Hey, i acutally thought this one dead. I'm happy to see i'm wrong.
What should Ardell roll to keep up with the others? I will throw in a stealth roll, let me now if i should roll more than that
Stealth 1d6 ⇒ 5
Wild die 1d6 ⇒ 4
And he follows Korren and Blackbow towards the voices...
Stealth 1d6 ⇒ 4
Wild die 1d6 ⇒ 4
... And draw his swords as they reach cover. Flashing a grin at his companions as he readies for battle.

I have been debating how long a session should be, whether I should use a real-world measure of time. I think I've decided that as a session is meant to be roughly 4 hours or so, that perhaps 4 weeks or the nearest narrative break could be a good measure for benny refreshing. Which means I have skimped on you guys. But then I lose bennies for my baddies too, so it's all fair in love and war.

SD Comic Con starts tomorrow, I probably will be too worn out to post until Monday.
You could also just renew them 1 per scene, or a fresh renewal at each major chapter.

Karia manages to successfully sneak around, as does Blackbow. Ardell notices the bandit in the tree. So far the party has been lucky not to be spotted.
Kari and Blackbow can now make out that there are two voices, one male, one female. They can catch snippets of conversation, interspersed with much foul language in the manner of such folk.
"...back soon"
"Gut the fat grunter..." *laughter*
"... good for a tumble - don't get ideas"
Ardell Quentin |
"Okay on my count" whisper Ardell.
"1.. 2.. 3!"
Rushing forward with his swords drawn he slashes at any bandit not hit by a missile, going for a quick kill to alert as few as possible.
Attack 1 1d6 ⇒ 4
Wild dice 1 1d6 ⇒ 6
Ace 1d6 ⇒ 3
Attack 2 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Wild dice 2 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Benny to reroll:
Attack 2 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Wild dice 2 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Damage 1 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Damage 2 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
+4 to hit and damage if we get the drop
Fabes DM |
Korren steps out of the underbrush and throws an axe at the nearest bandit, his waraxe soon in his hand.
Attack, then quick draw my waraxe: 1d8;1d6
Yeah, spending a bennie to reroll that: 1d8;1d6
Damage, if that hit: 1d10;1d6
Oh-oh, double 1, means something bad happens. Bwahahaha...
Blackbow |

uh but he spent a Benny to re-roll it...

OK - got new job. Bit trepidatious, but on with the game!
Initiative
Notice rolls for Kressle (Wild Card) and the bandits
1d8 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 6
1d6 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 5
Excellent - you surprise them but they can all still act. You are all technically on Hold. So you can either take those actions you declared or wait to see what the bandits do. Le me know. You currently face two bandits, a woman and a man. The woman carries two hand axes.
Fabes DM |
Korren hits but doesn't damage Kressle, as does Ardell. Blackbow misses. Based on the description of actions, I think Pavla is too far away from the action to attack right away.
The heroes erupt in a flurry of action. Axes and arrows fly through the air. The woman snarls an expletive.
Actions from Kari and Pavla?
Fabes DM |
Kari and Pavla - remember that you can interrupt an opponent's actions (because you're on Hold) - tricky I know, in PbP, but I will bear it in mind in my combat descriptions.
Kressle - draw both axes simultaneously - Agility roll
1d8 ⇒ 81d6 ⇒ 1
Too bad that wasn't an Attack roll! She succeeds.
The woman sneers, "Ye're not the only one who can do that trick, a@@!&$#&." as she draws her twin hatchets with terrible swiftness.
She has Two-Fisted, so ignores the multi-action penalty for two attacks but does take it for drawing in the same round. " axe attacks vs Korren
1d8 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 51d6 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
1d8 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 21d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Spend 1 Bennies - reroll the first one.
1d8 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 31d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
She grunts as Korren parries her axes with his own, "Nice. Ye've got spunk." she adds.
Next - the bandits!
Fabes DM |
Bandit in tree attacks Pavla (already had longbow out, but Pvla has cover.
1d6 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Bandit with Kressle - draw sword and move to engage Korren. Other bandit in another tree! Attacks Korren with longbow.
1d6 ⇒ 5
Korren is hit. Damage:
2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Raise.
1d6 ⇒ 1
So, Korren has been hit with a Raise, causing a Wound.
Arrows fly from the trees, one headed straight for Korren...
Fabes DM |
Sorry, Pavla should be closer.
Bandit with Kressle - Spirit roll to not be Shaken.
1d6 ⇒ 5
Success - no longer Shaken
Bandit in eastern tree - fires at Korren.
1d6 ⇒ 5
Hit. Damage:
2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
No effect
Bandit in western tree tries to fire at Pavla
1d6 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Kressle - attacks Korren with axes
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 31d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d6 ⇒ 6
Eesh, spend a Benny on that load of rolls.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d6 ⇒ 6
Spend another one. I now only have 2 left in my GM pool, as Kressle has spent all of her own
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 81d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 61d6 ⇒ 4
1 hit.Damage:
1d8 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 1
No effect.
The leader of the bandits whales upon Korren and he suffers from jarred joints as he has to furiously parry her attacks, and dodge arrows.
