between the dog and the child flots a six inch pixie type creature with a thimble for a helmet and letter opener made of silver for a sword.
Bolts of energy rain down from flying craft in the sky. Where they hit people and things burn to a crisp in an instant but in the middle of the road with his hands stretched outward a young mage produces an energy shield which protects civilians
You can't understand the words but a talking squid like thing speaks to a crab like creature which recoils in pain.
A tall woman wearing not armor but a formal gown holds a katana two handed while standing over the body of her defeated foe.
"Till another needs its use it well"
Once you finish you realize that the spear wielding knight is resting in his grave holding the spear you used against the wight.
So far all the clues that I can gather from this campaign. Phew.....
Vigar Savage
True. I have it here so I don't have to go trawling the other group's posts.
Vigar hasn't got a chance to talk to Tassira yet. It's all these Zombies you see. Stops Vigar from having some quality time with his family.

The night before the The Silver Princess makes port the party dreams. The wild howls and rain comes down in sheets. Lightning strikes the ground repeatedly near where you are standing. The ruins of an elvish tree city lay about like a broken children’s toy or a shattered snow globe. Elvish warriors and people lay broken and bloody everywhere as undead and demons and devils strive against each other for the most part ignoring the dead and dying elves. Only near the river are their still living mortals as a thin line of elves and small band of individuals of other races protect what you know is the last ship as it loads survivors.
You all are among that band and you watch as your leader holds up his sword and says in a voice much like Rowan’s “No farther may you come I Bar the way.” A brilliant white light brighter than lightning sweeps outward and holds steady. Demons, devils, and undead that cross into the light burst into flame or crumble to dust, while all around you are renewed, restored and encouraged. Only one creature of darkness comes into the light. She seems human enough until you see the blood dripping down her fangs. Small bolts of lightning dance across her fingertips and up and down her arms. Her flesh constantly chars and then renews as she steps into the light stopping about thirty feet from you. She looks remarkably like Tassira.
“Hello Darling, still protecting the cattle I see.”
“Alonna, there’s no cattle here, just people trying to live their lives.”
“They’re flies, here one day, gone the next, even you, my sweetie, last no longer than the flash of a bolt of lightning to my eyes. I watched Tuma be banished at my Lord’s side per his desires and was there when the gates of Grey Port fell. No one will remember Haviel in time, Rodger, just as no one remembers lost Arcadia, or Perun, or Arth. Except for me that is. Have you thought about my offer?”
“Have you given thought to mine? Sarenrae brings not only light but redemption. She can help you choose to help, and to heal. You don’t have to live in darkness. No one is forced to live in darkness you can choose to be free. Alumananx is not a god nor will he become one.”
“He’s given me more power than you could ever believe. I think today at least I choose not to seek the path you lay at my feet. Take your flies and go from here Rodger. My troops and I shall see that Bane’s beasts do not interfere. Till we meet again my love.”
Another bolt of lightning and the dream fades away.

Raise it to the sky and call upon the power of Rodger or something.
Or maybe Thunder, Thunder, Thunder Cats ho!!!
Also Tassira, I think you're holding Rodger's Sword. As in his own sword.
Now I need to figure out the name of my spear.
GMGhost1776
Base power is Sun Blade, but it is a Mythic weapon, other abilities may/will be unlocked as time goes by and/or certain conditions are met.
For instance, at least one guy became Emperor because one of the Twelve found him worthy.
For now Tassira knows that in addition to a Sun Blade's normal powers it will let you channel your thunder staff ability through like a cleric would channel positive energy to harm undead.
Both knowledge of it being a Sun Blade, and its channeling ability she just instinctively knows.
