A'mar holds his position, scanning the action, looking for signs of danger, ready to pounce. {ooc]ready action, attack any enemy that gets within range of hurting tesliin[/oo]
Marten, slashed to ribbons by the gray man, falls to the ground unconscious, bleeding on the marble floor.
Rhoekk, seeing treebrother in trouble, rushes up and assists in pinning the grayman
Tesliin floats the 2nd gray man to another one and ties off the weave.
The grayman about to be pinned renews his struggles to get amorial to let go, by slashing at him still.

amorial will pin his opponent, allowing the gray man to be tied up next round.
Jolial will immolate the grayman that is facing him, turning him to ash.

Amorial Suth
Amorial uses all of his strength to hold down this foe who has inflicted more punishment on the Ogier than he has probably ever suffered before in his entire long life.
"Thank you friend Rhoekk this fiend must be stopped!

eyes scan over the nobles near Tesliin for enemies and takes stock in the general situation
Tesliin, Orders? fight in the Toh ring against those or guard here?
my thought is to engage those in the Toh ring; but more bad guys might be hiding the the crowd of nobles or some such; or a dark friend; so am waiting for a quick answer before doing an action; I dont want to leave Tesliin exposed.
Tesliin Sedai
Round 5
"The two in the ring are currently contained, make sure everyone else is safe while I attend to Marten."
Tesliin attempts to stabilize Marten first, using Delve as part of it (might take 2 rounds, not sure). It'll take 20 minutes fo the lvl 5 Heal, so gonna wait until after combat I think.
1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 5 = 17 +5 is for Delve
Joliar Belthoval
No! Joliar flinches back as the man's blade cuts into his side. Movement out of the corner of his eye spins him around. It seems like there are more of them, hiding amongst the crowd. His eyes widening in fear, Joliar steps away and weaves flows of Spirit in desperation. A thin slash of light appears and slowly rotates into an open hole hanging in the air.
Round 5
Concentration check to cast on defensive (avoid AoO) DC 21: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Concentration check to Overchannel by 2 levels, DC 25: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Overchannel to use Create Gateway at Level 7. Affinities brings it to Level 6 need, so using Level 4 slot to cast Level 6 Create Gateway.
Phew, just made it both times.
Tesliin, Delve takes 1 minute to weave which is 10 rounds. Just FYI.
Tesliin Sedai
Arms of Air has worked out well, this time I'll take G3, violent throw against the ceiling, to let him fall back down, if that works. I just realized I don't have too much in the way of combat, plus I can actually use the power against these guys.
Tesliin draws forth weaves of air against a third target, sending them flying into the ceiling with a violent thrust.
Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 3
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 4 falling
Joliar Belthoval
With combat essentially over I'm going to post this as it will remove me from the current situation for a chunk of in-game time.
Joliar's head swivels around before leaping through the portal. He stumbles a bit as the exit was slightly above ground level but catches himself quickly and releases his weave. The others can only watch as the hole winks out, taking their companion with it.
Joliar looked around waiting for an enemy to pop out at him, saidin flowing like a torrent through his veins. When none did, a few moments later he was able to finally quell the panic that had clenched his heart and his cool detachment slowly returned. Looking around he quickly realized that he had no idea where he was. None of the landmarks looked familiar for as far as he could see.
Settling himself down, he began to study this new area, learning every detail he could to better aid his eventual return to Cairhien.
Because the Gateway was opened in panic, I'm figuring he had no clue where it was taking him. That being the case, he'll have to wait the requisite amount of time to study his location before attempting to open another portal back to the group.
Tesliin Sedai
All right, time to heal Marten. First I'll stabilize him so he doesn't die.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
That took two rounds. While I do the healing (20 minutes for lvl 5), I'll have A'mar tend to the shadowspawn and the nobles.
Healing 5d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 7, 2) + 8 = 28 Converted to Subdual
RIZZENMAGNUS
jolial, since this is a random area that you jumped to, im going to say that itll take a few hours to study the area, since the rules are rather vague in defining "study for several hours". so i'll leave it up to a dice roll, 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel
Once the gray man secured by Amorial is bound, Rhoekk sits him up cross-legged, and rests a spear blade against his neck to dissuade any attempt to slip out of his bonds.
'All these injured wetlanders... I could help bind wounds, but I do not think I trust any of them to guard this prisoner.'
"Aes Sedai, we should bind those you have held. If you could bring them here by this one?" Rhoekk eyes the small woman cautiously, as though assessing a threat he did not previously see.
RIZZENMAGNUS
with your gaze averted, the gray man slides his neck across the sharpened spear blade.
auto crit damage 1d6 ⇒ 4 x3. 12 damage, enough to make it dying. since tesliin is in the middle of healing marten, ill allow rhoekk a heal check, to stabalize, but at a dc 20, since the gray man performed its own coup de grace
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel
Recall that we changed the spear to a 18-20, x2 instead of the old x3. Would I get a perception check, or reflex save or anything?
"Damn it."
Heal check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
"Amorial Suth, I cannot stop the bleeding. Do you know the binding of wounds?"
RIZZENMAGNUS
thats right, we did. so using the same roll, it would be 8 damage instead of 12. so instead of him dying, he will be at 2 HP, but with the bleeding condition, since he sliced his own neck. And the Heal DC to stop BLEED is DC 15.
as for the perception check or the reflex save, im going to say that since you were eyeing Tesliin as a new threat, you were giving her more of your attention than to guarding the gray man.
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel

