Malavine cursed as the electricity flowed through her, leaping aside even as she felt the power ground through her feet. It felt very strange, and not entirely unpleasant - except for the burning feeling. That wasn't as much fun.

Now seems like a good time to realize that all my saves seemed kinda low, and then to realize that I didn't "technically" add in my class base to the total. Corrected! Now let's go make a Reflex save!

Liath, proud that she is toeing the battle line with the beast, and so pinning it in place so it can not attack the others and must attack her, tries to dodge the beast's breath, but guesses wrong and finds herself in taking the brunt of the blow.
"Oof," she grunts from the electric blast, before righting herself and standing straight. "Success is commemorated; Failure merely remembered," she states before finishing off the beast.

Malavine gave Hickle a look that suggested she agreed with the construct, but said, "It was pretty tingly, really. Other than myself and Liath does anyone need healing?"

Now that the beast is felled, Liath spends some moments shaking her head and getting her bearings. "Mmf. Shocking indeed! I have taken some buffets of note, but that ranks up there.
Aye, Mal, if you have healing to spare, I would take it, to preserve my power for the moment of steel on steel."

The day is long and hot; travel is slow once again, making a mere 12 miles in a full day's travel, but you encounter no more threats this day. Your night is also peaceful, and you awaken ready to travel once again.
The Compass is leading you further into the uncharted desert where only nomads commonly travel. Another day of journeying directly into the desert leaves you cracked and sunburned, unless you've individually taken precautions. However, you have ample water, and are resting regularly.
A second day of travel passes without encounter, and you're preparing to make camp. Would any of you like to do anything specific before bed?

Malavine spent the time focusing on a new magic she was trying. With how useful it was, she had focused on copying Liath's ability to create fresh water at need. It hadn't taken too long to work out how to draw the moisture from the air, albeit it quite a lot from the area when it was a desert like this.
But she was never one to rest on her laurels. And there had been several occasions when keeping someone still would have been useful. And she knew that, according to her parents, water that was cold enough became solid.
So Malavine learned to make ice. Given the temperature this was an excellent idea. An unlimited supply of ice cold water was never a bad thing. An opponent trapped in it was even more fun.
Therefore, after making dinner, Malavine had a cool bath.

You travel on for several days, with only minor encounters of desert creatures that either scurry off on being attacked, or are easily and quickly bested.
Finally, you come to an end to the largest of the dunes; the land flattens out and becomes dry and cracked. You are nearing the foothills of the mountains known as The Barrier Wall.
You are nearing another hot day of travel when you hear a creatures approaching you from the craggy rocks nearby. Soon, you are set upon by creatures that appear to by mummified lynxes.

"Ah, this is a perfect time to test a new theory of mine! Let's see... a little bit of this, some of this stuff, anddd...." THe strange smelling pellet of material Hickle forms in his hands starts to spark, causing the gnome to yell out in surprise while tossing it haphazardly near the lynxes. It's there that it suddenly bursts into flame, scorching the dessert and four of the mummified creatures.

Shmick wards off the bite with his heavy plating, but the creature's claws find purchase in the more vulnerable wooden components. "Urgh- Get off me, you rotting fleabag!"
Hicklespurn sputters into action, his hands wafting in magic before he clasps his hands toguther. "Please, with Haste my friends, let's be done with this already!"

The journey before you is long, but finally you come to a point where the desert flattens out. a couple miles in the distance, in the burning desert sun, there is a small pyramid; there's movement in the vicinity, though it's difficult to make out what's going on at this distance.
