GM Aerondor |
Sure, and Sam can definitely help with that.
Sam wields the wand with aplume, and soon both Garn and Snowball are feeling much better.
Silgil |
Silgil marches over to the tent so see if their young nobleman is in there.
Darven Kinock |
Can some one help the bloodied fighter? Apparently, he lost his wand along the way.
GM Aerondor |
Within the largest tent is a large trunk, from which a banging can be heard. Next to the trunk is a set of torn and bloodied clothes and a large sword.
In one corner sits a bedroll covered in mattered fur, next to it is a table surrounded by pigeon feathers, splintered bones and the fragments of a cage.
Sam steps away from the wolf and heals everyone a bit.

The sword is an Aldori duelling sword. Not a greatsword, or an oversized one, but for most folk, it is still pretty big.
Silgil |
Silgil is curious to see how the bowman fared when his pit spell elapses.
Tatiana Malkolva |
Tatiana stablize the blooddied bowman.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Tatiana is quick to see a set of keys hangs on a pole nearby and move next to the large trunk hoping to find Lord Lebeda alive.
Darven Kinock |
Darven gets to his feet after the channel. "Tanks my friends."[b] Dusty himself off, he grabs his sword off the ground and puts it away and puts his shield back on his arm.
Darven begins going through the defeated ones belonging, searching for potions and weapons of value.
Take 10 on perception for 18
Darven snatches up the keys and opens the chest. Taking a guess of who or what is inside.
[b]"hold on a minute, gotta find da right key"
GM Aerondor |
Darven, looking not much better than the bowman, and Tatiana open the chest. Within indeed, is a battered and bruised man, who looks like, if he was cleaned up, could possibly be Lander.
He rises to his feet.
"You there, wench! Don't just stand gaping at your betters. Especially not while I am just in my smallclothes. Go fetch me something to wear!"
Tatiana Malkolva |
Of course my Lord, but first, I'm sure you want to be washed and fed.
She says as she call for Pharasma's power and cold water falls on Lander washing him.
Then she moves to get Lander's cloth.
There my Lord. she also give him the aldori's sword they found. I think it's your my Lord, as I've heard you follow the Great Adori's steps.
GM Aerondor |
Somewhat mollified, Lander steps, dripping, out of the chest.
"Yes. They only got me by unchivalrous practises. Next time please ensure the water is heated."
Darven notices a few things in the tent and the fallen mens possessions.
Firstly the weapons are all well made, with the same makers mark. Secondly on the table in the tent there is a piece of paper. Slide four in the map deck
Silgil |
"We have been tasked by your father with locating you and returning you to safety. He also instructed us to enlighten you, hoping we could dissuade you from pursuing a dangerous path, like the one we do. Consider yourself dissuaded and let's be on our way."
Silgil seems a little annoyed by something.
GM Aerondor |
"Disuaded?" mocks the nobleman.
"Never! My sword will be bathed in bandit blood before I return to my dear mother. Tis my duty to make safe the countryside!"
Garn Harlardorn - animal form |
Garn clearly does not like the haughty attitude of this soft and pale nobleman who things so high and mighty of himself. Especially after his loyal Snowball had sustained terrible injuries to free him. The Garn-dinosaur pads over the the man and sniffs at him.
Magga |
Magga points the metal stick at Lander, "You call this a sword? Well, it ain't one. But I'm sure we can find the little boy a dagger among the bodies outside."
Clearly finished with the conversation, Magga sheathes the aldori blade in her belt, then goes back outside and begins skinning the werewolf.
GM Aerondor |
"And keep your disgusting pet away from me. He stinks." says the bruised nobleman.
Grabbing his sword he waves it toward Garn. "Shoo. shoo."
Magga |
Magga stalks right up into Lander, literally. She forces him to back up several steps, then draws her own weapon and says, "Then take it from me. If you can."
CMD is 16, and remember his -4 penalty for being unarmed. I will forego the first AoO, but if he fails and tries again, the swordsmanship lesson begins.
Halberd: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Nonlethal: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
GM Aerondor |
Magga drapes the swordbelt over his shoulder and lays down a challenge.
"I do not fight with pesants." he says, pushing past her.
"You there" he says, pointing to Davern.
"Pass me one of those bandits swords and I'll show this wench who knows how to fight."
Tatiana Malkolva |
Can you stop it please Magga! You are in presence of Lord Lander Lebega, future Earl of this area. You must give him the respect of his rank. Our mission is to ensure the safety of the lord, not threatening him.
Tatiana tries to convey her worries that enraging Lord lander will make her journey back more difficult than wanted and enraging a lord wasn't a good idea neither.
Bluff (secret message): 1d20 + 2 + 3 + 1d4 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 3 + (1) = 16 use my Pin's faction for bluff
My Lord Lander, please, excuse my comrades, they not used to deal with lords and ladies.
I'm sure you are a good with a sword, but may be you idealise the life of Aldori and adventurers.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Garn Harlardorn - animal form |
Garn snarls at the rather pompous noble man.
We were sent to collect him and we've done that. Let's move! Garn does not relish spending more time with this dandy. Unfortunately, he is unable to speak and can only rather impatiently at the edge of the clearing in the direction back to the city.
