Round 2

A bright flash of light erupts from Raven's hand and one of the goblins grabs its face and screams.

Calendir's arrow sinks into the goblin's chest. It grunts and looks down in amazement at the arrow before falling forward onto its face.

Round 3

Order:

Aurora
Omoro
Goblin
Nadja
Raven
Welby
Jotune
Calendir

The blinded goblin screams and flails about for a few moments, before Aurora's arrow silences the pitiful creature.

Omoro lets fly an arrow, but it only strikes the mud and muck of the pit.

The remaining goblin, wounded by Jotune's arrow, dives back through one of the pipes.

Everyone can give me more actions. Omoro, the action you listed above is now not possible so give me a new one please.

Lantern Lodge

HP 13/16, AC 16/13/13, F +1, R +6, W +2, Init +3, Per +9 (low-light), Ki Pool: 3

Omoro shoulders his bow again, and looks back at his compatriots. "We need to get moving. They are aware of our intrusion now. Be prepared to meet resistance." Omoro climbs up the rope he recently placed, and enters into the crawlspace above the muck.

HP 17/17, AC 16/13/13 F+4, R+4, W+3; Init +4, Per. +2

Jotune keeps his arrow nocked. "If everyone is going up the rope, then go. I'll keep the group covered while you climb."

{HP 12/12 | AC 12 T12 FF10 CMD14 | F/R/W 1/2/3 | Inish+2 Per+0 SM+8} Female Peri Blooded Aasimar Illusionist 1

Raven follows up the ladder in the order specified by Nadja earlier. "Haste does seem to be in order if we wish to retain any advantage we attempted to earn."

Shade Psion 18

You mean rope, right Raven? Am I correct in assuming that everyone climbs up into the area above?

{HP 12/12 | AC 12 T12 FF10 CMD14 | F/R/W 1/2/3 | Inish+2 Per+0 SM+8} Female Peri Blooded Aasimar Illusionist 1

Yes, rope sorry.

The Exchange

I will try to climb.

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

Yep, correct, will be trying to climb the rope

(Female Human Witch 2 AC 12(16)/12(16)/10(14)/ HP 14 / F +1 R +2 W +3 (+2 vs Illusions) / Init. +2 / Perc. +5)

Going up the rope, need a climb check?

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

Rolling it just for the sake of it in case it is needed.

Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Shade Psion 18

I am going to assume that the rope has a wall to brace against. The DC is 5. Thus, unless the goblin reappears and threatens you, everyone can scramble up the rope with a take 10.

You all climb up into the crawlspace above. A hole in the ceiling of the room below, the one you came through, provides access to this area. Rafter beams extend across the area to the opposite side. The area is poorly lit, with only the light from the arrow sunk into the underside of the slats providing any light.

The slats themselves don't look very sturdy, unlike the rafters.

The Exchange

Welby casts light on his whip.

Shade Psion 18

The area lights up brightly after Welby casts his spell. Around 10 feet ahead of you, the slats disappear altogether, along with some of the rafters, the only ones that remain are charred.

Female Human (Elven heritage) Archer (Fighter )1

"Doesn't look like much way to go forward. Aurora mutters, nocking another arrow.

(Female Human Witch 2 AC 12(16)/12(16)/10(14)/ HP 14 / F +1 R +2 W +3 (+2 vs Illusions) / Init. +2 / Perc. +5)

Eyeing the missing slats and charred rafters Nadja gives a nod of agreement. If we try to cross here some of us might fall and become separated from the group. It's too risky The arrogant witch murmurs looking back from where they came. Right, I had hoped we could move through the rafters and avoid alerting our target but this route is not going to work. Spitting from their perch into the collapsed floor below Nadja sighs Bertholdt would have been useful right now. It seemed like he could only think with his sword. I suppose we will have to do it the old fashion way then. Time to start kicking down doors. Kill everyone, eventually we will find Natayla. She will be forced to fight or run. Either way we will take her. Agreed? Asks the witch as she begins to move towards the grappled rope back towards the collapsed room.

