Aayalla Rand |

I have not seen such a creature before. By strength alone it could tear any of us apart. I can not give it that chance.
Aayalla watches as the creature enters and waits for the opportunity. Once it presents itself she moves with grace and speed toward the giant. As she reaches the creature she leaps into the air seemingly running up the creature. With a quick thrust her blade penetrates and passes through the creature. She pushes and flips off landing at its feat. The wound is cauterized by the energy blade but now leaves a whole clean through the creature. It looks at the wound and Aayalla in shock at first not knowing what she did until the pain shoots through its body and it realizes it has received a near fatal blow.
Desperate Battler Active: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Swift: Momentum Crash
Full: Martial Charge w/ Rising Zenith Strike
Shiak w/Power Attack: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
Damage: 4d6 + 54 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 2) + 54 + (3) = 73
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Brill-Mane |

Brill-Mane launches himself at the Giant, his large falchion clearing it's scabbard. The blade comes down with a flash.
falchion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Dom-Nhal |

Two-headed giant. Looks artificial. Perhaps necrosurgery?
Dom-Nhal thrusts with the spear, trusting in its greater reach to help keep the thing away from him.
Spear Thrust: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 (3BAB, 5STR, 1MWK)
Spear Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Compared to Aayalla's damage, I'm glad I just make things... -_-

DM Grimshaad |

Your flurry of attacks is so intense that the massive two-headed giant topples backwards into the cavern wall. Stalactites rain down on the prone creature and pin it to the cave floor, its thick blood pooling beneath it.
The uglier head, or presumably Throg, is locked in a grimace of pain, the smoking hole in its chest still exuding the stink of burnt flesh.
Still somehow alive after your onslaught, the younger, though hardly better looking, head, or Grombol, whimpers weakly as its death hurriedly approaches.
(In Giant)"Da' King 'il get yas.." as Grombol grumbles his dying words blood bubbles up from his mouth and he coughs sporadically, coating you all in a mist and gobbets of stinky phlegm and blood,"...and w'n 'e duz yool be sorry. Da' King is way tuffa' den even Throg..."
A final word followed by a rather disgusting exhalation and the abomination ceasing moving. The sound and stink of what follows is something only Brill-Mane smiles lewdly at.
I'll be honest, I beefed the hell outta that thing and you still tore through it like tissue paper, LOL. Seems things will get more... challenging as a result, my dear players >:D. Also, currently set up on the job between shifts so my posting will be like once to twice a day until like saturday, sorry for the slow progression. Just one thing after another these last two weeks o.O, but the next few fights and exchanges should be fun I hope :)
I'll post experience and loot later today.

Yes Scarlet Throne is a powerful maneuver set. Having the ability to basicaly inflict a critical hit is very strong even more so with the Martial Charge Feat allowing you to do a Strike at the end.
Aayalla looks down at the blood spatter upon her robes and simply shakes her head. She stands a moment and listens just to make sure all threat has passed before her blade vanishes again. She lets go of the hilt as it floats back to her side as she begins to look over the creature.(w/Detect Psionics)
"Well done. We struck as a team. I have been sent out many times as an agent of the order and still have seen nothing like this thing. It looks like it was put together by some form of surgery and magic."

Brill-Mane |

Brill-Mane looks at the Human female with a strange glance. She is strong. She should be leader.
He slides his giant blade back into its sheathe, and sits down.
He said that the 'King' Will come for us. And that the King is tougher. Brill-Mane translates. Should be a fun fight. I'd say we could cook him, but Giant doesn't taste all that good.

Aayalla Rand |

"I'm sorry Kavon, I meant I was sent out as a Janissarie agent, I have not been here before and by large I assumed he meant more like Brill-Mane there. If we encounter another it would be best to gather some information. I can read thoughts given the proper set up. I am curious as to why this creature was here. It all could just be chance, or the other group was tortured for information before being eaten."

Dom-Nhal |

"That was... enlightening." Dom-Nhal says, tapping the butt of the spear on the ground. After a few minutes, the weapon seems to peel apart, breaking down into little squares of material that then glimmer into yellow light and fade away.
"Aayalla, that was some maneuver you performed." he comments. "Can you do something like that often?"

Aayalla Rand |

"I have many skills with my energy blade. That particular is reserved as a show of respect for the enemy. It is a finisher. I can also manipulate the energy to protect myself and even others that are not too far away. It may not absorb all of the blow but it should save your life if used at the right time." She pauses and thinks for a moment. Her foot tapping with her arms crossed. After a moment she smiles and shrugs with her arms extended.
"To tell the truth I have always been able to do it when I have decided too, but I have never needed to use it more then once a battle."
She gives an innocent smile.
"I'm impressed by your ability there to create. It doesn't seem psionic in nature so that means magical? I can manipulate the energy I use into a smaller blade but that is about it. I do have a trick that will let me manipulate it into many different forms but it only last a few moments when I do that."
I'm sure she knows her capabilities and knows if she chooses to she could use it every other round if time is spent to recover. If anything should would have found this out while training but you know. :)

Kavon Uday |
"Let's leave everything here, in the cave." suggests Kavon after inspection the possessions of the double-headed giant. "We probably won't need all of this in the near future."
He then turns to the Brill-Mane.
"Thank you. That was great acting." he bows his head slightly. "And I'm sorry for my outburst before. I just don't like sudden touches."
With that done, he shows him the bark roll and asks, "Brill-Mane, can you read this?"

Aayalla Rand |

Edited as Kavon Ninja'd me :)
Aayalla sees nothing among the things that will help them and decides to go make sure the outside is clear why the others gather things up. She takes a look outside.
Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

Brill-Mane |

Brill-Mane looks at the bark roll, and goes to read it.
It is ok, I expect some of you are still like pups. My vision, it has faded, though with the fade came some other things. I think I failed to mention my Brills for which I am named. Hopefully you never have to see them.

DM Grimshaad |

Patrol southern part of valley. Bring all found to me. Kill all that resist. Hail Goliathon.
The barkroll's message also has most of it's lower portion devoted to a carved map of some kind.
SKILL CHECK: What is that map?
-Survival
Beyond the cave entrance is rugged terrain of hillocks and boulders. Large, ancient-looking trees scatter the area and the trail leading from the cave is faint but discernible, leading off to the northeast.
The pleasant scent of pine catches in your nose as a chilly breeze wafts through the cavern. Sunlight outside marks the waning of the day and in the distance you can hear faint growls and the groans of trees in the wind.
The cooling corpse of the giant abomination lies in a heap, the bag of its belongings stained but opened and bearing its contents you you.
The mounts have calmed and seem much more amicable to being led from the cavern now.
As you all discuss things and disseminate the loot, Aayalla peers outside and surveils the area.
I need to know how loot will be split up and who is carrying what. Discuss that among yourselves, please. We'll do travel by the hour, so there will be a Perception roll once for every hour of travel or sleep.

Aayalla Rand |

"Things look clear outside. It is a bit cool if you wish to bring the pelts along for warmth when we camp. So there is a map? Are any of you skilled at reading them? I have a bit of natural skill but have not been trained."
I have a +6 to survival if no one else is better. I assumed Brill would share what he found so just helping to move things along. If no one has survival higher Aayalla will take 10 when reading the map for a 16 to figure out where this ettin came from. Aayalla will no be carrying any of this loot. The pelts should be divided up among the horses if we wish to take them.
