Wendyl considers the elves words and decides that it would be best to secure the city for now. It pains him to not rush home.

Erastil knows that only a hasty fool chases a wolf without knowing the size of the pack.

”If are to hunt these creatures, we should be mindful of Erastil’s teaching that a hasty hunter catches no prey but a careful hunter feeds the village. Servant of Desnia, surely you have more protection than just those robes? Is it far?A few minutes to prepare would surely be well spent. The lass seems best suited to lead this hunt.”

Rast stands quietly while the others speak but nods his head at the talk of hunting cautiously.

"Lets see if we can put an end to this. Let these good people get on with life."


The North Gate is the border of the city. Beyond that are the small forests that border the town of Sandpoint.

As you approach the gate, you hear before you see, the chanting of Goblins only broken by faint cries of help by a townsman.

"Goblins chew and Goblins bite, Goblins cut and Goblins fight. Stab the dog and cut the horse, Goblins eat ant take by force! Goblins race and Goblins jump, Goblins slash and Goblins bump. Burn the skin and mash the head, Goblins here and you be dead! Chase the baby catch the pup. Bonk the head and shut it up. Bones be cracked, fleshed and stewed. We be Goblins! You be food!" This song has been echoing down the street.

You see a group of them further north with torches burning by a wagon, that is marked explosives likely for the fireworks for the festival.

You're able to get the drop on them, as they're not entirely paying attention to their surroundings. They're too busy signing.

With grim determination at the sight of more goblins, Rogar gestures with Aevi as he chants a spell and dwarven craftsman runes etch themselves, glowing onto Rast's axe.

Rast bellows as he rushes as he charges to help the threatened townsmen.

Scanning the new battlefield, 'Dada decides to work his way around the crowd, taking attacks as he goes. He starts by moving up to the dog, worried that the animal may well be a bigger threat than most goblins.

He attempts to stick the borrowed dagger into the dog's side . . ..

More would have been better. Less than average.


Magical energy envelops Rast's weapon. The faint blue glow is riddled with arcane runes.

His eventual swing misses the dog as the creature sees the attack coming at the last second.

Gudada catches the dog in a moment avoiding Rast's attack. The dagger sticks in between the dogs ribs. The dog lets out a yelp and growls at Gudada.

Azorius will fire an arrow at one of the goblins closest to him One of the blues from his longbow. He frowns as the arrow gets stuck in the diminutive goblin's leather armor and he reaches for another arrow.

Kesni sees her new companions rush for the canine creature and goes to cut off the pack of goblins near them.

Just after Azorius misses his target, Kesni closes distance with the Goblin pack. She glances at the Goblin dog he immediately recognizes these fowl creatures. It's a species of dog, but one that the Goblins have tamed. They have beady eyes, flat noses, protruding teeth, almost like a large rat that's grown entirely too large.

As she's distracted with the Goblin, her haphazard attack ends up being wide of the Goblin.

Wendyl draws his bow and nocks an arrow. He takes aim at one of the goblins in the distance a looses his arrow.

Wyndel's attack falls short of the intended target. The Goblins take notice of the attackers coming up the street, and shift targets.

Originally they were attacking this man hiding behind the rain barrel. He yells out as he sees the approaching group of heroes"Help...Help!! Heroes, I need heroes!"


The Goblins realize they’re now under attack. The Closest Pack of Goblins retaliates moving towards the largest group, Kesni and Gudada.

Kesni:

They Goblin Pyro’s throw their torches at Kesni, hoping to cook the large greenskin alive. They laugh, hoot and holler while they throw them at Kesni, clearly not taking this battle seriously.

Two of the torches graze Kesni inflicting some damage 4 DMG and quickly Kesni goes to put herself out Free Action at start of turn - Reflex DC 12 to avoid 2pts of DMG

The two Goblins with their dog slicers seem to take this battle more seriously and lunge in.

One of the Goblins approaches you, snarling and slicing all the way.

Rast Cobble:

The Snarling Dog, lunges at you, trying to bite with these large protruding festering fangs.

The Snarling Goblin Dog misses the bite, as Rast is focused on the rabid dog the Goblin Commando backs up away from the barrel, draws his shortbow and fires an arrow directly at Rast.

The arrow grazes Rast, who barely notices the scratch as the arrow passes by 1 DMG

Rast manages to stay on his feet when the grease appears.

He even manges to take a step to get out of the area so he can swing his greataxe at the dog.

As Rast easily steps out of the grease, he swings his Great Axe, cleaving through its mid section and splitting the dog in two. Goblin Dog - Dead

Rogar takes a step to the right, under the eave of the nearby building and begins chanting a spell.

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 The post said both fortitude and then reflex save so not sure which it is but my modifier for both is the same.

Kesni instantly tends to her injuries from the torches and stops any fire from catching. She takes a step back to allow her room to use her spear and drives it at the goblin before her.

The goblin song disgusts her and she uses that emotion as she attacks. ”Take out the warchanter! It will boost our morale and dampen theirs if we can shut down this damned song!”

Do the torches stay lit as they fall around me? And are the goblins that threw them still gathered around a huge explosion waiting to happen?

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 . . . and the entertainer falls on his butt in the Grease. Obviously the dogslicer went high as Gudada went low . . .

Finding himself in desperate straits, Gudada goes for desperate measures. He attempts to clear the Grease without providing the nearby goblin a target, from prone.