Lantern Lodge

HP 13/16, AC 16/13/13, F +1, R +6, W +2, Init +3, Per +9 (low-light), Ki Pool: 3

Omoro nods in agreement with Nadja's threat assessment. "Understood, Nadja-san. Unfortunate that so many will have to die, but such is life. And death." Omoro climbs back down the rope, unlimbering his shortbow to prepare for a snap shot should the goblins return.

HP 17/17, AC 16/13/13 F+4, R+4, W+3; Init +4, Per. +2

"Who is going to try to cross that plank? At least two of us need to guard those two tunnels, as whoever is on the plank is a sitting duck for them."

{HP 12/12 | AC 12 T12 FF10 CMD14 | F/R/W 1/2/3 | Inish+2 Per+0 SM+8} Female Peri Blooded Aasimar Illusionist 1

Raven grimaces slightly but holds her tongue. She understood her chosen path would lead to violence, but that didn't mean she didn't desire a peaceful solution. Never the less, they had a mission as she followed down the rope.

Shade Psion 18

You all clamber back down the rope. The room is as you left it, but the sounds of the goblin that retreated into the pipes can be heard as soft shuffling noises.

Shade Psion 18

Anyone going to do anything?

(Female Human Witch 2 AC 12(16)/12(16)/10(14)/ HP 14 / F +1 R +2 W +3 (+2 vs Illusions) / Init. +2 / Perc. +5)

Remembering Calendir's previous comment Nadja adjusts her tone sightly Ok, same as before. Calendir and Omoro, across the plank please, Check the door and we will follow in behind as before.

{HP 12/12 | AC 12 T12 FF10 CMD14 | F/R/W 1/2/3 | Inish+2 Per+0 SM+8} Female Peri Blooded Aasimar Illusionist 1

While Nadja politely provides instruction, Raven casts an incantation to check for magical auras.

Cast Detect Magic, looking at door ahead. Couldn't remember if already done.

Lantern Lodge

HP 13/16, AC 16/13/13, F +1, R +6, W +2, Init +3, Per +9 (low-light), Ki Pool: 3

Omoro nocks an arrow and carefully steps onto the plank, watching it for signs of weakness. If he sees none, he continues onwards. "Cover those tunnels, Aurora-san. Calendir-san and I are excellent targets while we cross."

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

Drawing his Greatsword, Calendir starts moving across the plank without another word.

DM Bound Shade, any roll needed?

HP 17/17, AC 16/13/13 F+4, R+4, W+3; Init +4, Per. +2

Jotune keeps his bow trained on the pipes, ready to strike if the situation called for it. "Be careful up there. I wouldn't want to fall into that stinky mess..."

Shade Psion 18

@Calendir: Yup, but I'll roll it for you and Omoro.

Omoro and Calendir glide across the board, while the sounds of the goblin still emanate from the pipes below. They examine the door for any suspicious signs, however neither finds anything out of place about the door.

Omoro:
Although nothing seems to be wrong with the door, you do manage to barely hear the distant sounds of someone whispering on the other side of the door.

Raven:
You don't pick up any magical auras.

Dice:

Calendir's Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Omoro's Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Calendir's Perception Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Omoro's Perception Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

With a nod to Omoro, Calendir whispers - If it is unlocked, I am going to break it down...

He then quietly listens at the door for any sounds coming from the room beyond it.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Female Human (Elven heritage) Archer (Fighter )1

After Omoro and Raven cross, Aurora makes her way across carefully

Shade Psion 18

Calendir:
Although nothing seems to be wrong with the door, you do manage to barely hear the distant sounds of someone whispering on the other side of the door.

Aurora manages to cross the plank and stops behind Calendir and Omoro.

Dice:

Aurora's Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

HP 17/17, AC 16/13/13 F+4, R+4, W+3; Init +4, Per. +2

"The rest of you go ahead...I'll hold the rear, then cross."