Darven Kinock |
"Tatiana is right. Stop messing wit da boy. My Lordship, name is Darven." Darven looks over at Magga, "Give da boy is blade back. It tis not rightfully yours anyway. Misappropriation is still theft. Hate to see that you stole da blade from da boy some where in the report." Darven holds his open hand out to Magga, hoping she would place the blade in it.
Magga |
Magga looks at Tatiana and then Darven for a moment, before placing the sword in Darven's hand. "You, at least, have earned the right to a weapon. Though I strongly suggest you keep it for yourself. Putting a blade in that boy's hands is dangerous to everybody near him, including himself."
OOC, totally fine with you giving the sword to Lander.
GM Aerondor |
Lander bristles. Thought bloodied, bruised and beaten, it would seem his spirit is unbroken.
"We have work to do still. I cannot abide the stink of this camp any longer. Come! Follow me! We will seek out these vermin and exterminate them."
While not offended by Tatiana's words, he more or less ignores her now she has provided clothing and a bath.
others may want of course to help with that diplomacy check.
Darven Kinock |
"Tanks Magga"
Darven hands back the boys sword, "That was not da mission. Mission was to find you and bring you home. Show some respect for your parents and come back wit us. If your lucky, we could possibly persuade your ma and pa allow you to train wit us."
diplomacy to aid: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Silgil |
Silgil, back to being a patient dwarf, observes the antics. Do I really care whether we pursue the bandits or not? Certainly not in order to bolster the youths over-inflated opinion of himself. Then again, he is a lordling and the society likes to cully favor with such. On the other hand, who's favor is more important, the father's or the child's?
Then there is the potential loot!
"Well, I guess I'm OK with rooting out the bandits. That last one was a bit tough, and he is not even the leader. I'm ready for a challenge."
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Not much of a diplomat, but he's saying all the things the boy wants to hear!
GM Aerondor |
Lander nods to Silgil, while happily ignoring Darven for the moment.
"Right!" says the battered lad "Let us be off. I'm sure they went this way!" and he tears off into the underbrust. "Come follow me my page! Glory awaits! Tally Ho!"
Those who have not tried, may if they choose still help with aids on the diplomacy
Garn Harlardorn - animal form |
Garn merely growls in frustration, not liking to babysit this noble any longer than necessary.
Doubt he can make a diplomacy check in his form. :)
GM Aerondor |
The day seems to go on forever. Lander leading the group deeper and deeper into the woods, albeit perhaps in a vaguely home related direction. It is coming up for evening when...
who: 1d7 ⇒ 3
attack: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Darven feels a slight sting on his face, his hand goes up, and comes back sticky and red..
"We are under attack!" cries Lander drawing his sword.

Tatiana Malkolva |
During their travel, Tatiana looks at the letter found in the bandit leader's tent and something seems to bother her.
Is one of you buy a weapon from Marek? I would like to look at something.
But before anyone could answer her, a creature attacks Darven!
She calls for her godess to help poor Darven who seems the target of all their ennemies!
May Pharasma help you continue your destiny!
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Garn Harlardorn - animal form |
How much time has passed? Checking whether my buffs have expired.
Not seeing any immediate target, Garn snarls at Snowball to DEFEND the irritant, otherwise known as Landor. Much as he detest the soft human, he still wishes to avoid a death on the parties' hands.
Lifting up his snout, Garn smells the air. Once he detects the location of the attackers, he moves straight towards them.
Move action: use scent to note direction of scent of attackers if within 30ft, 60ft if upwind, 15ft if downwind.
Another move action to move in direction, if any.
GM Aerondor |
Several hours have passed and it is now late afternoon.
Tatiana notes that Lander's sword has the same marking on it. It is an eagle clutching a pair of tongs.
Garn smells something to the right and moves in that direction.
Silgil |
Darven again?! I hope he doesn't take another dirt nap.
Silgil begins the expected Enlarge Person with Magga's wand as soon as feasible.
"From where? What?"
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
He looks in the direction the dinosaur went, squinting as he concentrates on locating the attacker(s).
Garn Harlardorn - animal form |
GM, do I move Garn's token myself, or did you meant to move him? I see Grimshaw's token has moved, but not Garn's. (Sorry two dinosaurs are confusing... :P Garn will move to the max of his movement, 60ft.
GM Aerondor |
The smithing mark matches that of the bandits weapons.
"Now I have a weapon I will happily duel you, peasant" snarls Lander.
"But first we have an assault to deal with!"
who: 1d7 ⇒ 3
what: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Another red splotch appears, this time on Daven's ear.
"You are as slow in your heads as you are with your legs" calls a mocking voice, irritatingly (for Garn), in a different direction that that which he had moved.
Lander bristles. "I've had it with these sneaky bandits! Come out and fight me if you are so clever!" she shouts.
The voice didn't really sound like what you would think a bandit would sound like, more like a child almost
Silgil |
"Bandits do not employ berries as projectile weapons. This smells like the fey. Maybe if we put out some milk or something. Anyone have any milk?"
Darven Kinock |
"Ok..ok, enough with da berries. Come out, we wont hurt cha." Darven says holding up his hands in "surrender".
GM Aerondor |
"Only because you can't." jeers the voice.
"I'll fight that stupid man with the big sword. We'll see how smart he is..."
Anyone going to interfere?
Darven Kinock |
Magga, I think you got a challenger Darven jest with the unseen voice, finding it rather amusing.
I'd say keep heading through, no need to mess with the local wild life.