the shrieks and callings fill the great hall as nobles cry for servants, or in pain, or both. Dead nobles and servants alike litter the floor, testimant to the carnage these gray men have committed. In a scene the belies class, a few noblemen lay entwined with their servants, proving that death is the greatest equalizer.
Servants rush to their masters, tearing off clothing to act as bandages, while others rush about, some calling for the healer, others for guards.
Lord Jareen stands tall, a bit pale faced from the sword wounds he's received. He commands nobles and servants alike, directing efforts to those most needed. any attempts to see him serviced end with a sharp rebuff go help those worse than me. Looking at him sideways, you can almost think he was a Commander at some point.
Guardsman begin to fill the room, along with a trio of Aielmen who were on patrol in the city. They ignore everyone else and approach Rhoekk, asking for information as to what happened and if he was ok.
A'mar stands guard by the floating gray men, stopping the guardsmen from killing the darkfriends by staring them down.
Tesliin begins working on Marten immediately, grabbing his head and channeling large amounts of spirit, air and water into him, slowly repairing the torn muscles, and forcing out the impurities inside him.
Amorial ears quiver at the rush of human excitement around him, the quickness of action. Unable to do help Rhoekk, Amorial just watches the gray man bleed to death after slicing his neck open with rhoekks sharp aiel spears.
Looking around, everyone seems to meet everyone else's eyes...except for one.
Where's Jolial?
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel
Rhoekk acknowledges his fellow red-shields and then explains to them what happened. "The wetlanders were holding their tournament, and I was here by my clan leader's request, to teach rocks to fly and treekillers to understand honour. Some of the shadowrunners we have heard about, those who cannot be seen by the common eye, attacked, and several wetlanders were injured or killed. The lady there, is an Aes Sedai. Her man and the Alantin helped me to stop them. There were two others as well, him (pointing), and another, who used the power like the car'a'carn. The other disappeared through a hole in the air, such as the one the car'a'carn uses. Those two prisoners will need close watching. And be careful; I was unable to stop this one from killing himself."
Amorial Suth
Amorial turns to Rhoekk. "Thank you friend Rhoekk. Your quick thinking and decisive action has no doubt saved my life. Ask anything of me that you will and I shall be honored to do my best to comply".
Nodding to him but not waiting for a reply Amorial stoops down next to Tesliin Sedai whispering, [b] "This is a disaster. Joliar has vanished. Marten I hope you can save and my own injuries are quite severe as well. How did these creatures know who we were or do you think they were targeting us by chance?"

The area around you is hot. the heat from the ground almost blisters your feet. sweat pops out of your head and body, making your clothes cling to you. The air that you breathe in drys your mouth quickly. Glancing around, all you see is various shades of brown.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
a little farther in the distance, a glitter of metal catches your eye. Curiosity overcomes the heat and you step towards the glittering thing wondering what is that?. you step with waryness, cautiosly looking at everything, expecting to be attacked.
a few heart pounding minutes later and you are standing next to the source of the glint. its a spear, thrust through a body. A trolloc body. Scanning around, you begin to see bodies everywhere, trollocs, Myrdraals, and Aielman and Maidens. a quick count puts the number of dead at 100, 20 Aiel and 80 followers of the Dark One.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 see discussion page for weave learned...grumble grumble
looking past it all, you see the entrance to a cave. debris litters the ground, looking as if it has been a recent excavation. From where you stand, it looks like it extends in and then widens.

