Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
At that Rhialla lets out a snicker bordering on a giggle.
"I'll bet."
Siera Saltwater
Too bad I cunnent find ya last night, sweet cheeks. When we're both back on deck I'll give ya a good, hard ride too. It's a promise.
Although her boast is accompanied by a snigger, it's clear Siera fully acknowledges the possibility of one of them dying on a sailor's blade by the end of the day.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
"Guess I'll have to hold you to it"
TarkXT
Lorn's bolts find targets more or less as her first shot is responded with a satifying yell from an unfortunate sailor on the opposite side. With remarkable accuracy her little crossbow continues to find targets to puncture and before the ships even make contact one of the crosbowmen are down.
Sylvestra bolts find similar luck as another sailor goes down. As the rest buff, pray, or mutter to their weapons in the eventual desire for blood thirst.
As the boats collide you hold fast while the screams of battle, the sound of grapples hitting wood and planks being laid down to cross echo around you. Orders in Rahadoumi are shouted to sailors and like it or not you've just committed an offense punishable by hanging in about 90% of the world (the other two places punish it with dismemberment and beheading, and at least one place punishes it in much more gruesome fashions).
With battle joined it's now or never.

SCURVY PIRATES ARE UP!
MAP IS IN THE DESCRIPTION ABOVE!
NOTES ABOUT THIS FIGHT!: The ship is covered entirely ina number of fog cloud spells. This means that a 20% miss chance exists for anyone you are adjacent to and 50% for anyone farther than that. You can choose to go around and take the plan to the west but other pirates are pouring over it thus the terrain below the aft deck where you are is considered hindering due to the chaos happening there. Jumping is also an option, simply bear in mind the price for failure.
Mugwort the Goblin
Mugwort gets ready, holding his blunderbuss in his left hand and his axe in the right. He climbs to the top of the railing near him and lets out a Goblinish whoop of joy/rage/terror/fear and leaps across to the enemy vessel's dinghy!
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
As he flies, he screams out a Goblin war song!
"Goblins cut and goblins bite!
Goblins maim and goblins fight!
Cut the sailors, smash they head!
Pirates here and YOU BE DEAD!"
If he lands sucessfully and has any actions left, he readies a handaxe attack at the first sailor to get close! Axe attack!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 +1 attack if no allies are adjacent!

Finding the odds of hitting an enemy unlikely, Siera picks up the grappling hook and awaits for the moment.
Why, ya wanna a ride, halfpint? If so I'll tell ya the same I told pretty boy there last night: Hang on tight, it's gunna be a rough ride!
Grappling hook roll: 1d20+2+1
Did Siera's grappling hook toss catch? If so, Lorn will not chance the sharks in the water nor the ones on main deck. Acrobatic to cling to Siera and drop to other side? 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Round 5: HP 10/10, AC12
Reloading the crossbow to shoot at what she has no idea. A quick glance into the maelstrom of combatants on the deck below her, not that she could discern pirate from sailors in this fog; all of whom were inclined to split her in twain. A fast movement catches her eye and an caterwauling goblin song offends her ears. "Easiest decision yet on this tub. Move to next tub. Siera! Were you successful? I'll take that ride."
Siera Saltwater
Thinking she should feel scared, Siera smiles exhilarated. At a moment like this, luck favors the bold and the fool, and gods know she's both. Taking a last look at Rhialla, Siera feels the need for a quick prayer.
Watch this, b!%+~ queen. Watch this battle and know every drop of blood shed by my fists is dedicated to you. Watch and wet yourself, you filthy whore.
Satisfied with her exemplar devotion, Siera hangs tight on the rope attached to the hook, takes a few steps back, grabbing the halfling, and...

...jumps through the space between the ships, hoping to face her enemies.

Seeing Siera flash her a look of pure recklessness, a laugh begins to bubble up from Rhialla's throat as she sends a dagger of water that freezes in midair, hurtling into the mist on the other ship, hoping to at least cover their trip across.