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

Whispering to the others - I hear whispers behind the door - be ready to fire...

He will first check if the door is locked, if not he will try to swing it open, to allow ranged to fire into the room, if it is locked, he will try to bash it down as fast as possible

STR check?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

{HP 12/12 | AC 12 T12 FF10 CMD14 | F/R/W 1/2/3 | Inish+2 Per+0 SM+8} Female Peri Blooded Aasimar Illusionist 1

"I see no auras upon it as well." Raven will stay towards the middle of the group as planned.

The Exchange

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Shade Psion 18

Calendir flings the door open and through the filtered light on Welby's whip, he can see that the floor of this room has fallen away, leaving a narrow, charred ledge along the south and east walls. To the northwest, a ledge heaped with crates and barrels sits, while above the rafters of the attic lay bare to view. A pair of goblins pop up on the other side of the crates, aiming too-large crossbows at the doorway.

Initiative:

Calendir: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Raven: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Welby: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Jotune: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Aurora: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Omoro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Nadja: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Goblins: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Order:

Welby
Nadja

So, Raven, Omoro, Welby, and Nadja all go before the goblins. Actions please.

Fire an arrow at the ugly one!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Giving a dismissive gesture Nadja wills the goblin not targeted by Omoro to fall to sleep.

The Exchange

Welby begins spurring his companions again. (RD2 of 8)

Round 1

Raven's bolt of blinding light streaks across the room, but strikes the wall well above the goblins' heads.

The arrow form Omoro's bow sinks into the crate in front of one of the goblins, and the creature yelps in surprise, the impromptu cover just barely saving its life.

Welby's words bolster his companions' resolve, their weapons feeling just a bit more precise and easy to wield in their hands.

Nadja gestures at the goblin and the creature disappears behind the crate, its loud snoring the only other clue that it has fallen dead asleep.

The remaining wake goblin takes aim at Omoro and looses a crossbow bolt. The bolt sinks into the wood of the doorframe, just barely missing the tengu as he pulls back from the open doorway.

I've got Jotune's action. I need Aurora's and Calendir's. Raven, Omoro, Welby, and Nadja, feel free to include actions for the next round under the header, Round 2.

Dice:

Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14 vs DC 17 Fail

Flatfooted AC 18+? That's not good.

"Come on, cursed bakemono, stick your misshapen head out again," Omoro mutters under his breath as he prepares to fire another shot, loosing once the goblin pops up again to fire at them.

Mechanics:

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Its likely due to the cover

In the cramped space Aurora fires, trying to adjust for the angle and cover of the enemy.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d10 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

We cannot stay in this bottleneck...

Calendir moves forward, following around the ledge that seems to take him in the shortest path towards the entrenched goblins.

Rolling Acrobatics if needed

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

Bump - are we here? :D

Round 1

Aurora and Jotune both fire arrows at the goblin across the way, but their arrows go wide and sink into the wall beyond.

Calendir skirts the edge of the room, making it to the otherside of the crates that the goblins are behind. You can see both, although they still have cover.

Round 2

Omoro fires another arrow at the goblin still awake behind the crates. The arrow sinks into the goblin's neck and the small, green menace drops to the ground.

Actions please. They combat's effectively over unless someone doesn't coup de grace the sleeping goblin in the next couple of rounds.

Male Half-elf HP: -4/9

Ok, so one is asleep and the other is dead

Seeing the menaces terminated, Calendir surveys the scene for other potential threats.

If he finds none, he will proceed in tying up and gagging the sleeping goblin, for interrogation if needed.

If he perceives further threats, I will react accordingly - let me know if any Perception rolls are needed

HP 17/17, AC 16/13/13 F+4, R+4, W+3; Init +4, Per. +2

Jotune follows Cal and helps secure the goblin. "We've got him, now what are we going to do with the little mongrel?"
