Korriban, continuing standing in his Crane Style, attacks to try and knock out the purple clad thug sprawled on the ground.

Was going to attack yellow, but purple does provide an easier target. Plus, I get to kick him while he’s down.

ROUND TWO!

Callie begins to taunt the Shinglesnipes--or is it just trash talk? Either way, she seems to be doing a great job throwing them off their game! Korriban aims a kick at the downed man, but slips on a patch of roof slime and nearly falls over himself. He manages to recover just in time, but as he does...

Devargo, seeing most of his teammates threatened by you all, hustles down the field and heads toward the Shinglesnipe getting ready to menace Korriban (yellow).

MAJOR EDIT, IGNORE THIS:
The man blinks stupidly in surprise for a moment, then Devargo yells, "Go, you idiot! Go!" The man takes off in a run, passing Teodor, who punches him in the nose, causing a gout of blood but not forcing him to drop the ball. He dashes past Teodor, blood pouring from his nose...and spikes the ball into your pit!

POINT!

A whistle blows and the Emperor erupts in cheers for a few seconds before calming down. Spectators clap with varying levels of enthusiasm, as you all disengage from each other and catch a quick breath. The Emperor seems to realize that he's shown an unseemly display of emotion, and restrains himself.

"Yes! Hem hem. Very well done, Shinglesnipes! We always knew you could do it. Well, the score stands at one to one, home and visitors! I'll ask you all to kindly take up your positions on the pitch once more...Jabbyr, the ball?"

The one-eyed gnome, grinning maniacally, scurries down to the field and jumps into your pit. You hear the sound of a brief scuffle and a yelping wolverine, and then the spiked ball sails out of your pit and back into the starting pen, followed quickly by the gnome. You all form up once more in the starting squares, and as Jabbyr scurries back to his post, Laori leans into you....

I'm a dum-dum and wrote that whole thing before noticing that the dice made a decision that I missed...whoops! Please read this instead. Hopefully no one saw that in the quick interval before I caught it...

As Devargo heads up the field, the greased ball squirts out of his hands! The King of Spiders lets out a deeply sacrilegious oath as it bounces to the ground, and lunges for it again. But he misses. "GET THE BALL, YOU IDIOT!" he screams to the thug, who's winding up to punch Korriban. The surprised man turns and throws himself toward it, but it just squirts from his hands as well! As the man Matoska tripped clambers to his feet (provoking an AoO from Lantressa if she wants) and backs away (5' step), another Shinglesnipe hurls himself at the ball...and fails as well! This area of the roof is rapidly becoming a scrum. The only ones to ignore it are the two Shinglesnipes flanking Matoska, who have apparently decided he's too much of a threat to ignore. One of them (red) grabs Matoska in an attempted headlock. "Not so tough now, eh? Eh?" he shouts.

Laori charges down the pitch, easily dodging the flailing arms and legs, and hurls herself at the ball, but it's kicked and batted around the now four players attempting to grab it with no success.

"Someone get it before it bounces away!" she cries.

Lantressa, Matoska, and Teodor are up! Matoska is grappled. Remember to pick the ball up off the ground you need to succeed at an attack roll against AC 15.

ROUND THREE

Callie charges forward, swinging her crowbar, but the thug manages--just barely--to dodge her swipe. Korriban follows her and takes a swing at the man, but he's a wiry little fellow, and dodges that blow as well.

One of the Shinglesnipes seizes the ball from the one who has it now and carries it down the field, just barely managing to juggle the greasy thing in his hands. He passes it off to another Shinglesnipe, while a third throws himself between Lantressa and the ball and Devargo circles around to get into scoring position! On the other side of the field, the man grappling Matoska grunts in pain but attempts to tighten his grip; he's too slow, though, and Matoska slips free! The man takes a quick step back, out of arm's reach. Laori races down the field and grapples one of the Shinglesnipes. "C'mon! They're too close!" she hollers.

Lantressa, Matoska, and Teodor are up!

The man with the ball is distracted by Lantressa’s alluring voice and turns toward her—only to find Matoska barreling down on him! The Shoanti man seized the ball and turns, ready to take off again. ”Oooooh! Pass to me!” Laori hollers.

The man up by Callie and Korriban curses. ”Friggin’ incompetents!” He charges off and, not having the space to get in front of Laori, tries to grab her instead. She yelps as he seized the back of her collar.

