I think we need arcane and knowledge more than a healer. In combat healing is terrible in pf. Once you are 3rd level it won't matter. Out of combat I can use wands.

It sounds like you called the professor, lots of knowledge and some arcane magic. Funny that. :)
Anyway, thanks for selection and I hope to make the game even better.
So where do I start? Can I get a summary? What do I need to read?
I'll tweak the crunch as required but not much has to be tweaked because I started playing this AP and left at 2nd level.
How do I jump right in? :)
EDIT: Ok, I read the last page and now know how I will be introduced. Convenient. :)

The Professor will essentially know that he remembers the terrible earthquake, and was struck in the head by a piece of debris, and was knocked out.
Coming to, he was again clonked on the head by the two ruffians the party just killed.
He has no memory of his past before that time - but he does remember several bad dreams featuring The Tatterman hunting him in a ruined city.
We can discuss your potential flashbacks at a later date.

I'm perfectly fine with this.
I noticed you said he was in leather armor; what about the rest of his gear?
BTW given the setting, I added a pistol and accessories to his original gear, which is actually very fitting for him. He was not only a fencing student but also a part of the University shooting team. :)
I had also acquired a runestone of power in the last game; is this OK?
Keith S.
All his gear is scattered around the room - so he has it all once he gathers it back up. I am not sure what the runestone of power is, however.

You guys may note that the Professors has some flashbacks listed on his character sheet.
In a previous game of Strange Aeons (which folded a bit earlier than where you guys are now), his GM used this to give some background to his players.
This is very similar to what I was planning to do, but he pulled the trigger earlier than I.
So he keeps his flashbacks and you will get an opportunity to develop some of your own soon - ish.

But I removed them! :(
I'll find them and place them back later today. :)
It's like a pearl of power but for spontaneous casters. I'll remove it if you think it's too much; just let me know.

Runestone is fine. Don't put back the flashbacks unless you want too. We can always add them when the group gets them.

I went ahead and 'fished' the flashbacks from my PMs (which Paizo does not make easy) so I've placed them on his profile but with a spoiler.
I won't act on them unless you give me the 'go ahead'.
So, do I remember anything at this point?
How do you want me to respond?
Keith S.
Let's go with this:
You have had your flashbacks. Make them known if you wish (of course, they are pretty easily found out by clicking on your character and reading!).
You remember dreams of being hunted in the fog shrouded ruins of a crumbling city, pursued by the Tatterman. Slain several times, actually, in gruesome ways.
He also remembers dream-seeing a thin, exhausted looking man with a long white haired ponytail. He ran with him sometimes, and crossed his path other times - and wasn't in other dreams at all. The man kept calling out "What have I done?", or "I a lost, I will never escape!".
Beyond that, you remember the earthquake and some afterwards as described above.

OK, will do.
The flashbacks are on my profile but they are for 'players' to enjoy at this time. I'll reveal them IC when the time comes.
Game on!

I am removing Giles and Betsy the Mule from the links at the top of the page.

@ Trevor - try to add them to the link at the top of the page; I am curious if I did that right for you to update.

Thanks for letting us know.

Back from my trip, and I have a working computer to do maps and such.
As a note, we will be doing this again in a few weeks when I disappear for GenCon - although that will be a COMPLETE radio blackout for me.

Lvl 3
Bab: +1
HP: 5 +2(Con) +1 FCB =8
Feat: Weapon Focus-Earthbreaker
New Abilithy: Mutagen
At 3rd level, a mutation warrior discovers how to create a mutagen that he can imbibe in order to heighten his physical prowess at the cost of his personality. This ability functions as the alchemist’s mutagen ability, using his fighter level as his alchemist level.
This ability replaces armor training 1
+1 all skills
Keith S.
Does your mutagen work exactly like an alchemist? I am not all that familiar with a mutation warrior.
I was also thinking you are a d10 hp class - so shouldn't you get 6 hp per level plus the bonuses?
Trevor Culexis
Yes it does. 10 minutes a level, +4 to a selected stat -2 to an opposing stat(Intelligence for strength) +2 Natural Armor Class
Mutagen (Su)
At 3rd level, a mutation warrior discovers how to create a mutagen that he can imbibe in order to heighten his physical prowess at the cost of his personality. This ability functions as the alchemist’s mutagen ability, using his fighter level as his alchemist level.
This ability replaces armor training 1.
Mutagen Discovery (Su)
At 7th level and every 4 levels thereafter, the mutation warrior can choose one of the following alchemist discoveries to augment his abilities: feral mutagen, grand mutagen, greater mutagen, infuse mutagen, nauseating flesh, preserve organs, rag doll mutagen, spontaneous healing, tentacle, vestigial arm, wings. The mutagen warrior uses his fighter level as his effective alchemist level for the purpose of these discoveries.
This ability replaces armor training 2, 3, 4, and armor mastery.
Whoops, already had Weapon Focus-Earthbreaker will pick something else.

Lazare
|
With the horrors that Lazare has witnessed, he takes one dose of Opium and the Alchemist Kidness. It will come in handy at some point... I'm sure
Character should be updated soon- basically one level of unchained rogue and Accomplished Sneak Attacker (+2d6 if flanking/sneaking).

Just a reminder that next week is GenCon17. My last post before departure will be sometime Monday evening 8/14. I will be able to post again on the evening of Monday 8/21, unless the solar eclipse wipes us out here in Missouri.

Well, I have had people ask what happens when the sun goes away and we lose the solar power? Won't the electric system crash?
I reply - you mean, like it does every night? Nope, you are good.

I'm supposed to get a really good view of it here in Greenville, SC so let's hope it's not a cloudy day.
If the apocalypse is coming, I would like it to be zombies. :)

A pretty cool sight, I must say. Didn't get a lot of work done this afternoon, with all the staring at the sky, but still pretty darn cool.

Hey guys,
I am going to respectfully bow out of this game.
Everyone has different gaming styles and this game is not really what I am looking for when playing PBPs.
GM: you may of course do with Lucius as best fist the story and please mark me as 'inactive' when you get a chance.
Thank you all for having me and have fun.
Keith S.
Do we continue on with a substitute "common" player? Or????
In all honesty, I am very much considering ending this after the first book (which is not all that far off in book terms, but could be quite a while in terms of our posting rate).
PBP just isn't cutting it for me. I would do much better in a Roll20 environment but that is a challenge given our locations.
Professor Lucius Mermont
What exactly were you looking for, Lucius?
Well, I was looking for a more involved story where players posted more than just 'one line'. Some players here don't post that often and no one seems to mind.
Like I said, I'm in these PBP games for the story/character development aspect of the game where mechanics are there only to support the 'story'.
However, this type of game takes time and I understand that not everyone wants to invest that much time into the game (or are really here for the mechanics/builds part of the game, which is also just fine).
As it seems that I was the only one having this 'issue', I figured it was best to let you guys continue to have fun and for me to go find fun in some other game.
Really no hard feelings at all.
