Railina Moves over to the peasant girl and Myrp. "Yes, are you alright?" She asks, grabbing the girl on the shoulder comfortingly.

Looking over at Myrp, a puzzled look appears on Railina's face. "I do not believe we have met. I am Railina, born and raised sailor. Thank you for the help." As she finishes her sentence she puts out her hand waiting for a handshake.

Human Oracle 1

Albrek nods to Railina as he sheathes his mace. "A pleasure to meet you. I'm Albrek Dwarfson." He then kneels down next to the peasant woman. "Are you injured, miss?"

Taken aback at the friendliness of the strangers, Myrp gulps, and hesitates a second before quickly grasping the offered hand, and stammers out a greeting..."Yes...Glad to meet you...I mean thanks...I mean you're welcome...Wow real adventurers are talking to me". "I have seen you all about before...I'm Myrp...Pleased to meet you both".

Railina smiles at Myrp. "There is no reason to be nervous Myrp, you did a courageous thing blinding that thug. We would be honored if you came with us."

If the remaining thug gets away from Pol then Chelin will set to ride him down with his pony's quicker speed, but if Pol appears to knock him out then he will join the others with the girl, giving a glance to make sure that Railina is uninjured before speaking.

"Greetings, Ma'am. I am pleased to see you safe, though I apologize that our rescue did not come off without a hitch." He glares down at his pony for an instant which seems to glare back up at him. "Justice here, is not so comfortable in the rain. We will have to practice this."

Pol drops his sycthe and before the thug has a chance to react knocks him clean out. The thug drop like a sack of potato. The peasant girl looks up at Myrp and Railina with a look a relief in her eyes...

"Aye, I am much better now that those ruffians are no longer a problems. Thank you for all your help. " She says as she smiles looking around at the assembled party before her. "Nay I am not injuried except for my pride maybe. My name is Phon Quatermain, and I am in debt, had not you come when you did I would have been taken away by these filthy muggers who knows what they would have done to me."

Tony also offers his solicitations and even offers his cloak.
"But perhaps we could get out of the rain to converse?" He asked as he looked up at the rain sodden clouds.

"What do we do with the unconscious thug?" Railina ask Pol and Chelin. "Shall we escort Phon home and drop him off at the city guard post?" Railina suggests with a glare at the prone thug.

Chelin nods his head some. "Certainly. It would not be correct to leave the poor lady out in the rain and the dark. She should be escorted home, and this thug should be left with the guard, they will see he is properly tried."

"Well then, we should get moving. Where abouts do you live Phon?" Railina asks grabbing her hand.

"Would a few of you gentlemen grab the dirty thug, please." Railina asks kindly while giving the mugger a snarling look.

Ekard sighs again.

"Looks like that drink will have to wait," he says as he pulls his cloak tighter about himself against the rain. "I'll leave the dead weight for the tall folk."

Ekard will roll the fallen thugs and take anything of value.

In "rolling over" the thug you find a few things in his pockets 1 potion, a double-finger ring, 10 gp and 8 sp, 12 bolts, a heavy crossbow and a neatly folded piece of parchment.

Phon smiles at all the kindness that is being shown her "Oh I live but a few blocks away on crispin street, I would feel much safer with an escort but you fine people should not worry about one such as I, I can make my way home with out any incidents. I thank you for all you have done but I wouldn't want you to cause you any inconvience." She smiles and begins to walk towards the alley exit.

Pol quietly picks up his fallen scythe and leaned slightly on it, watching the rest of the assemblage with growing interest. Poking Chelin with the end of his scythe, he motions toward the fallen thug saying, "Can your horse carry it?"

Liberty's Edge

Chelin eyes down at Justice and shakes his head at the pony but then nods to Pol. "If you speak that way about Justice then she is going to get more of an ego then she already has."

He then will slide down and dismount from Justice to make it easier to lay the body across the back of the horse to be carried to the guard headquarters.

"Are you sure milady? They may have friends herabouts..."
But if she insists, Tony will take her at her word and let her go.

She smiles as you "Well if you must, lets get going then. I must be up early to get back to work at Sachs." with that she looks out of the alley begins to walk out of the Square.

