Once Garran joins us, we'll have our entire party ready to go.
I will be tracking combat for my own benefit and do my best to relay that information as accurately and clearly as I am able, but will not be doing so online. Therefore we will be adopting the "theatre of the mind" approach.
Some house rules concerning combat:
Flanking will be achieved if two or more melee combatants are engaging the same enemy.
Only really the one, to be honest.
Other rules:
Have fun, or else: I mean it. If there's something that you feel the table is lacking, or I as a GM can improve upon to make yours and the tables as a whole experience better, please send me a PM and we will discuss it, and come to terms. I want this to be a good, fun experience for everyone.

There you have it. Assuming we all have dotted this thread and are ready to go, we can start at any point. Just give me the word and I'll create the gameplay thread and feed you some setting and the box text to get us going.
(Once Garran joins us, of course.)
Side note: Prepare for a lot of side notes.
PS: It was implied, but never stated. But I highly value role play. Hence the extensive background requirements. Go forward on your adventure confident that I will be doing everything within my considerable GM power to make everything in your background come to fruition. I want to see it all as bad as you do, or so I like to tell myself. :)
I'll be considering implementing some minor rules from 5e, simply due to the fact that they are awesome. And also take note that, I like to include homebrew content in the games that I run. So if something smells fishy, that's probably what's happening.
There's also a possibility that at the completion of the AP, for those interested, to continue on to 20th level and into mythic content. Something to think about.
Side notes conclude here. As always if there are any questions or concerns, hit me. But in the meantime, just have some fun and tell each other some good stories. :)

Is it alright if Dragos is told offscreen by his mother the circumstances of his birth, in an attempt on her part to make him stay?
He'll catch up with the group on the road, since he dislikes most of the authority figures in Helgen (but when we get someplace else, he'll start acting like a proper face)

As for when to move on, I'm fine with picking someone, or we could assume no posts in 24 hours means move along, or 3-out-of-5 vote. Honestly, I'm relatively new to PbP, so I dunno what works best.

Per the FAQ here, the paladin detect evil ability has two modes; a standard action to use the regular detect evil, exactly like the spell, OR a move action to detect evil on a single individual. I had been seeking to use the first method in this case.

In this case it's: Dragos (and his steed.) Followed by Domitian, then Garran (that's me.) Then Serena. Ashling is probably in the rear. I wouldn't think she'd try to cut trail for the horse.

It might be good to have a heavy in the rear, in case we are attacked from behind. Garran, what do you think about taking rear guard? With my reach weapon, I work best as a second in line.

idk its usually a good idea to have rogues somewhere in the front. healers and mages take the middle somewhere and heavies scattered throughout
reason being middle is most protected which is what mages and healers need
heavies with steeds can usually compensate being in the rear because they have steeds and usually that speed can get them to the front quicker and ensures ample room for charging
other foot based heavies in the second front or front keeps them close to combat.

I believe that since we are in the snow, and movement is so hampered, we should group up. Rogue scouting and repositioning won't help much when you have to use 20 ft. of movement to move 5 ft.
My idea is: Me (on horsey, so I can reposition) in front as a target trailmaker, then Domitian (reach weapon, frontline), Serena and Ashley, and Garran as a rearguard (and keeping an eye on us should we need buffs).
Should a fight break out, I can lure an enemy (the whole point of my archetype) and somehow move, leaving space for you controllers.

I agree with Dragos. Particularly given the lenient view of flanking in this game, the rogue's ability to find favorable battle positions is much easier. Ashling can still try to watch out for traps from third rank, and will be better protected if (for some strange, unexpected reason) we are ambushed.
Since Serena will be in the same place regardless I'm fine with whatever the rest of the party decides

Garran moves pretty slow, so he could end up at the back soon enough anyway.
We might want to work out our formation if we happen to be advancing in a line, as well as a column, while we're about it. :P