Ryzern
Sigh...I suppose it will look better if I am on the other boat.
Ryzern ducks and scrambles to the rail unlimbering the enchanted grapnel as he does.
With a quick toss the magic in the steel takes hold and the grapnel sets itself solidly in the yardarm or the embattled merchantman.
{Not sure of how the actions will play out but Ryzerns next goal is to climb up the rope into the prey's rigging. climb check if needed: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3. Lumbering foward, Mumbata yells out a roar. Unlike the others Mumbata did not hold with the Pirate Queen. His was a god of the earth, seas and spirits. It was many gods and none. They would not understand. What was happening here today was a tragity. One that Mumbata wished he did not have to take part it. Such was the way of life and he would deal with the consquences later. Plugg and his vile stoodge scourge would pay. Of that Mumbata was for sure. All would pay for their deeds, in this life or the next.
Grunting as his foot hit the deck, Mumbata threw himself into the frey. Between his besital claws and extended jaw Mumbata looked more beast then man.

Lorn Butterrum
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Releasing her hold, Lorn lands clear of the acrobatic wall of pain that is called Siera. Checking to see she is not in immediate danger, hopefully the fog hides her from combatants. She knows she nailed one of the crossbowman earlier, she needs some different colored bolts. Working her way to the gunnel, she starts her search.

Well. Now I feel silly. A bit o'retcon, if it pleases you master TarkXT?
Releasing her hold, Lorn lands clear of the acrobatic wall of pain that is called Siera. Checking to see she is not in immediate danger, hopefully the fog hides her from combatants. Nice. I'll throw you a bone here and have it not be one of the officers. Since most of them could wipe out the party by themselves if made upset.
RESULTS OF ROUND 1
Mugworts boom stick finds skin to mar. But little more than annoy his foes with minor bee stings.
Rhialla finds more luck with her rapier as she rushes in and darts a quick slash across a sailors arm. Grunting in pain he responds with a stab to her midsection with a stab from his short sword and falls short as Rhialla uses the superior reach of her rapier to keep him off target.
Mumbata lumbers forward unable to pick out tarets at the full reach of his spear and tries to cuff one of the shocked sailors off the stern. He regains his senses just quick enough to dive back into the fog before reaching out with his short sword and finding nothing but air in his fear.
Siera's little plan works perfectly and bare handed she kills another Rahadoumi sailor and his comrade starts to reconsider straight up combat with her as he reaches out and shoves his short sword underneath her arm pit scoring a deep wound 4 damage but not doing much to stop her.
Lorn's own efforts at removing future liabilities from whatever plots go on behind her eyeballs finds success as Fipps Chumlett the fat arse flies off the plank with a muffled cry followed by a satisfying splash and further cries of shock and horror as the sharks answer the dinner bell.
Two of the Rahadoumi sailors draw blades and join the fray in a ditch effort to protect the wheel and the siege engines that may yet help stave off the assault. Both find their marks as with a cry they find flesh with their blades. Rhialla takes 5 damage while Siera takes 7 damage

A bare, black foot leaves the wood to find purchase in the kneecap of the nearest sailor, shattering bone and cartilage. As her enemy screams from the pain, Siera plants a powerful hook punch on the sailor's windpipe, cutting off his voice (and probably life). Taking a step back, the fighter gathers her breath for another assault.
Lorn Butterrum
TarkXt, I(we?) appreciate the non-wiping-out-the-party bone you tossed Lorn.:-)
Round 2
A sly satisfied grin sneaks onto Lorn's face as she listens to Fipps panicked struggle in the waters below. This is quickly wiped away with consternation hearing Siera cry of pain. A last glimpse at the fog enshrouded plank, calculating her chances of another opportunity over a loss of Siera. Lorn could not forgive herself if she could've done something. A snarl escapes her lips, she turns and approaches the battle behind her with a cocked crossbow. She braces against the oddly placed fleshy mast (Q32/Q33) to fire at a foggy sailor.

Rending and tearing, gnashing and biting, Mumbata threw himself into the frey. Over his right shoulder a crossbow bolt narrowly whizzed by, causing the man to recoil before turning back into the onslaught. Throughout the smoky expanse of the ship, Mumbata cursed to himself. He hated this, This was not what combat was supposed to be. He knew at that moment he would not kill the sailors because the vile captain of the Wormwood had told him too. Letting his claws flash forward towards one of the sailors, Mumbata turned the rake at the last second trying to knock the man out rather than savage him. He would not be a slave to these men. A petite Lorn steps away from the enlarged enraged Mumbata, she feels even smaller as the towering monstrosity is swallowed by the fog, accompanied by screams from the shadowed figures she missed. Then it all quiets down in front of her. "Yeah... Reload."