"You will let me come with you"? Myrp questions. "But I'm no adventurer, I'm not brave, or strong or anything". "I do know a little bit or magic...but of course, you just mean back to the Inn", Myrp ends with a hopeful and questioning look.

Pol manhandles the unconscious thug on to the horse, and with a shrug, decides to see how far this will go. Will be gone for a few hours, feel free to roleplay my char.

Tony will accompany the lady safely to her home, then come back to the rest of the group (if they don't come too).

You walk her home with no incident. she thanks you and enters her home, after you find yourselves back at the inn about 30 minutes later. The merriment still in full swing. the waiter hands you a menu. "What can i get you?"

I'll repeat the action for the remaining thugs, letting the more chivalrous types escort the woman and just meet them later at the Ghostly Minstrel.

"Not a complete waste of time...we've got enough coin here for a night's celebration."

"Oy, Railina, here's a bauble for you to mutter your magics over," he says as he hands her the potion.

"Albreck, this might be a love note for you." Ekard smirks as he hands over the folded note, knowing full well the difficulty the oracle will have in reading it.

"Nice crossbow, but too big for the likes o' me. Pol, if you or Tony don't want it, we can run it over to the weapon shop later 'n pawn it. Got a nice shiny here too...might be able to get a couple o' coins for it."

You find the following:

3 more brass double-finger rings, 30 gp, 45 sp, two light crossbows, 20 bolts, 1 short sword, and two great clubs. also 2 sets of thieves tools. There is something familiar about these brass rings

give me a knowledge (local) check ekard

Albrek opens the note and reads it. "I can read perfectly fine, Ekard."

Seeing that Tony has the lady safely at hand, and that Railina seems to be settled in the tavern and should be well secured there, Chelin will set off with Pol to deliver the unconscious and dead thugs to the guardsmen and let them know what has occurred. Chelin will be sure to be quite detailed in his report.

You read the note Albrek and in extremely bad Imperial Common the note reads:

Phon Quartermail. 3rd door westarn side
of Crispin Street. Blond hair, yung.
After: the red wairhuse on Able row, 2 hours
after dusk. Kingsday.

Chelin and Pol take the thug over to the nearby watch office, when they arrive the Watchman greets you Chelin and after you give a detailed report they lock up the still unconscious thug. Though you get the feeling its likely he won't be there all that long what with the way the watch seems to let these types back on the streets so quickly with but the simple drop of a few gold pieces

Human Oracle 1

"Hmm." Albrek tosses the note back onto the table, frowning. "It seems someone wanted miss Quartermill robbed. Perhaps we should meet with their employers?"

After Albrek reads the letter, Ekard looks incredulous. "They wanted her specifically? Why? She's not nobility; they couldn't get a ransom for her. It's strange..."

these rings remind you of the type worn by a local gang known as the "Pale Dogs", you remember they frequent the warrens.

Male Halfling Rogue 1

"Uh-oh. I thought these things looked familiar. Those thugs ran with the Pale Dogs. They usually stick to the Warrens. Now I'm definitely interested in seeing what's going on. What say we get something warm in our bellies and a little liquid courage, then go see what they're up to, eh?"

Albrek looks Ekard straight in the eyes, looking like he has two balls of marble in his sockets more than anything else. "It's only by the Earth's blessing I can see at all."

"Who knows? There are as many obsessed madmen in this city as any other. I agree, whoever ordered this must be stopped, if nothing else."

Male Halfling Rogue 1

Ekard shudders. "Ugh, don't be starin' at me like that. It gives me the green willies, it does."

"I'm thinking we take our fare from our latest windfall, then divvy the rest up fair-n-square."

I put up a post in the discussion thread about dividing treasure. We should probably come to an agreement on how to do it, especially where magic items are concerned.

As he returns, Tony hangs up his sodden cloak and hat and sits down with a sigh. Glancing at the menu he whispers to the waiter; "I'll have the Haddok, mushroom soup and a loaf of bread and cheese."

Stretching his legs out, he says; "Well, the lady is home safe. What did you find out about the villains?"
Looking over the loot, he dismisses it with a wave of his hand. There is nothing there that he wants.
Looking over the note, he looks up; "I wonder what 'After" meant. Say, is it possible we could show up to the meeting? And find out more of what they wanted to do with her?"

