Tygora proves to have excellent reflexes at she spins to strike Amiri as the Kellid races forward.
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26 for damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 3) + 9 = 17
The blow does little to stop Amiri though, and the efreeti's armor and skin are gouged by a deep hit from the oversized sword.
*Grunt* A lucky blow savage. Your reach exceeds your grasp, as your laughably armaments clearly show.

Talevia

Talevia watched her companions dive through the wall of fire that Tygora had case and was determined not to be the only one left out. She ran forward through the flames, using an arm to shield her face from the flames.
"In the name of Erastil, your reign ends here." Talevia shouted, skidding to a halt and nocking an arrow to her bow. "The Oreads and our companions shall go free."

Guided by magic and teamwork, August lands blow after blow on the efreeti queen. Tyogra tries to block the hits, but is pummeled.
You*gurnt* Will all *oof* Burn *ugh* With your friends!!
At 'friends', Talevia steps through the fire and looses a single arrow, one that flies through the air and thuds directly into Tygora's forehead. The tyrant stumbles back, the scimitar slipping from her grasp. Then, she falls.
COMBAT OVER!!!
The throne room stands quiet for a second, before the dwarf Ulark starts clapping. Well done'n good riddance!
The female Pathfinder at the far end yells out to him ("Careful with the clapping Ulark or you'll set us all off!") as the oread looks up and sighs in relief.
"I still do not know exactly who you are, but for what you have done our town owes you a great debt. I am Glaheri, Councilor of Crystalcrag."
Jarlaxle Baenre
|
Jarlaxle nods to the Oread, and winks.
"Just glad to be of service! We were, actually, here for the missing Pathfinders, but overthrowing tyrants is certainly not outside our wheelhouse, when it is called for..."
He then moves to check Tygora's body for life (probably not), and loot (maybe?).
Lem aka Uktar
|
Lem pops back out of invisibility and bows low to Glaheri.
"It is a pleasure and honor to make your acquaintance, Councilor. I am Lem, and these are my stalwart companions, agents of the Pathfinder Society one and all. While Jarlaxle is indeed correct, and we're relieved to find our fellow pathfinders alive, we have also been busy stirring the pot of freedom amongst your fellow Oreads. You will find a different city awaiting you outside."

Lem tries using the wand on August again, then shakes it vigorously and tries one last time. "Well, I guess that's spent." He casually tosses it to the side.
"Perhaps we should take the tyrant's body--or head, if we don't have the wherewithal to move such a big creature--and show the town, try and convince her followers that surrender is the better option? I think the top of the stairs would be a good place for the presentation..."
August Dupine

August limps over to the prisoners as Lem heals him up. "Thank you, friend. That was quite the beating. I think Talevia deserves a medal for that shot to the head. Nice job."
Looking over the pressure plates, August motions to the prisoneers. "Don't move til we figure this out."

Arthac purrs as he nuzzles up next to Neha. "Don't worry, my friend. We'll take some time to heal from this altercation before our next mission."
The druid nods to her companions. "Well done, all. I think it's safe to say that Glaheri and the other councilors can help restore normalcy to Crystalcrag now that the efreeti is defeated. Let's search the rest of the palace for any remaining secrets the genie might have hidden away."

Neha assists August with pointing out the trapped plates while the monk disables them. All the Pathfinders seem relieved to be freed as Lem explains the rapid political shift to Glaheri.
As the last Pathfinder's trapped prison is dismantled, a quartet of ifrit solider race into the room, weapons drawn. They begin to rush towards you, but seeing Tygora's lifeless Yes, she is quite dead form on the floor all four blink for a moment before scattering back to the entrance.
Following them swiftly, Glaheri in tow, your group comes to the palace steps to see a mass of bruised and injured ifrit and oreads turning to look at you. A muttering goes through the crowd, as the fleeing ifrit's yells seem to have given the whole town a sense of what just transpired.
Earthkin and firekin alike look towards you nervously, while Valsog looms in the background with a curious expression. Through the crowd, Eurdan Stonematle slowly limps towards you, looking at Glaheri. "Glaheri, you are alive? I did not hope as much..."
"Pathfinders. What has happened?"
Talevia
|
Talevia steps forward, thankful that the conflict was over, and hopeful that she can find some new clothes to replace the ones that were spotted with cinders during this quest.
"People of Crystalcrag. Our new friends." she starts in a friendly tone. "Tygoras misguided rule is at an end. Your councilor, Glaheri, has been freed and is no worse for the captivity. Now is the time to heal any rifts that have opened up in the shadow of Tygoras reign for Crystalcrag is once more a place for both Earth and Fire kin."
"And it is the hope of the Pathfinder Society that your gates will no longer be closed to those beyond your borders. There is much that we can learn from each other."
Lem aka Uktar
|
"Indeed, a great shadow has been lifted from your home. Crystalcrag is better served when all its kin work together for the betterment of all, rather than subject to the whims of just one. You have seen the face of tyranny and all it has wrought, now embrace this opportunity to begin anew. This is a chance for you to not just rebuild, but create something greater than the original, to forge a beacon of cooperation and balance among all the residents of your fair city. Glaheri, Eurdan, and all the peoples of Crystalcrag, the Society of Pathfinders remain at your service at this difficult but hopeful time." And with that, Lem raises his tiny fist into the air. "Three cheers for the flames of Liberty! May they ever burn within the stony forge of Crystalcrag! Hip Hip..."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
| GM Zoomba |
A murmer shoots out amongst the Crystalcrag-ans, soft whispers of confusion soon turning into vindication. As Lem finishes his rousing speech and Talevia speaks of healing, Glaheri steps forward. This path will not be an easy one Pathfinders. And much of the hard work must be done here, by us. Oread [i]and[i/] Ifrit. But Crystalcrag has gone through worse before, and together we can rebuild it again!
As he and Euran step down towards a mostly eager but nervous crowd, Valsog makes his way towards you. The crowd eagerly parts (or more accurately, frantically dodges being kicked underfoot) for the slag giant. So, Tygora is taken care of. He states matter of factoy. I think my work will continue here. It is quiet, with little distractions. But I look forward to seeing the orders you have promised me. Something challenging if you please. And you, elf-man: that dwarf-blade of yours should have no crack mar it. It would be honoring to let me see if I am skilled enough to repair it.
While Valsog waits for Jarlaxle's answer, the Pathfinder Barnaby looks to the rest of you and asks: So, seems like we missed something in a cell. Sure it's a great story to. But, can we go back home now?
Lem aka Uktar
|
"Indeed, as soon as our compatriot concludes his business with Valsog, it is time to take you home."
Just checking, we have all 3 pathfinders, all alive, right? I.e."dwarven cleric of Angradd, Ulark, the half-elf detective, Barnaby and the human witch, Vetis." If so, other than whatever happens with Valsog/Gamin, is it time for dayjob roll?
| GM Zoomba |
Pretty much :) Your mission has. Even a smashing success, not only freeing the Pathfinders but also freeing the oreads from Tygora and doing you best to ensure the new leadership system/transition will be stable (freeing the Councilor, getting the people on your side, trying to avoid killing ifrit)
I may have been over-vague in my last post, but ended up writing it on 31-hours of no sleep :p

No worries. Thought maybe we'd missed something, but went back to mission brief and figured we were good.
Upon reaching the PFS lodge with all 3 missing pathfinders, Lem submits his written report then wishes his fellow adventurers nothing but success in all future missions. Then he pulls out his flute and goes off to play for his supper.
