I'm assuming Daniloth and Mosi didn't discover anything with their perception checks at the door?
Markas Songsteel
|
Sorry meant to keep posting but then got busy at work. If the door is clear based on checks then I will enter
Not wanting to linger in the room any longer, Markas opens the door leading into the adjacent room. While doing so he readies himself for anything that might be waiting on the other side. He turns to the rest of the group "Be ready" before turning back around and walking into the room.
Vohnkar - ERW
|
I will be right behind you Markas
Vohnkar positions himself and moves with the fighter into the next room.
| Mosi Ndiya |
"Thanks for the healing Fronar "With his glowing sword in hand Mosi stands behind Markas. "I'm ready."

"Me too... " comes Seijiro's voice from the rear...

Examinations of the door didn't find any traps.
Markas opens the door after getting the all clear from the people that took a closer look at it.
It opens up into a very small room.
Inside if a blond haired human, who's gagged and shackled to the wall inside some locked manacles. He tries to shy away from you as the door opens blinking his eyes at the sudden appearance of light in his cell. He's covered in all sort of bruises and a few small cuts, his face is pretty swollen and caked with dried blood. He's not wearing any armor.
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro peeks over (under?) others' shoulders to peer into the room. "Either this is someone worth rescuing, or a very clever ruse. Want me to check out those manacles and see if I can open them?"
| Mosi Ndiya |
"WHO ARE YOU"Mosi says while looking at the beat up prisoner.

Seijiro holds off from trying to open the restraints to see if the prisoner answers Mosi's question. He does move a bit closer though.

gagged and shackled
He can not answer. Vohnkar moves forward and removes the gag.
Fronar Gossamar
|
Fronar sees an opportunity to shed light on the situation (pun intended). He speaks a few words and dramatically jets a hand out, as if throwing something into the room. casts dancing lights
"Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio"

As the man blinks his eyes and hears you scream at him he looks up and somehow seems relieved to see you. He tries to say something, but it comes out as mumbling and you are unable to hear what he says.
He tries to move his manacles in such a way that you can have easy access to them, just in case you try to unleash him.
Vohnkar - ERW
|
Dink. Commands Vohnkar as he he offers the man water from his water skin.
Daniloth Winterglen
|
Should we trust this man? He claims he is of the society, but...
"Daniloth Winterglen. I am much of the same. What brought you here and why do we find you in such a state?"
Fronar Gossamar
|
"How did you come to be an ornament in this room? As it is rare for a single person to travel and explore, what has become of your party? Oh, and I am..." Fronar jumps in the air and spins 360 degrees theatrically upon landing, then bows elegantly. "... Fronar Gossamar, teller of tales, chronicler of adventure, victim of troglodyte stench, and pathfinder of the Grand Lodge!"
| Mosi Ndiya |
"Mosi Ndiya, adventurer, hunter and tracker. Added recently slayer of troglodytes." Mosi nods to the prisoner."Who made you his b&+@@? "

"I was out a few days? ago..time seems to have lost it's meaning for me. When I noticed that one of the towers in the Cairnlands was ripped open when an earthquake hit. Being an explorer I decided to investigate so I had something to report to the Pathfinder Society, but before I got to far I was jumped by some troglodytes, hideous lizard men that captured me and beat me up..and then kept beating me up every few hours."
"Didn't you have problems with lizardmen in here? And could you please free me now? I'd like to leave this place and return to the lodge in Absolom to report on what I've found here so far."
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro scowls slightly. "Why don't you join us, and report back when we return to Absalom... it would be safer then venturing off on your own again."
While he speaks, he begins to work on the manacles.

As Seijiro opens up his manacles using disable device Balenar thanks you.
"I agree, safety in numbers. But I feel a little bit unprotected and unarmed right now...did you happen to find my gear before you found me? I had some nice armor, my trust rapier and a few other odds and ends"
"I've only seen a bit of the lower level and the staircase..I know there's at least 5 troglodytes in here..but other then that I have very little information I can share with you. I'd like to hear your stories about what you encountered here..when we have a little more time that is."
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro sighs as he pulls the MW rapier from his scabbard and holds it forward. "Is this yours, then?" he asks with a note of disappointment in his voice.
If Balenar answers in the affirmative, he takes his old rapier from where he strapped it to his pack and re-places it in its old position on his belt.
If Balenar answers 'no' (not expected though), Seijiro grins and slides the MW rapier back into its scabbard.
| Mosi Ndiya |
"Damn you Seijiro "Mosi starts to replace his new armor with his old. "If I dont Fronar will make me look bad when he tells this story "When he is done he gives the armor to the prisoner. Looking to Fronar "You better make me look just as good as Seijiro "

