From Amboy's quick once over, you're confident that the door is unlocked, but not trapped.
Meghan, you hear the faint sound of breathing, but not human breathing. Much more animalistic panting.

Meghan's eyes suddenly widen, and she holds up one finger to get the others' attention. She then goes into full pantomime mode, pointing first to her ear and then lolling her tongue while breathing through her mouth. She ends her performance by gnashing her teeth in a snarl. She feels confident her friends will get the message that she believes that perhaps Saul has brought in a watchdog or two during their absence from the Gold Goblin and that the beasts lurk nearby.

Meghan shrugs at the dwarf, nor certain if the panting she heard came from behind the door Amboy and Taton are checking or around the corner beyond it.
December 26th Update
The growling seems to be originating from behind the door, and peering down the corner, seems to be a series of connected hallways.
The floors are covered with sand and dried blood, but there's a small trail here. Subtle. Almost as if someone had tread here but erased them before....leaving?