Roll to eavesdrop; Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Rhoekk stands to one side, appearing to survey the scene, but not looking at any one place in particular. He scans the crowd and corners of the hall as well, keeping an eye out for any more grey men, or wetlander shadowrunners who might give themselves away.

walking into the cave you can easily see that the weave you just learned had been used extensively to create this cave. It looks like the one power was used to carve a path deep into the mountain. Slowly walking in you are able to see that the tunnel widens into a large chamber. the difference is this chamber appears as if its man-made. squared angles greet your eyesight, confirming that this is indeed an ancient ruin, and your first thought is to the Age of Legends, where cities where swallowed by oceans and moutains.
Taking a moment to create some light to better see, you wander about this room, studying it, planning to use this place as your point of reference to gate from. as you wander about, you see doorways, with and without doors, all blocked by debris behind them.
as you get into the center of the room, you see a strange square outline, a large layer of dust seems to have outlined something large.
perception check, taking 20= 29[/dice]
looking around this dust line, you barely percieve a square outline, as if the floor stops and something else is fitted into the floor.
[ooc]in Cairhein
The aielmen who wandered in agreed that the prisoners must be guarded, and put up their spears to prevent these other gray men from using the blades as a means of suicide.
Lords and ladies alike. this evening has seen much excitement for the evening. As such, let us adjorn for the evening and we shall meet again in the future. I bid you good evening Lord Jareen finishes in a no-nonsense voice; you get the feeling that you have been dismissed.
YOU!he points at all of you. You stay. he turns and limps up to the front doors to wish his guests well.

