Gallak is only, say, 10' up in his corner?

Joan:
HP: 34/34, NL: 0 | F: +3 (+4 vs. Environment), R: +7, W: +3 | Per:+13, Init: +3 | Arrows: 12, Laen: 16, Healer's Kit: 10
Liulfr:
HP: 24/24, NL: 0 | F: +5, R: +5, W: +2 | Per:+5, Init: +2

Okay, Joan with start trying to climb up the shaft, double move so 15 feet up.
Climb 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Climb 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Perception (Looking for an anchor): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Joan looks up and then down the hall.

"I've got rope, but if I can't find a place to anchor it, I don't know how much good it'll do. Guess there's only one way to find out."

The ranger starts climbing up the shaft, hoping to find a good place to anchor the rope.

Gallak tosses Joan a piton to hammer into the wall, to anchor her rope every so often. He'll continue feeding them up since Joan seems to be a surer climber.

Joan makes steady progress with Gallak's help. The dwarves are rushing back down the passage.

Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Kib climbs higher

Perception DC 20, +2 for stonework applies:
Where the elemental began his climb is what appears to be hollow chimney behind the handholds that have been destroyed. This chimney is quite a squeeze, but is quite an easier climb. Behind the chimney is an iron bracelet embedded in a piece of stone at dwarven eye level--on the bracelet is a black, obisdian owl.

Hon:
As the duergar rush to follow the dwarves south, the druid tells them to pursue but not engage. One of the duergar looks at the slashed armor and remarks, "Are you not a cleric, what is up with your armor?" The druid responds, "I did not expect to be attacked." After the duergar look at the druid suspiciously, they reluctantly join the pursuit, the druid speaks to Hon: "I don't know if you can hear me, but tell Rock his Duergar Ape is in the wind. This sure went poorly." With that, the druid flees down a side passageway.

Kib falls from the crumbling walllethal: 1d6 ⇒ 1 nonlethal: 1d6 ⇒ 4. He is not bleeding only knocked out for a while.

The duergar are chasing the rest of the dwarves to the ladder, and Joan seems to climbing easily up the corner. The elemental seemed content with destroying a portion of the handholds from twenty to sixty feet up.

The party is together except for the gaseous Hon and the duergar are hanging back about hundred feet away behind tower shields out of the light.

Joan:

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

GM:
Is the chimney at ground level or around where Joan is?

Joan points out a chimney at ground level behind the former handholds. The passage of the elemental made it more obvious.

That means everyone can read the spoiler.

Joan:
HP: 34/34, NL: 0 | F: +3 (+4 vs. Environment), R: +7, W: +3 | Per:+13, Init: +3 | Arrows: 12, Laen: 16, Healer's Kit: 10
Liulfr:
HP: 24/24, NL: 0 | F: +5, R: +5, W: +2 | Per:+5, Init: +2

Can Joan come down in a controlled slide, or is it sheer?

Joan is eighteen seconds from the bottom with no danger.

Liulfr:

Joan sees the entrance to the tunnel and begins a slow careful descent.

Are we still in Initiative?

We are out of combat. The duergar are not pressing the action.

Alrighty then.

Once Joan reaches the bottom of the shaft she tells Gallack what she saw.

"Think, we can get Magnum and Kragg up with out too much delay?"

Ho, I dunno. Think these fat ol' goons will fit oop that?

"Huh? What?? Ow! Ooooh...Much better. Thanks Nar." Kib looks sideways as he slowly gets to his feet, apparently still just a little foggy despite the cleric's healing.

Shaking his head, the small Gnome glares up the chimney after the elemental "Right. Earth Elemental's. Next thing to put on ma list of things I Hate."

Then looking around and quickly surveying the scenario, he asks quietly "So, what's the plan now? Up this other chimney then?" as he speaks, he switches wands and, taking a second to properly gauge the distance, fires a bright pea-sized globe out of one of his wands. As he watches it's blazing progress he whispers "Meanwhile, Take That ye bastards!"

As the bead sails over their tower shields and heads, time seems to slow down as almost all eyes turn to follow it's progress until, a mere moment later, the bead explodes with great, fiery force. Most of those that followed the first bead, miss the second bead which had come almost immediately after it.

With the two massive explosions to keep them busy, Kib then uses the wand in his other hand to again fill up the space between the two parties with a mass of sticky webbing.

Goddamn half-size stone-headed thin-bearded bullette-brained ruddy-faced gnome.

Gallak deftly snags Kib's wand of rope trick and steps into the chimney, holding his length of rope in his other hand.

Magnum was critted. He is still negative.

Whatha...?

The gaseous image of Hon drifts upwards to blend in with the smoke residue of scorched dwarf. Flowing into the left over heat wave, he watches the ensuing drama. Perhaps an opportunity may yet avail itself.

chainmail:
Sigh. Life is too short. If the area is clear of combatants fore and aft of him, Hon may materialize and take potshots at the armored deuger from afar. The scorched darkdwarves may be properly backlit for nice target. Or he may try a bullrush from the rear.(nah, just kidding).

Joan's shot misses.

Hon:
As Hon moves forward he sees the fireball engulf the advanced duergar. One of the duergar barks an order in undercommon to attack, and the orders of the druid to hold back are forgotten. Hon estimates that the amount of duergar still rushing to the opening are at least 20. Appearing now would be dangerous.

Khazad sighs heavily as he arrives to the exit, either from running in plate armor or from seeing the casualties. "Anyone else needs carrying?"
When the fireballs explode behind, he seems confused. "Do we climb up or keep on fighting?"

Damn poison.

A wee bit o' fog and a goodly dose of tha' webbing should slow 'em down while we climb outta this pit, eh?
Gallak waits for the rope to ascend as far as it's likely to before starting his ascent.

"What??" the small sorcerer responds testily to the female ranger "Did I miss something and these evil bastards are not our enemies anymore? Didja think they'd just leave us to leave all peaceful-lie? Bah! Better tae blast 'em while they're far away as the up-close-and-personal approach obviously didn't work out so well."

In response to Khazad's question and the other's responses Kib answers grimly "Ye all begin climbing with the wounded. I'll hold these buggers off."

He allows Gallak to snatch the wand, but frowns when he sees how the misinformed bard intends to use it.

Okay, we almost exactly 31 rounds from when Joan appeared on the scene. So I am calling the current round 31. As people can be busy on the weekend, I will move things along Monday if everyone hasn't acted.

Gallak is currently climbing, hoping to affix pitons every so often to keep any fatal falls from occurring. He'll take ten whenever he can, ascending at the rate of 10' per move, or 10' per round when he can take ten.

Every twenty feet, he affixes a piton, taking up that round's movement.
