Nako shrugs at Quonx's query. "I dunno... lemme ask him."
She kneels down next to whatever chunk of ex-captain appears to be the head. "Captain? My friend wants to know if that hurt?"
DebugAMP |
Nako takes inventory of the zombie-captain's equipment, then searches the bridge for any clues about what happened.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Shifty |
Nako doesn't find anything of value, it seems that this person was fairly cybernetically enhanced, but something horrible has clearly happened to them...
The friendly voice of the ship pipes back in “Perhaps you aren’t really someone’s escaped pets after all. Then you are new passengers? You must be aboard the Emerald Empyrean to relax! That’s the only reason for anyone to be here! Unless… if you aren’t here to relax, then you are an impediment to the relaxation of my true passengers, and you must be eliminated!”
GenericPC |
”No Nako, I meant did that explosion hurt you? Do you want to take a rest?”
- - -
” No! We are here to relax! See? I am relaxing right now!”
Quonx climbs into the captain’s chair and lays back for 10 minutes
DebugAMP |
Nako carefully inspects the bridge as Quonx kicks back. I'm assuming Quonx is recovering SP right now.
"Yep! Relaxed! Completely relaxed. I'mma go chill in the spa to relax more then I've ever relaxed!"
Nako will go peek through the spa.

The tiled walls of this room are colored a soothing sea-foam green. Three cushioned tables occupy the center of the room, each with a plethora of mechanical arms ending in various nozzles, manipulator digits, and other implements. A series of chairs runs along the starboard side of the room, with apertures in the wall behind them. The air is humid and smells of sandalwood.
Nakonechkin is currently trapped on the central massage table, being kneaded and pummeled to a ridiculous degree.
The machines look like they might be keen to give you all a similar 'relaxing massage'
Picture loaded
Gazigaz-777 |
Gaz sees the captain on the table and yelps.
CAPTAIN! CAPTAIN NEEDS HELP!
Sorry, i know rest would be helpful, but I can't see a skitter acting any differently seeing their captain in danger!
DebugAMP |
Nako goes bug eyed, then runs back to the bridge. "QUONXQUONXQUONXWAKEUPWAKEUPWAKEUP!!! CAPTAIN NEEDS HELP NOW!"
She grabs Quonx and drags him over to the 'massage table' and yells, "FIX IT NOW! SLEEP LATER!"
GenericPC |
No problem, we can rest later.
Quonx gets out of the chair ”You found the captain! That is great, coming!”. Once she sees the captain she is not so happy ”Oh my! Shush, let me solve this...”
Taking out her tool bag she is suddenly all business and starts to remove the cover on the machinery ”First get this away and then I can probably decouple something. First need to see what is what”

Back from convention, working back into posting mode, thank you for your patience.
...Previously...
As soon as the 'captain' of the vessel was defeated, Dakoyo went back and shut off the remaining crystal, to ensure that the situation was well and completely defused.

He then headed to join the rest of the team in the... okay, that's not very relaxing at all, is it?
"Captain! Captain! What is the mean ship doing to you??" Dakoyo inquires in a panic as they try to assess Nakonechkin's health and if he is in need of immediate healing.
Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

