"eloquently expressed"

Well that is a first for me. As an autistic, I find it usually difficult to be clear with the written word. :)

Don't worry, your head should feel right again rather soon. Actually, getting mine removed was interesting. Apparently when they tell you to count backward from 10 as they put you under, I'm the only one to make it to the number 3. The lady said it was rare for anyone to reach 5. :)

In any case, get well.

Female half-elf cleric of Pharasma 6 | NG | Init +1; Senses low-light vision; Perception +7 AC 19, touch 11, flat-footed 18 (+6 armor, +1 Dex) hp 53 (5d8+21) Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +9; +2 vs. enchantments

I do hope your head feels better soon.

Female Rakshasa-spawn Tiefling Summoner 6; HP: 48/48 AC: 18 T: 12 FF: 16 ; CMD: 15; F: +6 R:+6 W: +5 (+2 when within Roban's reach); Perception: -2 ; Resist Fire, Cold, Elec. 5; Detect Thoughts 1/1; Summon Monster SLA 9/9; Spells 1st 4/6, 2nd 5/5

LOL, thanks, getting better, and those rascally wisdom teeth needed popping out :)

Female half-elf cleric of Pharasma 6 | NG | Init +1; Senses low-light vision; Perception +7 AC 19, touch 11, flat-footed 18 (+6 armor, +1 Dex) hp 53 (5d8+21) Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +9; +2 vs. enchantments

Yeah wisdom teeth aren't that smart to get. It was a pain to get rid of mine. I was so funny loopy with the anesthesia it should have been videoed. I've been really happy I had it done.

I'm not exactly sure what the point was in getting them removed. In theory they claimed the wisdom teeth were squeezing my teeth together, but as 9 years later my teeth are still squeezing together, even to the point of breaking fillings, I don't think wisdom teeth have anything to do with it.

Update:It seems the worst has passed and I should be able to start posting again in a few days.

Sweet! I'm excited.

Female half-elf cleric of Pharasma 6 | NG | Init +1; Senses low-light vision; Perception +7 AC 19, touch 11, flat-footed 18 (+6 armor, +1 Dex) hp 53 (5d8+21) Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +9; +2 vs. enchantments

I'll be away for a few days, but I should be able to post. Feel free to bot me if needed to move things along.

It's safe to say that I'm back, thank you for your patience.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

No problem. Looking forward to getting started!

I will be posting in the gameplay thread tonight or tomorrow.

Everybody roll two DC 13 intelligence checks and if they succeed roll a d100 for each success. Wizards, clerics and bards get an extra attempt.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

intelligence vs. DC13, guidance: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
intelligence vs. DC13, guidance: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

percentile: 1d100 ⇒ 65

What is your policy on taking 10? Its not relevant to me here, since Shon'dar has an INT of 10, but I'm curious for going forward--I usually prefer to take 10 on checks I think my character is likely to succeed at.

Yes, glorious RNG! Pour your blessings over me! I am but a humble servant of yours!

I'm fine with taking 10's as long as there is no penalty for failure.

It's better to get your bad rolls out now then later. :p

Thanks!

Shon'dar:

Rumor:There is a vast underground cavern system populated by hideous beasts under the Forest of Hope called “The Barrows”.

Estela:

Rumor:In the lower levels, spells cannot be regained due to the evil powers in this place. Conserve spells on deep treks.

Kwin:

Rumor:There is a monster immune to everything on the first level. It is amorphous, and smells terrible. A wise man flees from it.
Rumor:Orcus put a curse on the complex when he built it. Any that disturb his temple will become slaves of darkness, never to return

int checks: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 191d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
successes: 1d100 ⇒ 31d100 ⇒ 741d100 ⇒ 70

Sorry about slow response, I've been working crazy. 70+ hours this week so far. Oh and another 10 spent on commute. Still got two days to go, though theoretically, next week will be back to normal.

Triela:

Rumor:A rich gold mine can be found if one can find a cavern with a man-made river channel and defeat the monsters there.

Rumor:Many back entrances to the most famous of dungeons are said to lie in the wilderness, but the hills are so riddled with caves that finding these entrances is all but impossible if one knows not where to look

Rumor:A group of adventurers calling themselves the Fire Hawks recently left on an expedition to Rappan Athuk and have not returned. It is said their leader carried with him an artifact of great power

Don't worry about it.

Some crap happened in my life. I expect to still post daily, but it may be that I am unable to do so. Regardless, I will not be as frequent as a poster until this crap is resolved. Do not hesitate to bot me when necessary.

Hope it nothing too serious, good luck whatever the case :)

So much for theories. I'll be working only 65 hours though, so not quite as bad as last week.

Just how is there a bunch of gameplay posts without a new posts flag?!
:(

In any case, Time for me to catch up.

@Shon'dar I hope things work out for you.

@Triela That seems to be happening to some people. I've got another PbP that other's have missed new game play notifications.

I hope everything turns out well for you Shon'dar.

Bracers of Falcon's Aim just got nerfed in Ultimate Equipment Errata. Will you let me either keep the old effect or swap it out for something else?

