The battle around the square seems to be dying out. Some of the Goblins can be heard retreating, although the battle is far from over, it sounds like the Town is no longer on the backfoot.

All three of them miss you again, some deflecting off your armor, others seemingly being slowed by the field of energy surrounding you allowing you do dodge out of the way.

Clearly their frustration at missing you is mounting, they seem to be more agitated than a few moments ago.

Taking one too many hits and after his disappointing offensive, Rogar decides to try something wizardy, though his inexperience at this shows. Taking a step back, Rogar makes an arcane gesture over Aevi and then swings it toward the goblin, sending a blast of force from the hammer at the creature. Its aim isn't particularly center on it.

Deciding to cause a little mischief and put the goblins on the backfoot. He focuses his power and takes a step back and utters the arcane words "چکنائی"

A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save DC15 or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can’t move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature requires its bearer to make a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item. A creature wearing greased armor or clothing gains a +10 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks and combat maneuver checks made to escape a grapple, and to their CMD to avoid being grappled.

Wendyl smiles as he begins to feel the sweat on his brow. It is like an old friend now. It makes him feel closer to Erastil. As the battle unfolds, he also takes comfort from this new odd company of companions.

As the disarmed little goblin reaches out to grapple Gudada, the human smacks it in the head with his sap again, harder this time.

At least I can keep using the sap while it grapples me!

The Goblin having failed his grapple check falls prone to the ground after being hit with the Sap.

The Goblin moves back towards Rogar after dodging the wave of force, attacking with his dogslicer.

Wendyl begins to become faint after getting struck be the three different goblins. He begins to black out and knows that many people fall to the furious blows. But he fights and refuses to let the pain overwhelm him. The cleric touches the symbol of Erastil sewn into his cloak and whispers a silent prayer to Old Dead Eye. He thinks of his family and his new companions. The warmth of positive energy born of his faith builds until it releases in an almost tangible pulse.

Rogar's target is hard to hit, those Goblins are swift. They move quickly. The attack misses.

As Wendyl is a hard to kill target, the energy surrounding him invigorates him.

Scanning the area, Gudada points at the archer. "Finish these two. I'll help the others." He waves the sap so that she can see why they need finishing, and he drops the dogslicer as he moves to assist the over-burdened warrior. Sadly, he can't reach there quickly enough to strike now, so he moves so that he can assume a flanking position . . ..

Azorius renews the protective energies as he holds his ground. He felt a lot better as the wave of healing energy flowed through him from Wyndel. Taking stock of the situation the merry band of would be defenders were holding their ground but there were enough goblins left that some of them still might not make it.

Feeling holy power Rast knows the Wyndel has bolstered the group and presses the attack. He steps around and swings again at one of the goblins in blue. {blue square]

Wendyl’s renewed energy allows him to avoid two of his attackers but his wounds slow him enough that the third goblin slices his side. Normally such a wound would not be worrisome but he has already lost a lot of blood. So long as he stands and draws the Goblin attacks, Wendyl knows they will win the day.

Once again touching the antlered bow of Erastil sewn into his cloak Wendyl speaks loudly,”Old Dead Eye, like a faithful sheepdog I seek to guard the flock. Give me the strength to finish this duty!”

Kesni nods a response to the performer and moves to the prone goblins as he runs off. As she runs she fires one more arrow off at her current target.

Aevi crashes into the goblin as the Dwarf moves by, dropping the foul creature to the ground.

Rast's attack misses it's intended target entirely, the force of his swing was more than he'd planned. Roll a Reflex save DC 12 - To not throw your weapon at the dotted blue Goblin. Fail the save and roll an attack. Save and continue with your turn.

Wyndel begins to summon holy light to save himself from the Goblin onslaught. All three Goblin's attack trying to stop you while you cast. All three take an AoO - 3 DMG inflicted: Roll a concentration DC 14 Injury Concentration Save keeps your healing of 5 HP, Miss fall to 0 HP.

Regaining his footing Rast tries to correct for his last attacks and brings the Greatax down again at the goblin in blue pok-a-dots.

Satisfied that she had helped thin the crowd of goblins attacking the others, Kesni knocks an arrow and lowers it, holding it a foot from one of the prone goblin’s heads. ”Only good goblin is a dead goblin.” She executes the unconscious creature.

Longbow: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 x3 = 9 damage coup de grace against the goblin to Kesni’s left. 19 Fortitude check to not die if that didn’t already kill it.


The Goblins surrounding Wyndel decide to make a break for it, seeing their comrades all killed.

Azorius puts away his longbow and draws an arrow. "I doubt they'll regain their courage before they've left Sandpoint but take a moment to catch your breath. Keep your eyes peeled in case more of the little wretches are about the place."

"Azorius Var, Abjuration Wizard." He mentions as he peers at the retreating goblins.

Wendyl swears an oath as he misses yet again with his spear. He is loathe to let the goblins get away to cause more mischief so Wendyl drops his spear and draws his bow. Taking aim at a goblin simultaneously knocking an arrow. With a deep breath, Wendyl lets the arrow fly.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1


Rogar's attack pulverises the Goblin into a pile of gore. The overwhelming attack decimates his opponent.

