Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius picks up the doll and puts it in his pocket "What was that? I recommend that we spilt up. Maya, come with me." Tamilius rides his horse over to where he heard the scream coming from.

Human Human Fighter 1

I'll be there in a moment. It could be a trap, be careful. Someone stay back a little and cover us with a bow, and keep an eye on Git. Shoot him if he tries to escape.

Maya leaves her horse tethered to the nearby tree. She takes Git and ties him to the same tree. Then she readies her shield and sword. After that she sets out towards the fence on foot following Tamilius. She will probably arrive after Tamilius and anyone else who hurried over on horseback.

Male Human Barbarian / 1

The scream breaks Gozer's inner struggle and without thinking he breaks into a run as fast a possible moving four times his normal speed before the scream even ends. Being a warrior for so long has allowed his reaction time to trump almost any other action. As he runs, for the first time fear enters his eyes. Axe in hand he tries and prepares himself for what he may find.

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper is studying the area around the path into the corn, and says,"There is a patch of oil here at the start of the trail, and I think it could've been used for --"

He then stops abruptly when he hears the scream.
Upon Maya's urging, he rushes back to his horse.
He puts away his warhammer.
He draws his shortbow and notches an arrow, his eye keenly focused on the goblin.

Male Human Wizard / 1st

'If this be Goblin work, mounted is better than not,' he thought returning to, and mounting his horse.

Talberon kept pace with Maya and approach the corn field with caution.

OOC:
Are those two guards still with us? If so I will call them forward with Maya and I.

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Question:
@GM-Hairy -- Where are the tracks on the map you drew? I thought I followed your earlier explanation, but I may have gotten confused ... and I'm wondering if we need exact locations like we would in melee? Thanks!

Male Human

Trapper:
I will draw up a new map if you enter combat. The tracks basically just lead the direction that everyone is heading.

Trapper hangs back slightly but the guide named Dominik runs over quickly. Her voice is urgent and she stutters as she speaks "Trapper go with your friends I will watch the Goblin. She stops speaking and as she does you swear you can hear her muttering Not a child...no...I..."

Ferike hurtles past trapper with bow drawn.

Cornfield

When you enter the cornfield you can barely see anything, a wall of green and yellow surrounds you. You are all forced to walk single file along the well worn track else you face getting lost in the sea of corn. Gozer is in the lead then Tamilius, Maya and Talberon. Ferike is close behind. Belethor and Trapper have yet to enter.

It looks like this.

Male Human Cleric/1

Belethor looks grim when he hears the scream. He drops from his horse leaving it where it stood and rushes into the field after Ferike. He draws his sword as he runs anger and hatred in his eyes Maybe I am wrong. maybe these Goblins do deserve to die. He pushes the thought out of his mind as he runs.

By the way can I just ask who is on horseback and who isn't?

Male Human Barbarian / 1

Gozer is not on horse back

Gozer's axe is ready and his attention is focused looking for the source of the scream.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Male Human Wizard / 1st

Talberon rode on just behind Maya, while keeping a short leash on his horse. He tried to see as far as he could from his slightly elevated vantage point...

Perception:
1d20 ⇒ 20

"Be careful Maya, they could be anywhere," he whispered, referring to whomever had done such a thing back at the house.

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper glares down at Dominik, and then shakes his head sharply.

He states firmly, "No, lass. You go on ahead, and I will keep my eye on the goblin."

Trapper remains mounted on his horse, his bow and arrow ready to fire.

Perception = 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Male Human

Cornfield

You come out into a small clearing and you see Two Goblins hunched over what appears to be a sack. You hear them giggling. They haven't noticed you arrive yet.

GM Rolls:
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Goblin Dog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Talberon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Gozer: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Belethor: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Maya: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Tamilius: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Ferike: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Perception Rolls:
Belethor: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Tamilius 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Maya 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Ferike 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Cornfield Initiative Order:

  • Belethor
  • Goblin
  • Maya
  • Talberon
  • Gozer
  • Goblin Dog
  • Tamilius
  • Ferike
  • Perception 15:
You notice two Goblin Dogs hiding in the corn on either side of the place that you entered. You see drool hanging from their snarling faces as they prepare to attack.