Definitely be a good idea to figure that out now

The merriment at Minstrel continues into the wee hours of the morning of the now 2nd of Newyear, Kingday.

So whats the plan? Into the Warrens? Sell the loot?

The waiter takes your order "It'll be my pleasure Sir, and that be 1 shield and 5 pennies" and then walks over to the bar to get your order ready

Tony grins and says; "I do belive tonights dinner is on the Villains!" He points at the coin loot Ekard has.

"Seems to be the plan, Tony. I'm dying to know what the Pale Dogs are doing runnin' snatch-n-grabs up here in Midtown. I can probably get us to Able Row right quick when we're ready to go. Tonight we enjoy ourselves. Come tomorrow, I'll get this stuff sold off, some more coin in our pockets, and then we get to the bottom of this."

"Start us a tab, garcon. We'll settle up at the end of the night."

Presuming there are no votes to the contrary, I'm thinking we enjoy the Ghostly Minstrel until closing, get some shut-eye, I'll sell off the thugs' gear, and we'll meet back up to go looking for the red warehouse on Able Row in the afternoon. Railina or Myrp can hopefully identify the potion for us by then.

This is about it for me tonight, folks. I've got to go fix dinner and then do some homework.

Ekard Keller wrote:

You see a certain glint in the barman eyes when you say start a tab as if he is only thinking of all the money he can get out of your pocket by the end of this night "Sure, Sire, wouldn ye be wan'n and noth'r go aroun on ere drinks then?" says the barkeep about this time the waiter comes back by with Tony's food

Ekard Keller wrote:

go ahead and roll me a diplomacy check, ekard. Depending on the results I'll give you a break down come morning, before I go to work of how much your able to get for your loot."

When Chelin returns he takes time to reign up Justice and ensure the pony has some feed before he enters the tavern, for all his grumping about the animal he obviously has a soft spot for the thing.

When he enters, he'll look around, raising up on tiptoes until he spots the rest of the group and walk over. "Alright, the thugs in the clink, but no telling how long he'll stay there. Always my biggest gripe with the guard, too much corruption and too many strings to pull. Any idea what we are looking at here? If those boys were more then just a few desperate vagrants looking for some coin, then whoever was pulling their strings is likely to hear about it in a few days when they get kicked out of the gaol. That makes them likely to hear about us and what we did to their men, and I imagine that it may be a bit safer for us if they hear about it straight from our mouths first, yeah? Its better then them coming to have a chat with us while we are sleeping."

He realizes he is being a bit grim and gives a grin. "Course who knows, maybe the toughs just thought they could strong arm people on their own, or were their guildmasters' least favorite."

"I will take the game hen and blackberry pie for dessert. Oh, and a nice big tankard of your finest ale. Thank ya." Railina looks at the menu hungrily. She takes out the potion and examines it for a minute.

Cast Detect Magic and Spellcraft to identify potion 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

"Eh Ekard, you met any of the Pale Dogs, I mean any we didn't kill or knock out?" Railina asks with a laugh. "I'm with you guys, we should take care of this before we receive some night visits."

Pol manages to walk into the bar, sodden from head to toe. Ah well, that's what he gets when the guy with the horse goes ahead. Ruffling his hair free of water, he snatches the menu off of Railina's hands and balks at the prices, and orders mushroom soup.

Then, turning to the rest of the group, he smiles wanly. "Now what?" He asks.

The waiter takes everyone orders and adds it to the tab. With in a few minutes the food is on the table and smelling like heaven.

Railina

Spoiler:

After a moment or two of concentration, you are pretty sure the potion is a cure light wounds potion.

Railina sniffs the potion and uses a little bit of magic. "This here is a cure potion fellas. Who wants to carry it?"

"You're lucky I was done with that menu Pol or I'd turn you into an icicle like them thugs back in the alley." Railina laughs and shakes her fist.

Chelin considers the potion and then nods towards Pol, giving a small grin. "I would suggest giving it to our large friend here if it is a healing potion. He has been known to throw himself in the fray and thus I would expect him to be the most likely to come away with his own nicks and bruises."

Railina slides the potion across the table to Pol. "Here ya go."

It is a potion of cure light wounds FYI.
