I looked shocked at the new scenery, 'Well. this is very different. But still beautiful in its own way, if I was a painter of skill, I would definitely have to paint this view. Unfortunately, painting is one of the many things I am unable to do, Shelyn forgive me.'

I may have to get used to that view, if the tome is not in this city, then I shall have to venture out in search of it. If that is the case I will have to head back and inform Qilue that I will be gone a while. I hope she will understand, if it comes down to it.

I look at the area in awe, having never been on the other side of the gates. After recovering my composure, I turn to the others.

So, where should we start?

Karethas strokes his beard thoughtfully. He believes he looks very wise when he does so, though in reality it just draws attention to the fact that the beard seems a little thin due to his youth. "Well, we know Gilad was involved in a spice trade and that he wished to return to Thuvia. Perhaps we should ask around for Thuvian merchants or those who deal exporting spice from the city?"

Is that reasonable?

Technically Dog Town is outside the gates, but it is a squalid place pinched between the walls and the hills. The Daystalls open up to the rest of the country and is more impressive. You recall that the scribe said the business they were going to had 'Platinum' in its name.

I wonder if Gilad was of noble birth such that his kidnapping would be worth something? Well, lets find this Platinum business we are looking for, we gotta find this before that jerk with the imps will give us any more information.

'That is a good point, I really don't want to have to put up with those little devils stabbing me again. I still feel a little clumsy after the last time they got me. If you search over there and I will go this way and see if we can get any information about this Platinum business.'

Diplomacy (Gather information on the Platinum business) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Fool's luck perhaps, but even before Kzrira can walk over to the nearest shop, a merchant wanders over to Faelar, "Is it the Platinum Assurance you are looking for young master? Pardon, but I overheard you. Their wagon is over there, across Broken Plank Bridge, third wagon on the right after Cheeho the talking dog, before you get to Datorro's."

'Ah, thank-you; kind sir, for your timely help in our investigation. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.' I bow to the man in a sign of respect and thanks.

Karethas' face shows faint shock as the merchant walks away. "Perhaps we should just announce our questions aloud in the middle of the street, hoping that the answer presents itself out of the cosmos." He clears his throat, "Great Cosmos, where is Gilad right now?" Spreading his arms, Karethas looks up to the sky in silence for a moment. Eventually he lowers his arms smiling, "Or maybe we should just go speak to someone at this Platinum Assurance."

The state of revelation being what it is in the Age of Lost Omens, the adventurers quickly determine that they had better continue their investigation. The sun is bright overhead as they reach a wagon with a sign in silver paint that reads "Platinum Assurance".

Stairs lead up to a closed door and the top part of the near side of the wagon is hinged at the top so it can be raised to create an awning above a long window creating a service counter. A sharp looking Garundi man stands behind the counter awaiting commerce.

Ummmm....well if I could see him, then yes I could neutralize him." Seeing the thugs being handled ably by his companions (and wishing to avoid any sharp, pointy implements heading in his direction), Karethas moves quickly over to the door of the wagon. With a quick flick of my wrist, all the blood that had managed to stain my rapier, finds itself on the floor. I take out a cloth and start to wipe the remaining blood off of my blade. 'It would be a lot better for you if you were to come out now. Your 3 friends have all fallen, so please do not make us break your door down. All we wanted to start with was answers and once we get them I shall leave you alone. You have my word as a Pathfinder.'

That is my turn, by the way. No idea what else to do.

Kzrira's thug block her strike and swings feebly at her in return as he collapses coughing up blood. The last thug staggers to his knees striking Faelar sharply in the shin with his club before he falls unmoving on the ground. Faelar-2 hp. NOW all the thugs are dead.

THere is no response from the wagon.

Karethas moves from the rear of the wagon to it's far side, making sure no one is attempting to flee. After hearing Amir's request, I walk around the wagon, looking for any more doors. At seeing Karethas kneel down to look under the wagon, I also look underneath, to see what he is looking at.

I have not studied the finer workings of the body, I may have to find a book that I can read to learn about that though.'

Karethas unfortunately bumps his head bending down to look under the wagon. Faelar starts to walk around the wagon and spots the shifty merchant duck into the crowd that has gathered around the scene of the fight.

Male Elf Bard - 1

'FOUND HIM, OVER HERE! HE IS GETTING AWAY THROUGH THE CROWD!' I point towards the direction that the man is fleeing, so my friends can also see. Then I start to mumble a few words and begin to weave some complex hand signs. About 30 feet in front of the fleeing man, appears another me, out of no where, facing towards him. (Cast Silent Image and projected myself). Once the image is up I shall start to follow the man with my friends.

Hopefully that will give us a little more time to catch up to him.

"Damnation!" Karethas stands up holding his forehead. At Faelar's words he moves towards the fleeing merchant, his hands and mouth begin the ancient formulations. Circles of arcane symbols form around his head and mouth, and suddenly the energy is gone, spent. A thick layer of grease forms on the ground under and in front of the merchant. "Watch your footing.", he mutters to his friends near him.