I rolled perceptions for those who hadn't already to speed up Gameplay.

Tamilius you are surprised this round.

Anyone who got a perception roll higher than 15 look in that spoiler.

    Back at House (Trapper)

Dominique moves over to watch over the Goblin when she suddenly shouts out to Trapper "Coming through the corn look." You see a rustling in the corn just where everyone else just travelled through. Suddenly the corn parts and a huge snarling hairless dog jumps out.

    GM Rolls:
    Goblin Dog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
    Trapper: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
    Dominique: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

The dog charges straight at Dominique its yellowed teeth trying to snap at her but she bats the creature away and swings with her sword, which the dog dodges easily.

    Attacks:
    Dog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
    Dominique: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

    Trapper your turn now.

    House Initiative Order:
  • Goblin Dog
  • Dominique
  • Trapper

  • Male Human Cleric/1

Belethor without thinking charges forward to attack the Goblins, however at the last moment his swing goes wide and he stumbles.

    Longsword Melee charge:
    1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 2 = 11

    Male Human

    Cornfield

The Goblins are startled by Belethor's attack but are quick to retaliate. They pay little attention to everyone else and both draw their swords and slash at Belethor. One of the goblins connects and slices across Belethor's arm.

    Goblin Attacks:
    1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
    1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
    1d4 ⇒ 2

Now everyone in the Cornfields take their turns in any order down to Goblin Dog in the initiative.

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper takes careful aim with his already notched arrow, knowing full well that he earned his feat of firing a Point Blank Shot when he was but a mere lad back in the port city of Diobel.

thwang!! and the arrow sails through the air at the hairless dog.

    Ranged Attack = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

    BB Rules Question:
The BB rules say that an attack roll equal to or greater than the opponent's AC is a hit. According to the SRD, a goblin dog has an AC = 13, so would this be a hit? I'll roll damage for the fun of it. If it's a miss, disregard.

    Arrow damage = 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

    male human

Maya rushes out of the cornfield and attacks the goblin that Belethor did not engage.

    Charge: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

    Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

    Male Human Barbarian / 1

Gozer looks right at the dog and swings his axe at its head.

    Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

    Damage: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

    Male Human Wizard / 1st

Talberon took aim at one of the goblin dogs...

'What foul beast is this?' he thought as he released his readied bolt.

    Rolls:
    1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
    1d8 ⇒ 3

"To either side, in cover, dogs! Talberon yelled.

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper sees the rustling of the corn stalks and hears the sounds of weapons clanging.

He wonders, Can I ride me horse through corn?

He keeps his focus on Dominique, though, and their own goblin-dog menace for now. He prepares to grab another arrow.

And, he thinks ... Not sure about the intentions of this "guide" of ours, but I can't leave her to a fate like this.

    Male Human

Round 1 Cornfield: Maya, Gozer, Tamilius, Talberon, Belethor and Ferike.

Maya charges straight at the Goblin decapitating it with one with a mighty swing.

Gozer axe sings as he tries to cleave through the Goblin Dog ambush however his swing is to wild and the creature manages to evade. Talberon's attack is put off by the corn and the creatures ugliness and his bolt travels wide.

    Goblin Dog Attack:

    Rolls:
    Dog 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
    Dog 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

One dog tries to attack Gozer but is swatted aside like a flee. While the other attempts to kill Talberon but he easily dodges the ferocious snapping.

    Tamilius Your up now :)

    Male Human

    Round 2 House: Trapper, Dominique.

Trappers arrow punches into the Goblin Dogs shoulder warranting a spurt of blood. The dog stares at Trapper momentarily before returning to it's battle with Dominique, however it's thrashing teeth fail to get a hold on her.

    Spoiler:
    1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

She raises her longsword and swings down but she doesn't have enough room and is unable to connect.

    Trapper Your Go Now

    Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius swings his Quarterstaff at the closest Dog. 1d20 ⇒ 4

I'm still on my horse, so apply any modifiers from that.

