I have to say, I love the touches for the PCs in this campaign. Kadan's near-unassailable optimism and cheer, Brother Kendram's working Libra into everything, and Kuhl's *unique* intellect. And of course GM BrOp's adaption of the source material, expanding where needed.
Good work, all!

I'm enjoying all the characters as well, although I do wish you hadn't all picked names that start in K :). When this is all over, you might want to check out the "Sorcery!" video game available on Steam. I'm using the encounters in that game to flesh out this one even more.

Kuhl Stripewolf |

*sigh* I knew. It's my fault really...
I'll have to check out the Sorcery game. Also there is a Warlock of Firetop Mountain app/game with actual graphics...all the others are just emulated books...

I am away from my computer until next Tuesday and will be posting tersely from my phone. Don't take it personally, everyone.

Brother Kendram |

Posting this to all my games: Sorry for the lack of posting. For the second time this year, I got the flu, and the internet is out at my house right now (where it has been for the last two days). It should hopefully be resolved by Monday, and if not I'm going to switch ISPs. Please feel free to bot me until I am back up and running, and if I am running your game, I haven't forgotten about you!

Kuhl Stripewolf |

Hey, take your time - I'm absolutely fine with you exploring the cave. Kuhl has nuts to chew, quips to make and a stuffy cleric to sit with and accidentally annoy with his distinct lack of religion.

Hi folks,
Thank you for bearing with my absence of late, but things have been very busy and will likely get busier.
I've already mentioned that I'll be moving very soon, so I thought I'd give you some updates.
First, I wanted to tell all of you that my family and I will be moving for work to the small island of Yap in the western Pacific this summer. Yap is part of a small atoll that is part of the Federated States of Micronesia, and is quite remote. The closest "mainland" are the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. FYI, careful Googling Yap at work, as the traditional dress there is NSFW.
To complicate things further, we're being forced to move out of our current home by the end of May (it was sold) and will be living with friends and relatives until we finally leave for Micronesia at the beginning of August.
What this means for the game is that my posting will be sparse between now (actually from a few weeks ago) and when we get ourselves established in Micronesia in August. I'm not exactly sure when in August because the work is handling the relocation and hasn't given us our tickets yet, and also because I don't know how long it will take me to get the internet up and running in Yap (although I'm glad to know there IS internet).
I'd like everyone to vote and let me know what you prefer we do with this game. The choices are:
A) "Yes, let's keep the game running with less frequent posting until August!"
B) "Nah, too frustrating, let's put the game on hold until August."
C) "Sorry, I've already lost interest as this doesn't work for me. Let's call it quits."
Feel free to chime in if you see other options or have other comments.
Thanks,
BrOp

Heh, Yap. I worked in Palau for a little while, it is a beautiful part of the world.
I vote "A".

GM BrOp |

@GM
It looks like you're stuck with us. :)
To quote Huey Lewis and the News: "I am happy to be stuck with you". :)

GM BrOp |

Today is the big moving day, the Day of the Truck. Wish me luck! My presence online should increase after today.

GM BrOp |

Truk? I thought it was Yap? ;)
Hey, Micronesian humor, I get it!
Thanks again for your patience. We've now arrived at our temporary home for the summer where we'll be staying until we travel overseas at the end of July.

Wait until you have to pay for something with a coin-wheel as big as a house. Though if I remember corectly that is a marriage currency...

Seriously, plus try to go swimming while wearing your "change purse".

Hi folks,
I know, it's been a very, very, very, long time, but you deserve to know what happened to me.
Well, I finally made it to the small island of Yap in Micronesia, and am now working as a high school teacher. We had terrible luck with the local folks hooking up our internet, and didn't get it finally connected until a few weeks ago.
Apologies for disappearing. Even with a bad internet connection I could have still let you know what was going on; that's my bad. A combination of guilt and shame kept me away from the forums after I had been incommunicado for a few weeks. That's just an explanation, however, not an excuse.

GM BrOp |

I just pulled this back from the "inactive" list.
It seems that Kadan and Kuhl are interested in giving the game another try, while Brother Kendram is out. Should we just push ahead with the two remaining PCs, or try to recruit someone else?

Kuhl Stripewolf |

Only saw your post just now - don't feel bad - you did tell us you were going away to Micronesia after all...
I'm not sure I'm still keen to play without Brother Kendram, unless we can find another replacement. I know the game-comcept was originally a solo affair, I'm just not sure Kadan and Kuhl can survive it all together...Also I like the triad of personalities we had going on...

GM BrOp |

OK, sounds like we try for recruitment. As for "survivability", I was already adjusting the challenges to fit a group your size, so adjusting it for a group of 2 instead of 3 would not be that tricky.
I'll post something in the recruitment thread.