Devargo lets out an angry curse and, now wary of Teodor, circles wide around him before darting in and attempting to punch Matoska in the kidney. The Shoanti easily dodges him, though, even with the other thug next to him serving as a distraction. Korriban's feint works; the thug next to him takes a wild swing at him, throwing the man off balance for Korriban's counter-attack! One of the other thugs charges in and grabs Teodor in a chokehold, trying to shut down Matoska's options to pass, while the final one rushes in and attempts to help restrain Laori (but mostly gets in the way). Callie's taunting seems to be having a major effect on them--and she remains open for Matoska to pass to!

Laori attempts to wriggle free of the man grasping her collar, but she can't quite get out!

Lantressa, Matoska, and Teodor are up--Callie is wide open for a pass! I'll bot Lantressa once Matoska and Teodor post (unless she gets in first).

@Matoska: you don’t have to make a check to pass at all, actually, but there WILL be a random roll to see what the ball does as you cross the space to Callie. ;)

Fortunately, Matoska manages to dodge the blade, retain his grip on the ball, and shove it into Callie’s hands just as he regains his footing! Teodor struggles with his assailant, but is unable to free himself—Lantressa’s words, meanwhile, attract the remaining thug’s attention. ”Uh....I...” he mutters...at which point Laori pops out of his hold!

Korriban smiles as they score the goal. "Yes! Two to zero! We're on fire!" He smirks at Devargo. Seeing the Emperor and the gnome speaking to each other, Korriban's brow raises. He tries to play it cool.

As Callie cleans herself off, she and Korrian both keep one eye on the conversation. The Emperor seems to be making urgent requests of the gnome, and occasionally punching one fist into another, hard. The gnome is grinning maniacally.

The Emperor straightens and the gnome begins to descend to the court. "We have decided that, to provide the better sport, our right hand, Jabbyr, will take to the field as well! A round of applause from all!" The onlookers on the roofs clap, but it sounds a little ragged--clearly Jabbyr isn't hugely popular. The Emperor enjoys it for a moment as Jabbyr struts, then waves his hand for silence. "Also! We hereby clarify a rule that has not heretofore been successfully enumerated. There shall be no use of cheaty claws in blood pig! That means you, hot stuff." He leers at Lantressa. Clearly, he's not looking to hear any counter-arguments.

Stepping back slightly from the balcony ledge, he raises his hand as another ball is raised into the pit behind the Shinglesnipes, now led by Jabbyr. "Ready...? GO GET YOUR PIG!"

GAME ON! ROUND ONE!

As you square off and the Emperor gives his signal, the gnome surges forward with a surprisingly loud roar. He launches himself at Matoska and nearly catches the Shoanti around the waist, but Matoska manages to wriggle out of the hold, leaving a surprised-looking Jabbyr clutching only air! One of the Shinglesnipes darts back and scoops up the ball, but your team is already in motion.

Matoska and Lantressa are up next!

Sidestepping Jabbyr's lunge, Matoska throws a halfhearted sweep at the gnome's knees, most of his attention focused on the knot of rival players as they retrieved the ball.

Lantressa, needing to be more careful now that she'd been called out on her claws, decided it would be best to wait and see what happened before reacting. If one of those she hadn't yet dazed got that ball she was going to try and affect them too.

Korriban nimbly darts past Jabbyr the gnome and into position. One of the Shinglesnipes crowds him, trying to block his access to the ball, as Jabbyr does the same to Matoska. Korriban dodges the grasping hands of his competitor, but Matoska finds himself surprisingly firmly held down as the gnome latches onto his legs! At the far end of the field, the Shinglesnipe next to Devargo calls out, gets the ball back from him, and hustles down toward his team!

The muscular Shoanti smiles indulgently at Jabbyr, like one humoring a child during play-wrestling. "Yes, yes, very good," he chides the gnome. "But I need to get that ball now."

Trying to turn away, a look of surprise and mild concern crosses his face as the gnome clings tenaciously to his leg and digs in his heels. "He's stronger than he looks," Matoska grunts to no one in particular as he tries to wrench himself free.

Seeing Matoska immobilized Lantressa decided to do something about it. She focused on the gnome and said softly, "The sun is getting real low, time for a lullaby." She laced her words with magic and let the soporific affect wash over the gnome. Then she moved, putting Laori between herself and the approaching Shinglesnipe.
