"Someone is upstairs and they just threw something out the window into the courtyard!" He rushes to the stairs and hurries up.

Although Minuro/Thundercloud doesn't hear anything of note after the fight with the goblins, the fact that Hskrota mentioned something being thrown outside the window prompts the masked Wayang to say to the remaining party (besides the Nagajii, who went upstairs), "Should we let the guards outside the door know about something being tossed out a window from upstairs? I'd better go and see if there's anything else waiting up there..."

At any rate, instead of sticking around to hear an answer from his fellow compatriots, Thundercloud will go up the stairs after Hskrota- with lucerne hammer still in hand.

Hskrota and Minuro can't seem to locate Hjort and his cronies upstairs. A gust of wind coming from one of the chambers on the west side of the facility. As they cautiously enter the room they see the windows are open and loking outside to the courtyard below they see 4 well armed people who seem to have just climbed down there. Two of them look familiar: they resemble the descriptions of Hjort Fastaxe and Runa White!

The enemy is inside the courtyard on the western side of the armory. You are split. How do you want to approach this?

@DM Elan Morin: I moved Thundercloud's piece upstairs with Hskrota on the Armory Map since that would be where he is ingame-wise.

From the broken window upstairs, would Minuro/Thundercloud have enough of a range with his 30' mystic bolt ability to attack Hjort, Runa, and company from way down below at the courtyard? If so, he'll go and make a ranged attack on them; if not, he'll likely head back downstairs unless prompted to do so otherwise by Hskrota or the others.

Spellwise, I got nothing. Apart from Mystic bolt attacking from the broken window/s upstairs, I could attempt to drop some marbles down on our villainous foursome.

@ Minuro: considering the height with 30' range Minuro could target the two opponents standing near the walls, not the other two

Best use of a "water balloon" shenanigan in a combat situation! This one's going in my 'vault' of greatest RPG maneuvers witnessed.

Thanks, Scuttlebutt- I'm glad that it worked out as it did. ;)

Let's just say the THunderbolt aimed for the square near the robed man which has AC 5 and then dealt damage to every square near the target...

And Thank you, DM Elan Morin, going to have to remember about that "aiming for the square" bit; didn't know that was even possible. :)

Minuro throws the acid flask and its contents burn the robed man, the wounded monk and the woman in white below. The wizard curses and casts a spell back up at the Thundercloud!

Smarting from the sting of that full blown Magic Missile, Minuro /Thundercloud decides against dropping the bag of marbles once he sees that Scuttlebutt has made the ground around Hjort, Runa, Hskrota, and the now completely prone, possibly expired, shuriken-throwing lackey of Hjort all greasy-like. Added some green drops to the affected areas via the shapes drop-down menu, btw.

Instead, the masked Wayang opts to go into a shooting match with the robed man, using his mystic bolts of lightning...

Will wear his buckler as his move action, use up his last usage of Shadow Speaker for a +2 on attacking as a swift action, and fire away with his mystic bolt as his standard action.

Attack by Mystic Bolt on Lazar: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 10.

electrical damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5.

"Tough bastard, aren't we?" Azadeh mutters when the red-haired warrior still stands after her and Calephe's combined attacks. Undeterred she calls again on the powers of earth, and let's another hail of stones fly against Hjort.

earth blast: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 damage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

@all: Sorry to have been silent for so long. Seems like I bit more than I can chew with participipating in three games simultaneously and underestimated how that would clash with my time at the moment.

Minuro misses Lazar. Not so Azadeh, whose earth blast hits Hjort again sending him flying into the air only to land loudly into the ground...

Stabilization check (Hjort): 1d20 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 5 = 12

Where he lays, twitching.

The wizard takes a step back and sends anotyher magical projectile at the Thundercloud...

Slippery sea lions! That's not what was supposed to happen!

Scuttlebutt nearly stumbles over the next verses of his song when he sees the adversaries maintain their footing but witnesses Hskrota crash horribly from his spell. But after Azadeh fells the mountainous Hjort, the odds look improved and emboldens the young scholar. His attention turns to the magic wielding foe in the back and he adds an improvised line in his musical chorus of a dark and threatening nature that he emphasizes towards that caster.

He can't move, but at least he kept his feet this time.

I believe that counts as two move actions. If I can still attack, I will of course. Also I triggered an AoO when standing if applicable from the lady in white.

Scuttlebutt's attempt to intimidate Lazar fails badly as does Calephe's attack thanks to the wizard's magical defenses.
"Because he's paying me, you fool!" he answers Scuttlebutt but then he pales visibly as he notices Etude returning with 2 guards and suddenly the odds for his victory plummet completely.
"Ok, you won. I'm not getting paid enough to die here. I surrender!" he says.
Meanwhile Hskrota gets back to his feet while the woman in white bashes him with her mace...
