Staying in Brooklyn, I hope.
Yup, just a few blocks away. On the very day that everyone in the borough is double parked while it's raining. But it's done. Let us never speak of it again. We'll wrap up this fight shortly (even carrying a coffin you're more than a match for a bunch of farmers) we just have to see if we run the risk of tipping over the professor.

Though I like the paladin, I guess I mostly don't want a 'my character vs the party' dynamic, and the odds are against me it seems.
Let me know if you're confident or if you also feel the same way. We still have plenty of time it seem before he flexes his holy might.

Professor's books (Just to keep this straight in my own head)
Newest: has the words Read me now! scratched into the cover.
Three more have notes tucked under the covers indicating they must be brought to Montangie Crowl, professor of Antiquities at Lepidstadt University:
"On Verified Madness" black, a treatise on aberrations, creatures of the Dark Tapestry and their worship.
"Serving Your Hunger" deep crimson emblazoned with the symbol of a fly, its thorax resembling a skull. A holy book of Urgathoa
"The Umbral Leaves" midnight blue embossed with a skull holding a length of chain in its jaw. A translation in Taldane of Zon Kuthon's holy text
Fourth has a note on the cover indicates that this is to be brought to Judge Embreth Daramid and gives her home address in Lepidstad:
"Manual of the Order of the Palatine Eye." Rich purple and rimmed in steel. On the cover is a brass scarab with an eye in it's carapace. A tiny triangular keyhole sits next to the scarab in the book's cover. The Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye is a secretive group with interests in all things arcane and political.

I've been reading along and enjoying your spin on CC very much. The detail you put into it and the npcs has been a lot of fun to read. If you guys decide to add another I'd love to get on the alternate list. I don't always post every day, but sometimes I post several times a day and I'm dependable. (Longest running pbp on these boards is four years in now.)

It looks like Jormungandr (and Alison by extension) is MIA from what I can see. Are you folks interested in getting a fifth person on board or are you ok with four?
It looks like it's been just under two weeks since Jormungandr posted anything anywhere, including the games he was running, so who knows what happened. I've had my own periodic disappearance, and two weeks isn't that long, so Id suggest giving him another couple of days to pop up. If not, adding a fifth might be good, as I tend to think the more people posting, the more likely things will keep rolling.

Okay, Alison will be a support NPC in case Jormungandr comes back. Thanks for the kind words, ithuriel. If you have a character in mind, we can start talking about them. 4 reliable players is a good number, but I feel like it's also nice to have a 5th.

No- the opportunity caught me off guard. Nothing prepared yet. I'm tossing around different ideas right now. Some initial thoughts:
1) A rival professor from Lepistadt University who heard whispers that Lorrimer was up to something and is hoping to ride his coattails to fame and success.
2) A loyal house servant (possibly bastard child) in Ravenegro who won't sit idly by when he hears suspicions that the death was not an accident after all.
3) Kendra herself takes up her father's mantle when it becomes clear that his death was not an accident.
4) A detective Lorrimer had privately engaged years ago to independently investigate his death whenever and however it might occur.
5) An associate of Father Grimburrow who wants a hand in whatever is going on after what he has seen (both the walking dead and your willingness to raid church resources).
6) A Pathfinder who Lorrimer had contacted for help when things started to look complicated.
I'll try to narrow it down into something solid by tomorrow. If any of those hooks appeal to you or don't work at all (as Kendra might not) let me know and I'll adjust accordingly.

Hahah! Second paladin indeed. :)
I've been sketching out a rival professor but a decision as to character class has eluded me so far. It's a tough one because I'm already playing a universalist wizard and a standard bard so I don't want to rehash too much. Looking at Bard (archivist) or (detective), or maybe a diviner or abjurer. Also still toying around with the idea of Lorrimer's gardener / grounds keeper who would be a sorcerer of some questionable bloodline who the professor took under his wing partly to mentor him and partly to keep an eye on him. Abyssal or aberrant most likely, though verdant might also be interesting.
At least it is narrowed down to two rough concepts :) I'll see what I can do today about finalizing this today. We have a three week old baby so my scheduling is a little wonky right now, but normalizing over time.

Thanks guys :) First baby so we are figuring it out as we go.
Here's a roll for starting wealth 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 x10 = 70.
Exactly average :)
Nearly done. I went with the diviner in the end. I think he will be primarily a utility / control caster leaving the bulk of the offensive casting in Luka's hands (or sword) but we'll see what happens over time.
