I can't wait for this to start, kinda wish it was easier to find low level things happening.
Also GM would you be alright with our characters chatting a bit before you officially start the thread so that we don't have to go through introduction and possibly get some character development?
GM Alias |
Go for it. I won't be contributing to the gameplay thread until the official start, but you are welcome to talk amongst yourselves. The scenario begins as the group gathers for the Grand Convocation at the Grand Lodge in Absalom. Pathfinders from all over Golarion gather to share stories and reconnect with fellow agents.

If you try and post something---IE. / DOt-----. and someone has already posted the same thing in the same way. It will bump you back to editing. Try posting it in a way that hasn't been used. DOT, dot, dotting, dotted etc.

Thanks for the heads up boldren, and Awesome a swashbuckler and someone who worked as a sailor for a little while XD just having a good chat.

So the game kicks off tomorrow. For those who don't know, this is one of the Special scenarios. They are designed for use in convention play. All of the tables at the convention work towards a common set of goals, and the success or failure of each table adds to the collective success or failure of the entire group. In order for that to happen, all the tables have to run on more or less the same schedule. As such, there may be points in the game play where I have to cut a scene short and move things along to the next stage. I will try to keep that to a minimum. As long as everyone commits to posting at least once a day, we should be good on the schedule. If you are going to be gone for a couple of days, let me know and we will bot your character accordingly.
Just to get started, if everyone could post their PFS#, faction, and day job roll here, I can get the paperwork started.
See you tomorrow at the starting gun.

I am unfortunately going to have to withdraw from the game. I just realized I have a different character preparing to run this in a tier 3-4 game. My apologies, I wish the group the best of luck on the adventure.

Aw sad to see you go baldren, so many bald joke possibilities gone D:
PFS # 180851-2
Faction: Adv. Lodge
Day Job: Perform Sing:: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Otieno |
PFS #: 57676-7
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: Profession (herbalist): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

“Pathfinders, please get settled. All campus-wide events are closing. All venture-captains and field agents are invited to gather on the north lawn for refreshments and the keynote address in several minutes.”
Table GMs Act 2 begins November 10th when the Overseer Announcement is made, please begin to conclude whatever contests are ongoing.
Lynn Kuro |
I vote that we start in the northeast campus and work our way around so that we can enter the skyreach from the front... spent way to many days thinking about how game dungeons have been set up to make the most grand final entrance.
Kardiv Pern |
Hey guys, just a heads up I'll be out of town until the end of the weekend starting tomorrow morning and wifi will likely be spotty at best, so if necessary to keep the game moving please feel free to bot me.
Lynn Kuro |
DM what kind of knowledge check would I need to determine the species/language that these creatures are and speak?
GM Alias |
No sweat. Normally, I would allow things to play out on a more leisurely schedule. But because this is a special, and it's got collective goals, I have to keep the action moving. Unfortunately, we are also running into the holidays, which adds an extra layer of challenge. Bottom line, I understand if people are busy and can't post, but I have to keep it moving.
DM Aron Marczylo |
On my third shift of 3-11pm so i've not been able to post. Especially as last night paizo's website had crashed before I crashed myself into the bed.
Lynn Kuro |
No disrespect but it would probably be good to get our end moving a bit more there hasn't been a post for a while.
GM Alias |
So, because the house earned an Overwhelming Victory, you each get two Excellence boons on your chronicle. You can choose from Combat, Magic, Resilience, or Skill boons. Let me know which two you want for your character.
We also get to roll for Gameday boons!
Boon Rolls:
Lynn: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Otieno: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Felix: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Kardiv: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Achmed: 1d20 ⇒ 4
GM Alias: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Boon of players choice on a natural roll of 1 or 20
**Re-Rolls not allowed on boons**
Congratulations, Lynn and Kardiv! I will send you a PM with Gameday Boon instructions.
I will get the game reported, and chronicles out to you in the next day or so.
Thanks for playing, everyone.
GM Alias |
The session has been reported.
This is the text for the Excellence boons. You each get to pick two. I need to know which two you want before I can send your chronicle sheets.
Pathfinder’s Excellence (Combat): Before making an attack, you may check one of the boxes preceding this boon in order to roll the attack twice and take the better result. If the attack is against a member of the Aspis Consortium or someone directly in the Consortium’s employ, the critical threat range of the attack doubles; this benefit doesn’t stack with any other effect that expands the threat range of a weapon (such as the Improved Critical feat). Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.
Pathfinder’s Excellence (Magic): Before casting a spell or using a spell-like ability, you can check one of the boxes preceding this boon in order to roll twice for any caster level check to overcome spell resistance and on caster level or concentration checks made to cast a spell in an impeded area (such as a fire spell underwater or a plane with the impeded magic trait). Any members of the Aspis Consortium or foes directly in the Consortium’s employ suffer a –2 penalty on any saving throw against the spell. As a standard action, you can instead check two boxes in order to recall a spell that you have already cast that day. The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast. Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.
Pathfinder’s Excellence (Resilience): As a swift action, you can check one of the boxes preceding this boon to gain a number of temporary hit points equal to 1d8 plus twice your character level. These temporary hit points last for 10 minutes and do not stack with any other temporary hit points. So long as you have at least 1 of these temporary hit points remaining, you also have DR 2/— against attacks made by members of the Aspis Consortium and anyone in their direct employ. Alternatively, as a standard action you can check a box in order to heal 1d2 points of ability damage to one ability score. Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.
Pathfinder’s Excellence (Skill): Before attempting a skill check, you can check one of the boxes preceding this boon in order to roll the check twice and take the better result. If the skill check is one attempted during an encounter in which you are directly opposing a member of the Aspis Consortium or someone in their employ, you gain a bonus to the check equal to half your character level (minimum +1). Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.
