Gaza walks in behind Rona and carefully looks around, examining everything carefully and looking for other exits to this room, and hiding places(for stuff that might be hidden, since she doesn't know about the woman).

Tare |

Nothing in the room detects as evil.

Torr |

Torr, clearly fascinated, cannot control his fascination with this incredible find, and slips into the room. But his first instinct is still caution. "Best not touch anything here til we are sure of what we have found."
He carefully looks around for any sign of anything or anyone alive. Then if he finds nothing, he examines the runes and what seems to be a magical circle of some kind.
perception 1d20+6
knowledge arcana or spellcraft, whichever, both are the same +9 1d20+9Once the circle is thoroughly examined, he moves to the desk to look for notes on what the circle might be and who might have been making/using the circle and the laboratory.
His fingers twitch as he works, and his mind is working furiously. I'd rather check out this lab, and see what is being made here, but best err on the side of caution first. Find any notes the alchemist might have left before I start in on the actual lab itself. I just hope Elarya doesn't destroy anything in haste before I can get to it.
He examines the desk and its contents as rapidly as he can while still being thorough.
Tare you never responded to this post made earlier - does Torr see/read/detect nothing at all when he examines the circle and the desk? The rolls were 18 for perception and 22 for knowl. arcana

Gaza roll a will save DC15 when you touch the smaller crystal piece.
Rona and Noya, you will recognize the language as abyssal. The book starts off on written notes of someone attempting to find an easy means to give someone presumably a mortal, immortality. There are diagrams of various forms of undead and side notes presumably of experiments to alter the nature of them. The book progresses through other magical means before going on about some kind of other realm energy they suddenly stumbled across that had vast amounts of potential. It suddenly refers to a visit it made to the other realm to try and bring back a creature for study but the results were disappointing. It muses a means to summon a creature in with diagrams that match that on the floor but there are no further notes beyond that.
Torr you saw the same as Gaza, he circle is the same appearing like a summoning circle but you don't know the language that the book is written in.

Torr |

ok thanks, you just never answered so I thought maybe you never saw my post. In that case, by the time everyone else arrives, since he didn't recognize the language of the writings, Torr would have moved on to the alchemical nature of the laboratory, trying to determine what was being done here. Wait - DId Torr see the crystal piece too (remember, he never saw or touched the first one like everyone else did, so this would be his first encounter with one. He would probably have picked it up to at least examine it if he saw it, whatever effect that might or might not have.
knowl. alchemy 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Torr |

Torr answers as honestly as he can, based on what he knows as yet. "So far, a magical circle of some kind, some unreadable books and papers, a piece of crystal and an alchemical lab with as yet to be determined experiments of some kind. Nothing specific yet, Aylya."

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

I look at the circle then flick through the book, "I know this writing, do you not? Is this not the language we are speaking? Anyway, the book tells that someone thinks they found a means of immortality, by going to another plane. That didn't work so they brought it here, via that circle of diagrams. Nobody cross the circle in case it does something."

Torr |

while waiting on Gaza's will save... any chance of addressing my post?

Torr, I saw your post, generally speaking I wasn't going to let you know until Gaza had her chance with is since she posted about messing with them first. I am not ignoring you, your chance will come. Also the alchemist lab was just a typical one, nothing out of the ordinary.

Torr |

Torr runs over to Gaza to see what happened to her. He checks to see if she is alright.
heal check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Seeing what happened, he declines to touch the crystal she handled, and leaves that to others. He tries to wake her by sprinkling a little water on her face from his waterskin. "Wake up, Gaza."
Silly girl, touching strange things without any knowledge of them. Ah, Torr, you might have done the same if you'd found it first, leave the girl some slack.

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

I rush over the Gaza and shake her shoulder gently, "Wake up Demon, what happened to you?"
Heal (Untrained) : 1d20 ⇒ 11
Seeing this other man asking her to wake up I realise what he said, "So the Demon's name is Gaza? I'm Rona, according to my sister. Who are you?"

Torr |

"Yes, she's Gaza, and I'm Torr." He must have missed them earlier when everyone was recalling their names. Is that why he's been so silent most of the time? Because he didn't know anyone's name?
"I hope she's gonna be okay. She just touched that crystal and fell unconscious." He nods towards the fallen piece of crystal lying on the grond. [b]"Rona, do you think you can wrap it up in this piece of cloth without touching it?"

Torr |

"Gaza, perhaps you shouldn't touch the crystal again with your bare hands," pTorr says.
He stands up and goes back to the alchemy lab. "There's nothing out of the ordinary here, alchemically speaking. The circle on the floor and the writings in the books and papers seem to be completely separate from the lab itself which is quite mundane. Whatever happened to the person I saw flee into this room, it had nothing to do with alchemy as far as i can tell."

Gaza |

LOL No asked me for my name yet! oh well.
"I must touch it again, after I prepare myself first. I saw people, like the first crystal, only these people were talking and one of them hit me with lightning."
Gaza stood back up immediately but simply wrapped the two crystals in cloth for now.