My error - apparently it was TWO checks, I missed conveying that and thought I had!
Quonx manages to shut down the machines from a distance using an override, and Nakonechkin is recovered!
“Quasar’s light, that machine nearly massaged me to death! Thanks fuzzballs, you saved my tail.” Nakonechkin snorts. “We aren’t done here, though! If you’re up to it, you should head to the bridge and see if we still can’t bring this hunk of junk home. Trendsetter will probably fork over a sizeable chunk of credits to keep this quiet.”
DebugAMP |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
"We found the captain on the bridge but I think she was a zombie. She blew up, so the bridge is all clear now! The nufriends in the aft say that the computer on this thing has gone..."
Nako looks around for cameras, then hides her mouth and whispers, "...c-r-a-z-...y!"
She leads the captain to the bridge and shows off before continuing. "So uh... they say that the computer is down the stairs and past the bunks through a seeeeecret door. We wanna help! So uh... what are your orders cap'n?"
Gazigaz-777 |
Gaz strikes a dramatic pose.
After rescuing their heroic captain, the daring Skitters prepare to take on their final opponent! Grievously wounded, and unable to help, the Captain gives a dramatic speech of vim and vigor to encourage his Skitters to victory!
They smile broadly at the Captain.
Something like that Cap?
Dakoyo, The Mystic |
Dakoyo uses two arms to deploy the stethoscope to check the Captain's vitals, two others to wipe off any icky nasty massage oils, and the remaining two to deliver a Healing Touch 10 HP
"Does this help the captain?" he inquires, "Or would a nice green tea be better? The ancient Golarion civilizations of one continent believed that tea would have amazing recuperative properties, and if you'd prefer that sort of treatment I might have something in my bags?"
Shifty |
Nakonechkin listens to the news, and stares mystified at Gaz's short performance piece, and then looks to Dakoyo with some confusion mixed with relief.
"Sure, tea" he still looks a bit confused "The Computer has gone crazy? Suppose we aren't flying a hostile ship anywhere. You go and switch the computer off - I'll go to the bridge and see what I can do about getting us flightworthy" he looks at Gaz for a moment "Go with vim and vigour" he concludes with a bit of mock gravitas.
Gazigaz-777 |
Gaz spins and points down the hallway, his cape flourishing out behind him as he shouts.
You heard him everyone! Captain's orders! With Vim and Vigor! Skittermanders, Charge Forth!
He starts bouncing ahead.
DebugAMP |
Nako grabs Gaz. "Uh yeah... I think friend Quonx still needs his beauty rest... but then we charge forth with vim and vinegar!"
She thinks for a moment then adds, "Isn't Vim one of those computer thingies that people use to write stuff?"
She pokes her nose into the stairwell, and then paces back and forth, tapping her mvindee drums. She clearly is incredibly impatient to get moving herself, and the moment Quonx stands up after tending to his wounds, she's into the stairwell before he can open his mouth.
"VIM AND VINEGAR AWAY!"
Shifty |
Once the circus eventually works out which way is up and who is the ringmaster at this particular moment, the Skittermander squad heads to the next deck.
You wander downstairs, and it appears that this level is for the accommodation (cabins).
“Attention passengers. My sensors indicate that the ship is infested with small, furry menaces. But do not be alarmed, your crew has it under control. In just a few minutes, we will be venting the interior of the ship out into space to deal with the problem. You may experience a slight loss in cabin pressure, followed by the thrilling sensation of zero gravity and unparalleled views of the surrounding star field. That is all.”
I am assuming that as no one has stated otherwise, you are all still in sealed suits post your spacewalk?
GenericPC |
”Nako! How often do I have to tell you I am a she and not a he! But I could indeed use a rest. Rescuing the captain is exhausting!”
Did we have the time to take 10 minutes to recover SP?
- - -
Quonx is still in her suit, but has unsealed it
After the AI’s message Quonx hands fly to the seals in her suit, fastening everything that needs fastened. Once that is done her hands fly over Nako’s seals, double checking him. ”Seems to be OK Nako, everybody fine? Let’s see if we can shut down this AI before it actually flushes the oxygen in here, thereby killing all our nufriends!”
Quonx frantically starts searching for the secret door
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

I assume you took the 10 mins
The door is easy to open due to you being aware of its location.
The ship’s power core hums pleasantly in the center of this wide room. To the port and starboard, banks of conduits and wires line the walls. The tang of ozone fills the air and the lighting overhead makes shadows dance across the floor.
A security robot stands in this room and fires a warning of static electricity in your direction. In the corner you can see the remains of one of the crew members, she has clearly been slain by this robot.

you check the body of the crewmember and realise they are quite firmly beyond helping, but they have a shiny datapad.
Looking at the terminals (and also the datapad) you learn that while it is possible to cut M2 off from a few systems here in engineering, the AI would still be active and could regain control of the ship a few moments later.
To fully shut down the rogue artificial intelligence, someone needs to dismantle certain parts of M2’s computer core, which is most likely located somewhere within the ship’s framework. M2 has a decentralized core, split into several nodes distributed across the ship. Shutting down three of these nodes will completely
destroy the AI.
You can notice a partially hidden hatch in the floor that leads to a series of
ducts that run all through the ship.
If everyone could make three Int checks to navigate the ducts...