itll take about an hour for lord jareen to talk to everyone as they leave, so marten can be awoken from his laziness, i mean subdual damage
in cairhein
Lord Jareen walks away from you as you stand around, wondering, waiting. questions fill your minds of where those gray men after Me? someone else? while you look around the hall at all the servants cleaning up the blood, and a few of them standing around a 5-foot square that is warped, its engraved image twisted and swirled.
Marten, having regained consciousness from the vicious attacks, looks about, first seeing that Jolial is missing, and second, that Jolial fled using a gateway If only i could learn how to do that, i could have gone after him he curses himself, but his face shows no emotion. Tesliin slowly unravels her weaves and lowers the graymen down to the waiting arms of the Aiel. They quickly tie ropes around wrist and neck, ensuring a tight knot and leaving no chance of escape. Bidding farewells to Rhoekk, all three leave with prisoners in hand.
Amorial looks terrible, although bandaged, he still grunts and groans alot as his moves about. His bandages are red from blood loss. Tesliin clicks her mouth in anger and forces the Ogier to sit. She puts her hands on him and begins to channel, forcing his body to Heal.
level 2 delve. and then level 4 heal
4d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 4, 8, 7) + 8 = 28
Finally, after the guests have left, Lord Jareen walks up, ordering chairs to be brought forth. Sitting down, he grimaces, but motions you rest to sit.
i wanted to thank you for all your help just now. Those gray men where just slashing through the nobility here he pauses, glancing down at his bandaged wrapped abdomen and chuckles, grimacing in pain before continuing Rhoekk, i exspecially want to thank you for coming to my aide. that one had a wicked blade; i swear i felt i was loosing myself every time that blade hit me. Amorial, you were very brave, grappling that fiend by yourself. grimacing again, he wipes his head across his brow, drawing sweat away from it. are his cheeks getting whiter? you ponder as you wait for him to continue. groaning as he shifts his seat, he looks at A'mar. and you sir. you were able to defeat not one, but 4 gray men. Are you one of those Asha'man that i have heard rumored about these past couple days?
a loud groan escapes his lips and he doubles forward, retching up blood and mucus. A shout of pain is quickly gargled as more blood forcefully flies from his mouth, a tremor wracking him so hard he falls face first into his own vomit.
jolial, what you doing?
Joliar Belthoval
Based on your description, it sounds like the square shape is some kind of block or cover over a tunnel or shaft or the like. That is what my post is based off of so please let me know if I need to edit.
Joliar channels weaves of Air and Earth, flexing the walls of space while hoisting the solid block of stone up and out. A gaping black hole stands at his feet, his light shining down into it.
Flavor text is basically me using Arms of Air to remove the stone block.
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel
"Poison?" Rhoekk peals back his bandage for a moment to look at his own wound, made by the same blade that wounded Jareen.
If Teslin is still occupied by healing Amorial, Rhoekk will take a knee next to the man to see if he can ascertain anything about his condition, or to aid his recovery. Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Finally, a decent heal check.
Tesliin Sedai
"Of course." Tesliin bends over Lord Jareen and performs a delving to determine his ailment.
Delve, lvl 2 Weave (with lvl 3 effect) 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 5 = 31
Tesliin sends the Weave of spirit into Lord Jareen, prodding the area of his wounds, attempting to learn the nature of his infliction. She can feel the exhaustion of having just healed Marten and Amorial, but forces on despite this.
Marten Noral
Waking up, I was disoriented and very frustrated with how the fight turned out. If we were to face more of those things, I may have to start wearing some sort of armor, no matter how heavy or cumbersome it might be. I'm fairly quick, and decent with a sword, but with so many innocents in the area, I could not unleash much power.
Some Lord, who Amorial referred to as Lord Jareen, collapsed, just having asked A'Mar if he was an Asha'man. That must really have made A'Mar feel good about things, being mistaken for one of us. The Aes Sedai was bent over him, using what must have been the last of her strength to heal him.
Tesliin Sedai, thank you. What is wrong with him? I assume he was struck by one of the grey men. Is there anything I can do to help? My skills with healing are limited, but there.
Waiting for a response, I looked around the room, at something that did not appear to be a grey man. I saw Joliar's residue, having traveled somewhere. Damn wilders, learning all sorts of weaves. In time, perhaps. It seems Joliar has fled us. I cannot trace him. As you Aes Sedai have talents, so do we. That one is not one I have, not yet.
A'Mar of House Issola
where to after here Aes Sedai, consider the choices for the target of this attack, it may be wise to say here with Lord Jareen a few days, the pattern of this attack makes little sense yet, but consider that if our group wasnt here; things would have been very different. Was this attack a test or misjudgment, I wonder
Tesliin Sedai
Seeing the severity of Lord Jareen's wound, Tesliin channels more of the One Power into him, delicately mixing the weaves but striving to be as quick as possible in order to save the man. "whatever is resisting me, I hope I can break through it."
"The wound is resistant to the One Power. I'll try to heal this wound, but it will be difficult."
Level 3 weave for Healing (lvl 4 effect) 20 minute casting time.

Lord Jareen, could you find out and report if any other areas of the city were attacked tonight? Rhoekk, could you also ask among the Aiel please
when i read this, i cracked up. the image of A'mar standing over Jareens body demanding reports of any other nobles being attacked, totally oblivious to jareens vomits of blood. Im waiting for A'mar to kneel down and tell the guy to "suck it up".

Tesliin kneels down over the fallen lord, channeling weaves of Air, spirit, and water into the lord. Everyone stands around watching with abated breath. At first you think its your eyes, but as more time passes, its presence is easily seen by everyone; a slick black oily substance is slowly pushed out of his gaping wounds in his abdomen. It moves like quicksilver, puddling on the skin, and then slowly sliding along the body to the ground. Upon contact with the ground, it begins to pop and fizzle, slowly eating a hole into the marble tile.
jolial
Grunting from the effort, you manage to lift what you thought was a large floor tile, but instead is a large box, purple in color with gold inlays, some of it decorative, some looking like letters and words. With effort, you are able to bring it up and gently set it on the ground next to you.
Pausing to catch your breath, You can feel the box thrum with {Saidar[/i]

"I will be asking, of course, but perhaps first you could tell me who you are, and why I would share that information with you? I am of the Aethan Dor, and we are charged with keeping the peace in Cairhein. You have an Aes Sedai, and men who can channel also, but do you serve the car'a'carn; the one you call 'Dragon'?"