Acrobatics (target Goblin CMD+5+any additional penalty from the Grease spell): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Drawing back his bowstring Azorius sent an arrow flying towards one of the balloon headed goblin and held his breath hoping the fidgety goblin wouldn't see it coming.

Rogar begins his spell without any interuption.

Kesni succeeds in extinguishing herself not catching fire. My appologies yes a Fortitude save . The Spear connects, and she impales the Goblin through the chest. Blue Dotted Goblin - Dead

The torches do stay lit it takes some time for them to extinguish. I did reference a large caravan that the Goblins were gathered around although I didn't place a token. Based on what is in there, I would recommend against throwing a torch at it to light it if you were considering that, as the 30ft,60ft and 90ft radius around it would be significantly affected - However should you want more detail on the cart I'd be happy to oblige

The Goblins are running around frantically trying to organize their counter attack. One of them being killed already and their dog perishing at this group of longshanks.

Wyndel:

The Goblin Pyro dashes towards Wyndel, moving and attacking with a dogslicer.

The pyro misses his attack, and curses in some guttural squawk.

Gudada:

The Goblin now roughly the same height as Gudada attempts to gash his face.

"Success!!!" The goblin starts waiving his hands up in the air celebrating his hit 2 DMG

One of the Goblin pyro’s advances towards you, now two of them, they attempt to attack in concert with their daggers

Kesni with clear combat advantage over these underfoot demons shifts out of the way deftly.

Rast:

The Goblin now in front of you lashes out wildly with his dogslicer, the Commando shifts and continues with his shortbow.

The Goblins attacks seem to be deflected by some aura emanating all around you. You hear softly in your ear "I am with you..." the voice sounds soft and yet direct.

The Goblin Warchanter raises his arms in the air, and begins chanting and waiving his arms, signing a song of battle inspiring his comrades. Inspire courage to all Goblins within 30 feet to take effect next round

Having dispatched the dog Rast turns to end the goblin beside him.

Azorius carefully moves about the goblins and releases more eldritch energy to protect his new companions. He carefully flanks around the closest goblin hoping to distract it for Wyndel and open up it's defenses.

Protective Absorption again for 4/4 rounds. +1 Deflection bonus to Gudada, Wyndel and Azorius.

Frustration getting the better of him, the young human lashes out with the dagger in his hand, trying to hurt the thing taunting him with laughter . . ..

Rogar completes his spell and assuming Kesni accepts the spell the half-orc ranger suddenly grows to double her size!

With a serious nod, the dwarf charges across the battlefield toward the nearest goblin.

Complete the 1 round casting of Enlarge Person and target Kesni. If she accepts, her reach extends to 20'(so she can hit the orange and purple goblins) and her longspear will do 2d6+8 vs goblins. Her attack bonus will be the same, but her AC drops by 2. Then, Rogar charges solid red border goblin. (AC 10 currently)

Charge Aevi Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Aevi Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9


Rast's attack misses it's intended target.

The arrow from Wyndel's bow falls short as the power from his shot isn't enough to pierce the Goblin's armor.

Gudada misses the attack on the Goblin as the difficulty of attacking prone hinders him.

Once again, a field of energy begins to emanate around Azorious, motes of Arcane energy begin to flux in the air in roughly a 10 ft sphere around him.

Rogar's Warhammer Aevi smashes in through the goblin, knocking it back and decimating it. The Goblin does not get back up Red Square Goblin - Dead

Kesni feels a warm magic wash over her and accepts it. She laughs as the small goblins become even smaller. With the warchanter now within reach of her enlarged longspear, she drives it down at him. ”ENOUGH OF THIS DAMNED CHANTING!”

Taking Rogar’s advice and throwing out another attack for the inevitable AOO

The large incoming spear at the Warchanter, the little creature moves faster than anticipated and dodges the pointed end. It screeches back at Kesni "We be Goblins! YOU BE FOOD!!!! as the Goblin continues to inspire (Su) as considered casting a spell. Kesni strikes a second time at the Warchanter impaling it against the ground. Clearly the taunt was ineffective.

As Goblin after Goblin is being killed, the Commando decides a different tactic is needed.

The Goblin Commando switches targets yelling in Goblin “Attack the big one!!!”, and shoots and arrow at the enlarged green monster.

The Goblins, at the command of their leader attack furiously at the enlarged Kesni. The one engaged with Rast used a 5-foot shift to avoid an attack, along with the one at the prone Gudada disengages and turns towards the enlarged Kesni.

Wendyl is startled when he sees the half-orc lass grow. His startlement quickly turns to grim satisfaction as the giant lass thrusts her spear into the chanting goblin. The relief from the evil chant is short lived as the goblins stalk and would his companion. The situation seems desperate as he Wendyl sees blood pouring from several of the half-orc’s wounds. Fearing that she might not survive another attack, Wendyl once again opens his mind and heart to Erastil. The growing warmth builds until almost overflowing before Wendyl releases a wave of healing energy.

Wincing from the expected pain, Gudada just goes ahead and stands up, giving the goblin in front of him a cheap shot before trying to shut him up for good.

The AoO is effectively against AC 10 = 13 - 4 for prone + 1 deflection.

Azorius' deflection aura doesn't stack with my spell, so I'll just attack instead and save the spell.

Shuffling under Kesni and around Rast, the entertainer works his way to the final goblin and takes a stab at it. Literally.

Kesni's attack lands on the Goblin commando, a loud yelp comes out from the Goblin, and it's hard to believe how that strike didn't kill him. 11 DMG to Commando

He returns the favour, stepping back 5 feet, and firing an arrow at Kesni.