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Standard Movement = Trapper notches another arrow.
Trapper takes careful aim at the goblin-dog's throat, hoping for a kill shot to do away with this menace and save Dominique.

    thwang! swoosh!
    Ranged Attack = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
    Arrow Damage = 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

    Trapper rears back and snarls.
Me arrows are hitting, but this beast has a hide tougher than Kaglemros*.

    asterick:
"Kaglemros" is the name of the war hammer used by the Dwarf god Torag

    Male Human

Round 1 Cornfield: Maya, Gozer, Tamilius, Talberon, Belethor and Ferike

Ferike strikes at a Goblin Dog slicing through and removing both ears.

    Ferike attack:
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
    1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

    GM Stuff:
    One Goblin Down
8 damage to one Goblin Dog

    Male Human Cleric/1

Round 2 Cornfield: Maya, Gozer, Tamilius, Talberon, Belethor and Ferike

Belethor bellows and strikes at the other Goblin piercing it's heart, the Goblins slumps to the ground dead.

    Belethor Attack:
    1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
    1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Two Goblin Dogs left finish them off :P

    Male Human

    Round 2 House: Trapper, Dominique.

The dog once more tries to bite at Dominique ripping a chunk from her shoulder in a spray of blood.

    Attacks:
    1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
    1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

She can do little to stop the attacks and can not bring her sword high enough to mount an effective strike.

    Trapper your go.

    Human Human Fighter 1

Maya, figuring that Gozer can handle himself, moves to aid Talberon. She rushes over to him and slashes at the goblin dog that is yipping at him.

She tries to set herself up to flank the dog with Talberon

    Attack (with flanking bonus): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

    Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

    Human Human Fighter 1

Don't worry Tabby, I got your back! Die, you ugly mutt!! She shouts out as she lands a nasty slash on the vile dog.

Gozer, is everything okay over there?

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Free Action = Trapper moves his horse so that his line-of-sight is a good as possible.
Standard Movement = Grinding his teeth, he grabs yet another arrow from his quiver, sets, pulls the bow taut, taking deliberate aim at the goblin-dog's side, hoping the broader target will give him a solid hit.

    thwang! swoosh!
    Ranged Attack = 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13
    Damage = 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

And Trapper's arrow causes what appears to be nothing more than a flesh wound.

    Trapper now screams with frustration,
    AHHHHHHHH!

    Male Human Wizard / 1st

I'm lost in the order, but here is what I guess Talberon would do when he can.

Talberon let his crossbow drop to swing on its restrain strap. Engaged in melee by the Goblin Dog, he drew his sword (Move Action) and swung wildly...

    Attack!:
    1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11
    1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
    Am I at -4 or -2 for an unskilled weapon since I have a +2 STR modifier? -4 + +2 = +2?

'Let my strike be true,' he thought knowing he was not the most martially prowess-ed individual...

    Male Human Barbarian / 1

I am also lost in the order

Gozer swings his greataxe one more time trying to the damned beast..

    Power attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

    Damage: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

    Male Human Barbarian / 1

    Fine Gozer calls out.

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

    Initiative Order:
Here is the initiative order for the cornfield. Is this what Talby & Gozer are asking about?

    •Belethor
    •Goblin
    •Maya
    •Talberon
    •Gozer
    •Goblin Dog
    •Tamilius
    •Ferike

    Male Human Barbarian / 1

I am just having a really hard time keeping track of whos turn it is... I am basically just trying to go when the GM tells me to now.

    Male Human

    Cornfield
Maya lands a lucky blow chopping into the back of the dogs neck and killing it in a spray of blood. Gozer's axe is brought down cleaving through the beasts skull.

Sorry guys. Really am. Everything is dead now so that's all cool ;)

    Male Human

    House

Trappers arrow plunges into the dogs neck giving Dominique the opportunity she needs to strike back. She drives her sword through the dogs skull, it writhes for a second before falling still.

    GM Rolls:
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
    1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

"Thank the god of the mountains!" Trapper yells.
And without further ado holds his hand out to Dominque.

"Come along, Lass! We have to see if we can help the others!"