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

The reason I have been calling Gaza, Demon, is because I didn't think she had said what her name was, all she said was "Us Demons".
I go to wrap the crystal up, but go to pick it up with my hand ... until I remember that is what put Gaza on the floor. I take the time to get a piece of cloth out and just as I reach in to pick it up, Gaza swipes it up quickly in a piece of cloth that she pulled from somewhere. I look up to her, "First crystal? People in a crystal? Talking people ... in a crystal? Did you hit your head or are there some people that live in crystals?"

Tare |

No, but now that we are on it... if you guys roll for something and I don't post. Either you found nothing or I am waiting for something current to finish, I really do keep regular track even when I can't quite post yet. Sorry if there is long gaps but I like to wait for certain people to have a chance to post while some of you seem to have time for several a day.

Gaza |

"Not in the crystals, they are visions... or a link to somewhere. Yes, a link to somewhere makes more sense after this second crystal. A way to see somewhere without being there I think, though I can't be sure."
Gaza puts the crystals in her pack for now.
"We can study these more later for now lets examine this building and see what else we can find. You should take that book it might be useful later." She points to the book that spelled out the experiments.

Aylya Lafina |

Aylya heads, as she gets close her form changes and soon only a small pale elf can be seen entering the room.
"I could find nothing and no one outside around here, this seems to be the only place of interest, Have you found any thing Brother?"

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

I look to Aylya enter the room, "Demon saw some people in the crystal, who weren't in the crystal ... It confuses me but it could be a link to somewhere else, without being there? Like a window I guess? Torr thinks the person who ran in here didn't disappear because of the stuff on the table, what person that is I don't know. We have a circle of writings; that I can read but no-one else can, and a book with the same writings that mentioned summoning, immortality and dead things that are not dead."
I head over to the book and put it into my backpack. I turn back to face Aylya, "As we are brother and sister, does that mean I can turn into a bear too?"

Aylya Lafina |

"No, brother the great bear chose me when we where small, You had all ready been chosen by the way of the sword by then and had done to our Father to learn war skills. "
Aylya points at the cleaned and oiled sword
"Even with your memories lost have you not wundered why that sword you found feels like a part of you."

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

"So am I your big brother ... or little brother? My body remembers how to hold this blade, even if I cannot. Hopefully the memories will return soon."
I turn around, "Demon, Torr should we continue our search elsewhere or do you think there could be more clues here?" "Speaking still hurts a little, but a lot less than before. Maybe I am getting used to it, at least I know their names now. If only I could remember something, other than what I have been told. Why are they able to remember things and I cannot?"

Aylya Lafina |

"you are 12 Summers older than me Rona, you are my elder brother and if our farther.."
Aylya seems over come for a moment with emotion then she seems to steel herself
"My other has told me if our farther perished with the others then you are the head of our family"

Torr |

Torr shrugs slightly. "There seems to be nothing here left to examine. I would love to stay and use this laboratory, though it appears to be a normal and mundane lab, it is well stocked with equipment." He grins and runs his hand over a beaker or two, then shrugs again.
"But I'm sure we don't have time for such personal indulgences. We may have to resign ourselves to the idea that Honda may not return and we are on our own."
"Also, since this is probably a traveling or summoning circle of some kind, since someone or something DID run in here, this room might be someplace we'd want to keep our eye on from time to time at least while we are here in this city."
I think it would be an ideal place to make into a safehouse myself... lab, desk, what more could I want, though I suppose that circle does make it a might too dangerous for that.. He sighs for no apparent reason.

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

"...Me ... the head of a family? Lets hope Father is still alive then, big sister."
I look around the room, "If we can remove the circle from the floor, this could make a decent shelter. We all know where it is, it has walls and a roof, the door could be put back up and Torr could stay and use the laboratory and all of its equipment. We could even set up a word for if we go out to explore, then we will have to say the word before we are allowed into the house. That way no enemies will catch us off guard. What do you all think?"

Gaza |

"Sounds good but lets sketch this circle for future reference before we deface it, unless you want to leave it with only a minor break in the circle? Should make it useless while leaving it mostly intact, Of course the girl you saw may have used it to go through to the other side which would be why she is not here. If that is the case we may want to have this available later."

Torr |

"We'd better be sure it is unusable, not just open, in case something can still come thru and be free rather than contained because of a small break. But using this place as a shelter sounds good to me." Torr looks almost rapturously at the alchemical lab in the room and the idea of being able to use it at his leisure.
spellcraft or knowl arcana, same bonus, to know if it would be safe to use the room with the circle only slightly defaced. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Torr |

"Just defacing it a little bit should render it unusable. We don't need to destroy the entire thing. Though in truth, without knowing exactly what it does or how it works, there's not really a point in preserving any of it."
Torr moves over to the circle and rubs out a small section of it to make it useless. "There, that should take care of anything that might try to pop in and surprise us."

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

I think we are staying in the room, the circle is broken and we are safe for now.
I place my bag in a corner of the room and look up to the other people taking shelter in this building, "The safe word could be "Broken Circle"? Who would guess that?"