The other attacks miss the fleeing Goblin. The little creature runs as fast and as far away as he can.

As the battle in the square quiets down, you become present to the sound of battle around you. It seems to be continuing. Down the street to the west you see Goblins running around, up the street to the north you hear Goblins screaming and screeching.

Father Zanthus in running back towards the temple from the North street. Taking stock of the carnage, he slows from a run to a walk looking around. Clearly heading towards you.

End of Combat - One Goblin defeated by running away, 10 killed and 1 unconscious (likely to be killed shortly)-

Kesni executes the second goblin at her feet and immediately goes to pick up her longspear where she dropped it earlier. She will then head towards the others grouped up at the foot of the temple, stopping only briefly to clean the gore off her spear on the rags of a fallen goblin.

Longbow coup de grace: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 x3 = 15 damage should finish that one off, I think.

When he see's Father Zantus coming Rast's head droops.

Desna help me but that was embarrassing. I could barely hit a simple goblin.

"I looks like there are more of them. I... we should go help."


As Father Zanthus approaches he places a hand on Rast's shoulder "It is alright my son". He smiles at you.

He looks at the adventurers searching for the right words "Heroes...yes Heroes. Gather around for the blessing of Desna"

He waits until you group closer to him within a few feet. He raises his arms, emanating from him an outward sphere of energy bursts. You feel the warmth envelop you, memories of your childhood home come back for a fleeting second before vanishing.

Channel Energy: 4d8 ⇒ (2, 6, 8, 2) = 18 18 DMG healed to each PC

"I've expended a sizable portion of my magical strength but many a goblin has died to an elven blade or arrow, I am up for pressing on and driving more of the wretches out of the settlement. I can still provide some warding magic to protect those close to me for a time yet for short periods and I have one spell left that will only last a short period but will help keep harm from whoever I cast it on." The elven wizard seems quite happy to keep pushing forward until he runs out of goblins now that everyone is healed.

"Yes, we need to defend the children and helpless. That is an Uncle or Brother's responsibility. I am without a real weapon, though. I can keep knocking them out, but that is not enough. Are there any real knives on the food tables?"

"I have seen it used, but I am not familiar with handling that sort of blade. Thank you, though. If the elf, there (Var, was it?), plans to use his bow, I could make good use of his sword. Or of anyone's dagger?"

Not sure what anyone's actually carrying, but a quick scan of the character sheets shows a couple of daggers which I don't think anyone is using right now in addition to Azorious's short sword. The difference of a dagger/short sword to the star knife is a +3 to hit versus a -3 to hit!

Wendyl frowns at being called a hero. Now that the battle has calmed his thoughts again turn to his village and family.

Was this attack an isolated incident or a part of some greater evil? My wife and children...the village...

”Father, your words are kind and well placed for these others, especially that lass with the bow but I am just a farmer. I worry for my family and village. Is this attack extended to the villages outside the city?”

Hearing Gudada ask for a dagger Wendyl draw his hunting knife and offers it hilt first,”Erastil guide your hand my friend. You do your family proud protecting the innocents. Thank you.”

He snorts as he accepts the dagger. What family? Not even the family of a caravan. he thinks in response.

Kesni approaches the group just in time to feel Father Zanthus’ healing power wash over her. She surveys the group before her and the goblin corpses at their feet.

”This is too much. There should not be this many goblins in one place. Your children and elderly are indeed in great danger. I will hunt with you all though just this group might not be enough. Priest,” She looks to Father Zanthus. ”you came from the north. Is it as bad as it sounds?”

Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Looking over the goblin bodies as I pass them for anything out of the ordinary as well as to identify a tribe.

Rogar pats the half-orc firmly on the back, giving him a mild smile. "Ye'll get yer time. We all saw ye tryin'." He is very matter-of-fact in his tone. There is no shame in trying and failing.

With a solemn nod, the dwarf hefts his warhammer to indicate that he's ready to hunt more goblins.

Remember to update your HP to max. Also, if we approach another group of goblins, Rogar will cast Magic Weapon on Rast's axe if there is an opportunity to do so close before the combat. It lasts for 10 rounds. If not, I'll plan to cast it first thing so keep Rogar close to Rast on any maps, please.


Knowledge (Nature) - Your mind runs through the sets of goblin tribes, but nothing comes quite to mind. You may need some more information, as there are identifiers from multiple tribes, which doesn't make sense.

Father Zanthus looks to each of you, considering what has been said. "Some look to be heroes, others are chosen. I believe Desna has chosen you today to defend her. No matter..." he trails off a moment, then as if answering Kesni "Yes, there are still Goblins up that way. Some vicious looking ones. There is a townsman trapped up there. I'll leave them to you. I'm on my way to rally with Sheriff Hemlock"

"The Sheriff and his deputies can't be everywhere at once, we can all pitch in. You weapon may not have found it's mark but your healing abilities did." Azorius holds up his arm to show the cut in the cloth and the blood but the skin beneath it now uninjured.

"They might or might not harass some of the villages but I doubt it, a raid daring enough to enter a city would require considerable numbers. Each dead goblin today could decrease the chances off attacks later. A handful less goblins today could push back attacks in the future for a while."