-Posted with Wayfinder

Female Rakshasa-spawn Tiefling Summoner 6; HP: 48/48 AC: 18 T: 12 FF: 16 ; CMD: 15; F: +6 R:+6 W: +5 (+2 when within Roban's reach); Perception: -2 ; Resist Fire, Cold, Elec. 5; Detect Thoughts 1/1; Summon Monster SLA 9/9; Spells 1st 4/6, 2nd 5/5

Quick Runner's shirt to, though I think the new version is better and still decent value - it just means it is for Sum rather than Roban.

Mind linking me the Errata?

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

On my phone right now. If you go to the Ultimate Equipment page in the Paizo store they have a link to the changes in the product description. i can give you the gist though.

Old version: you are constantly under the effect of the Falcon's Aim spell

New version: you may cast Falcon's Aim 1/day with a 1-minute duration

Cost is unchanged at 4k...

If you go here, just below the product description there is a link after "First Printing to Second Printing (v1.0)" to download the errata. On page 4 of the errata, the change to the bracers is near the bottom of the page, and it reads: "In bracer’s of falcon’s aim, change the final sentence to “Once per day, on command, the wearer gains the benefits of aspect of the falcon for 1 minute. The wearer must wear these bracers continuously for 24 hours before activating this ability.”"

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I assume that "on command" means it's a standard action--I'm not familiar with the rules for magic items in that regard.

-Posted with Wayfinder

Some of those changes were pretty lame :/.

I'll allow the bracers and quick runners shirt to keep their old effect.

Although, I'm still keeping the "The wearer must wear these bracers continuously for 24 hours before activating this ability." text.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

That's fine. Shon'dar has had them for a while.

Female half-elf cleric of Pharasma 6 | NG | Init +1; Senses low-light vision; Perception +7 AC 19, touch 11, flat-footed 18 (+6 armor, +1 Dex) hp 53 (5d8+21) Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +9; +2 vs. enchantments

I was talking to some people at PaizoCon who have played this. They wished us luck, and said prepare to die. One of the players sometimes runs this as a tournament. They make 5 characters and the last one standing wins.

LOL Dungeon of Graves, at least Kwin has one ready :)

I hope you guys are ready. :p

my posting rate should start increasing as well.

Yeah, I'm ready. And my posting rate will increase too, now that finals are gone.

Also, I speak for myself but I do expect to die so no hard feelings will be held. Afterall Rappan Athuk is THE meat grinder dungeon.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I'm hoping to make it a little while before dying, but... If Shon'dar does I'll just get to make a new character.

I am sort of hoping the whole eidolons being expendable, because even if they die they come back the next day and there death opens up the very decent summon monster backup, will help a little. Roban can press weird buttons lead the way, etc.

A little cruel but the eidolon can be a life saver.

Female Rakshasa-spawn Tiefling Summoner 6; HP: 48/48 AC: 18 T: 12 FF: 16 ; CMD: 15; F: +6 R:+6 W: +5 (+2 when within Roban's reach); Perception: -2 ; Resist Fire, Cold, Elec. 5; Detect Thoughts 1/1; Summon Monster SLA 9/9; Spells 1st 4/6, 2nd 5/5

If someone has to do it is it really cruel to send the one individual that has no chance of permanently dying? Not talking about a sacrificial summon monster, but an AC 30 eidolon with +16 perception, plus as an intelligent creature who basically looks at Sum as a spoilt daughter and plays the role of bodyguard. If I was running him as a player, which I basically am, he would be volunteering for the role, understanding that while death is a temporary inconvenience for him it is much more serious for his comrades.

Wait, you mean we might actually die?!

Thank god, I thought this was going to play the ever popular "PCs never die" style. I've only ever had one character die and that was not really a fair circumstance.

In any case last big shift for a while thank you.

Female Rakshasa-spawn Tiefling Summoner 6; HP: 48/48 AC: 18 T: 12 FF: 16 ; CMD: 15; F: +6 R:+6 W: +5 (+2 when within Roban's reach); Perception: -2 ; Resist Fire, Cold, Elec. 5; Detect Thoughts 1/1; Summon Monster SLA 9/9; Spells 1st 4/6, 2nd 5/5

In case that is not sarcasm, this is supposedly one of the most brutal dungeons in existance, players are generally encouraged to have multiple characters ready to go. I am told its not really concerned with being fair either, so my paranoia is stoked.

Ahhh I see Summer.

Keep the paranoia with you at all times Summer quite a useful trait in this campaign.

What I consider unfair is handling of the rules, but encounter design, everything is fair unless you want the PCs to fight everything, touch everything, and take everything and still live.

@Mottied could you use this Avatar pic for Roban please Mottied, a bit smiley, but close enough :)

Woot! First combat turn posted!

-Posted with Wayfinder

Good luck!

Would everyone be interested in group initiative after this fight? It leads to quicker turns but it becomes more dangerous as enemies have a chance to go first as well.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I prefer regular initiative, but just going by posting order within blocks of allies.