UP. Responds Vohnkar to the prisoner's question.
First we need to check the northern door in the next room. Jiro, check if it is trapped.
Seijiro Saketa

perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Seijiro checks for traps on the northern door, but his thoughts are scattered and his attention not on his job.
Fronar Gossamar

"Mosi, your secret would have been safe with me...." Fronar grins and finishes, "... and a room full of complete strangers in the local pub!"
"Easy come, easy go... when it comes to treasure."
Vohnkar - ERW

As Jiro finishes looking over the door Vohnkar waits behind him, sword in hand. When the rogue is down he steps forward and opens the door.
Markas Songsteel
|
Markas waits by the door next to Vohnkar ready to enter the room upon the ready from the rest of the party. Looking at Balenar "Are you sure you know of nothing else in this tower?"

Balenar thanks Daniloth for getting back his wayfinder. It's a very personal item for him with lots of memories. He also thanks Mosi for getting back his armor..he feels much better while wearing some sort of protection while he's here.
"I was attacked and then dragged up here when I was climbing up to the second floor..then I got regular beating..I haven't seen much of this tower. sorry that I can't be more helpful"
You move to check out the other door on this floor and Seijiro doesn't detect any thing that indicates the presence of the trap on the door so he gives to all-clear to open it.
Inside you see:
Cracks in the walls and ceiling of this chamber have allowed rainwater to collect here, flooding the room and giving rise to a profusion of mold and fungus along the walls and ceiling.
Splashing around in the ankle deep puddles is a frog the size of a large dog. As it notices you opening the door it licks its lips and it's tongue flicks out towards you.

It's just a frog. Vohnkar says and he starts to close the door was a barrage of arrows wiz by his ear and is nearly knocked over as Markas storms through the door.
After a moment of thought Vohnkar nods his head as if finally understanding something, I see, we do not like frogs. With that he moves into the room to to aid Markus,
Greatsword w/power attack
attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 1 = 10
damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 + 3 = 13
@Markas,
I moved you on the map. Unfortunately from where you were you couldn't make it to a square that gave those in the door a clear shot. Not with your 20ft move and swing.

Following the rest Mosi enters the room and tries to attack the frog.Attack : 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Damage : 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6"Lets have some frog legs for dinner "

Fronar dances into the room providing the usual pre-game inspiration, he's provided since the group met him. "If I've learned anything about this party, this event won't last long. I wonder which of you will have the most impressive contribution to how this will be re-told later?"
Inspire Courage. +1 attack, +1 damage for this and the next 2 rounds! (not that this will LAST 2 more rounds :)

Both Seijiro and Daniloth are able to put an arrow into the frog while it's still thinking about dinner.
Markas and Vohnkar are a bit less successful as they walk into the room and miss the frog with their melee attacks.
Mosi then follows after then and manages to procure some fancy dining for the party.
Fronar can remember that giant frogs have a very long tongue (15ft rach) that they can use to pull creatures closer to them and possibly even swallow those captured whole.
Out of combat, save your performance for a next fight Fronar

Daniloth Winterglen

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Daniloth circles the room looking for anything that might of use to the company. Underneath a table, he finds a small jade statue in the shape of an angel. He picks it up and shows it to everyone but Vohnkar, who has already left the room. "Does this mean anything to anyone?" he asks the remaining party members, but particularly Balenar.
Seijiro Saketa

"It's pretty... we should take it with us. Probably worth something."
Fronar Gossamar
|
Fronar grins and says, "As I expected, this battle was over before it even began." He turns to Mosi as he is wiping the slime off his weapon from the frog, "Impressive blow Mosi. I'll probably leave the part out about Seijiro and Daniloth softening the giant frog up first. Daniloth, I think that statue means that the frog doesn't care for hard candy."

There is one door left in this room, after opening it you find out it leads to a small landing from which you can look to the outside of the tower through the huge crack that's been formed in the side of it.
Balenar looks over the jade statue that Daniloth shows him

"No..don't know anything about that..looks pretty though"
The only way left is the staircase that leads to what appears to be the top of the tower.
