oops, sorry Lauranna, when I was checking if everyone acted, I saw your post reminding everyone about being inspired. Reminder to self: drink coffee _before_ posting.

Lauranna's smiley earthbreaker smashes the two remaining zombies to bits.

This time, not only Lauranna but also Aerian and Syllyn get splattered with yucky zombie bits.

Edit: Actually, Lauranna squished the yellow zombie before it could attack her, so no one was injured other that Syllyn's two points from a missed alchemist fire throw.

The disease doesn't take effect for several days, so it won't impact anything now. I'm going to push forward to the next room, and we can always retcon it or drink from the fountain on the way out at the end.

A shallow reflecting pool divides this long chamber, running from one end to the other. The water looks cloudy and stagnant. What must have once been marvelous murals covering both walls are now scorched and ruined, the original subject lost in the destruction.

Dylph as usual enters the room first, checking for traps.

Dylph's perception: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 1 = 28

Dylph:
The pool is a trap. Anyone who gets within 5 feet of it cannot help look into it, and will then be targetted with a spell that causes fear. This looks like a difficult trap to deal with.

Syllyn recovers 2 points of damage on his turn due to Skald's vigor, so he is back up to max.

He will drink from the fountain when they leave this place. If that doesn't work, he has an antiplage he will use before the disease takes hold.

Sorry, Dylph, but you can't take 20 on disabling traps, since there's a consequence for failure. You can either take 10 or roll. You also could request guidance from Lauranna, and an aid another from Aerian. Aerian has +9 on disable device, so his aid auto-succeeds.

edit: You also could ask Lauranna for bit of luck. It would let you roll twice and use the better roll.

I can try to disable the trap, with Aerian's assistance, and perhaps Lauranna can cast guidance upon me...or we can blindfold ourselves so we won't look into the pool and walk around the pool, using the walls as a guide, until we reach the exit..."

I'm assuming that Aerian and Lauranna both help, in which case Dylph disables the trap. Please go ahead and post whatever comments you make or anything like that. I wouldn't want to miss a chance for Lauranna's 'guidance.'

You move through the room with the pool and also move through a doorway. This doorway looks like it is usually blocked with a portcullis; this must be what the wheel moved.

You move forward into another room with large niches in the walls for bodies, like the one with zombies earlier.

No takers on that flask? I hope this hits. By the way, PFS rules say you are not allowed to damage another player intentionally unless you get their permission. Since a hit will damage Purnel he has to OK this. But under the circumstances, fighting swarms and all, I think a little collateral is inevitable.

It's such a cool, crazy thing to do, I'm making the swarm lose 1 HP.

Lorqinor blasts the blue swarm again.

Syllyn is unable to affect the bats but he could soak up damage. So he moves next to the red swarm and waves his sword through them to rile them up. He also ceases his performance. Too busy swatting bats.

"Wow there are a lot of them. I guess I don't usually pester them in their lair, though there are Plenty of these things where I come from."

You move on into the next room, which has a high vaulted ceiling. The center of the room has a deep chasm, crossed by a 10 foot wide bridge. On the other side of the bridge, a pair of stone statues watch over the bridge. A set of large brass doors stand on the other side of the bridge, imprinted with images of villagers holding spears and shields.

You all notice that the statues are a trap. If you stand on pressure plates on the bridge, the statues will move forward and push you, either back off the bridge, or into the chasm.

He continues after with, "Do bats carry any diseases?" "These scratches...they are deep!"

As they approach the bridge, Purnel inspects the architecture. Is this typical of the work during Dessen's time? Bumble bees... trees with carrots growing on them... falling would hurt a lot...Is there something else here that would point to anther way or a trap circumventing aspect?

Purnell sees several interesting flourishes in how the bridge is decorated that he wants to think about more at his leisure, but nothing that impacts the statue trap.

Aerian safely disables the trap. As soon as you are all ready, you make your way across the bridge and up to the heavy, imposing looking brass doors. If we were playing face to face, I could also use my voice to emphasize how important this door looks, but here I can't, so please consider that fact suitably emphasized. Syllyn took a scratch or so from the alchemists' fire, and some others may also be very mildly hurt.