Trapper helps Dominique up onto his horse.
    Charisma Roll = 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15

    Male Human Wizard/1

    Tamilius searches the bodies and corn in a 5 foot area around him. 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper and Dominque ride into the cornfield area where the main battle was taking place.

Perception Check for anything unusual =
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

After Dominque gets off the horse, Trapper pulls out his journal and begins to write down everything he's seen, including he burning farmhouse, the goblin-dog attacks, the battlefield scener in the cornfield.

Me brothers need to know that the peace that settled in these parts after we killed 'The Chopper' has given way to a new round of violence. If I can somehow get word back to them without spending every gold coin I own ...

    Trapper's Journal:
I've gotten away from this aspect of Trapper's character. He wants to chronicle everything that's happening so that he can tell his family back on the Isle of Kortos what's happening along the Lost Coast. Trapper's Family traces its roots back to some unspeakable part of Golarian's history in what-is-now Varisia. Since he's been exiled here, he feels it's his duty to do as much research as he can.

    XP:
    Do we get XP?

    Human Human Fighter 1

Maya sees trapper approach, and as she wipes the goblin blood off her sword she says,

Trapper where's Git? I thought you were going to keep an eye on him.

She doesn't wait for a response and hurries back towards where she left him tied to the tree by the farmhouse.

I hope that little bastard hasn't escape. I still need him to lead us to their lair.

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper throws a hand over his mouth, his ruddy face reddening with fear and embarrassment.

We were attacked! The guide and I. We were attacked by one of those goblin-mutts!

He wheels about on the horse and gallops back to the ... still burning? ... farmhouse.

By Torag's workboots, what have I done?

    Male Human Barbarian / 1

Stupid dog... Gozer frantically starts looking for the source of the scream...

    Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

    Human Human Fighter 1

As Maya leaves to find Git she calls out behind her to her companions

I'll be back in a moment. See if you can find out where those screams came from.

Trapper should be her back to the farmhouse since he's on horseback and she's on foot.

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper slows down enough so that he is even with Maya.

    If you please, m'lady.
He holds out his hand to give her a boost up and onto the horse, if she prefers.

If the little bastard did try to run off we'll stand a better chance of tracking him down on horseback!

    Human Human Fighter 1

She gets up on the horse behind trapper

Well I tied him up as best I could, so hopefully he's still there. I wouldn't be surprised if he gnawed through the rope with those sharp little teeth of his though.

    Male Human

You see that the sack the Goblin's were carrying start to squirm and wriggle. It suddenly bursts open and a girl child pops out, she screams when she see's Gozer but she doesn't move from the spot.

Trapper and Maya ride back and find that Git is still patiently tied up he smiles when he see's you. You both get the sense that he is kind of enjoying being the guide.

XP: 450 xp each for everyone I think so a pretty decent chunk ;)

    Male Human Barbarian / 1

[ooc] What is our total xp now? Sorry I lost track. [/b]

Gozer looks down at the child so small and scared and kneels down to look at her. His axe forgotten falls to the ground next to him. He tries to make the best nonthreatening smile he can.

Are you okay little one? Are you hurt? He tries and to look her over. I promise I wont let anyone hurt you.

    Diplomacy check: 1d20 ⇒ 14

    Grand Lodge

    Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

    XP Level:
XP=720, by the Shire reckoning :-)

Trapper uses Perception Check to look for Git
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

    There he is, M'Lady!

    Question:
If Git is actually there, that is! Since Trapper doesn't know, and since I don't know, I guess this falls under DM's discretion.

    Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius pulls out the doll from his pocket "Here, I found this." Tamilius gives it to the girl.

According to me, I have 915 XP.

    Male Human

The girl swallows down her fear of the big man, she brushes long blonde hair out of her pale green eyes before speaking sweetly "I am not hurt just...scared." She slowly crawls over to Gozer and cuddles into his arms. Tamilius hands her the doll and she smiles "Thankyou. Have you seen my mama and papa."

Trapper yep you can see Git :D He is just waiting patiently like a dog :) Wagging his tail and everything.

    Haha I get 795 xp. :P I don't have a clue who is right.
