So you did
After the combined assault the creature is still standing, but not looking especially hale.

Fire: Round 2 <-currently suppressed by Ledt and his cloak.
Peter - 4 damage ;
Zolaffer -
Theodic -
Gregor -
iron claw - 20 damage! Dying, 4 saves (3xwill DC13 vs paralysis; 1xfort DC13 vs ghoul fever) and a stabilize check <- probably not really required as it looks like ironclaw is out of this fight.
Ledt -
Bodies:
-blue 11 damage

will: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
will: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
will: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
"Ironclaw!" Gregor's hout rings off the bulkheads as he sees his beloved bear go down under the brunt of the undead thing's attacks. He moved tot eh bear's side and sent a burst of healing energy into the bear. The eyes snapped open, though the bear still looked extremely injured. He also wasn't moving, which was a bad sign.
5' and cast cure light wounds on the bear
Edit: If you use 2 tricks to train attack, you don't have to push for undead and aberrations

Rules question: What action would it be to remove one's coat/jacket? Thinking about the fire issue here. Also, is Zolaffer still quite sodden from falling into the sea earlier?
In the meantime, fourth acid dart attack of the day, I think?
Zolaffer points through his allies in desperation and tries to tag the creature with another orb of acid.
Acid Dart, Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 3 - 4 = 8
Acid Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Cover is a bonus to AC, so factoring it is on the GM's end.
"Neither luck nor time is with us for this transaction, it seems!" shouts Zolaffer.

Sorry about this, Winnie-the-Pooh
Peter says while jumps over the bear's body and tries to slash the undead's putrid flesh.
Atk Grt Swd + PA: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 52d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 1) + 7 = 12
Sorry for being late, guys. Weekends are terrible for me to post, and last monday was holiday here in Brazil, the independence day, but now I'm back. =)

Removing a coat would probably be a move action. But if you were underwater it may be harder. Have a look at the rules on donning and undonning armour for a guide.
Ironclaw looks much better for the attention of Gregor.
Peter and Zolaffer both try to attack, but neither has any success.
The ghoul, presented with a larger and more aggressive target, moves from attacking Iron Claw to trying to rend Peter.
attack: 3d20 ⇒ (10, 8, 9) = 27
However the Ranger is wily and easily avoids the blows.

Suck this, damned beast!
Peter swings his greatsword in the undead's direction, then steps back.
Atk Grt Swd + PA: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 122d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 + 3 = 10

Ledt steps diagonally and attempts to throw another spark at the creature.
Elemental ray: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Electrical damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The electricity seems to disperse with the water and nothing really jumps from his finger.

spear: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
In a fury, the dwarven druid stands and in a single motion drives his spear hard into the undead creature. The look on his normally placid face would rival any raging barbarian's in it's fury and hatred.

![]() |

Regular spears don't have reach. But Theodic could have 5' stepped back from the creature after missing it, giving Gregor the opportunity to step up and hit with his spear, so lets assume that happened.
With a sickening sound, Gregor's spear sinks into the chest of the bloated and drowned slave. It starts to walk its way up the dwarves weapon, reaching out with its claws towards his heart. But then, with just inches left, the power of the foul deeds that animated the body can no longer hold it together and it slumps down, sliding off the spear and into the water.
There is still a fire burning. Zolaffer doffs his jacket and tries to extinguish it. While he can stop it growing fast, putting it out seems to be a difficult proposition.
In the room beyond the team spots an old chest, swollen with water but still seemingly intact.

![]() |

Sorry, I couldn't see the map at the time.
Chest heaving with fury, Gregor kicked the corpse from his spear and spit on it. Then, he dropped back to his knees beside the bear and began trying to revive his friend. Pleading eyes looked up at Ledt, and though Gregor said nothing, his question was clear.

![]() |

Ledt, help Gregor there with the Iron Claw. Theodic, help Zolaffer with the fire, I'll take the chest, maybe the tablets are there.
Peter goes to the chest and checks if it contains any hidden traps and if it is locked.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

![]() |

Ledt nods satisfied at Peter's plan, he looks for his wand and lends it to Gregor "Some medecine" and smiles.
Once free he looks at the fire "Let me try this" he aims with his hand and tries to put off the fire with his ray of frost spell.

![]() |

"Thank you, Ledt" said Gregor gravely as he took the wand. it took a few castings, but eventually the bear was upright and healthy once more. As he handed the wand back to the gnome he said, "I owe you. I owe you a lot." It was only then that he took in the fire and the hubbub around the chest.
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

With Iron claw restored and the heat taken from the flames, the team can put its efforts into finding the tablets.
The most obvious place is the swollen chest in the back room. Peter looks at it carefully but can't see any signs of traps, just age and neglect.

![]() |

If is unlocked, Peter will just open the chest.
Otherwise, he will breaks the lock to open it.
If have to break the lock: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 142d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 + 3 = 13

![]() |

"Take care with that, it doesn't seem to be in good condition and we don't want to break them" the halfling advices and knowing Peter strong hands tries to assist into checking the tablets without breaking them.

![]() |

Within the rotted velvet there are four tablets. Each is made of a different material and upon each are etched ancient runes.
This would appear to be what you have been looking for.

![]() |

"I have an extra blanket we can use for padding, to get those back safely. As long as we don't have to go swimming again, they should make it back okay."

![]() |

Ledt nods in agreement "Let's take this back to our superiors. I am glad this ended well. I was scared to the bones when we fell to the water"
The halfling helps the party go back to the boats and then undo the trip towards the first house "I am curious to know what happened with the girl's disguise in the end"

![]() |

Peter winks to his fellows - we got it, buddies.
He gives the tablets to Gregor to put them safe in his blanket.
"I am curious to know what happened with the girl's disguise in the end"
I don't care about her. For me, she can burn in hell, and he starts to laugh loud.

![]() |

With the Fang's final cargo disposed of, the team manages to make it back to the docks with the tablets intact. Carefully avoiding the battered guards they make their way back to the society contacts to hand over the precious records of ancient Azlanti.
Those that stick around more than a couple of days note the arrival of a new body hanging over the harbour. A grim reminder of the fate of even Chelix noblemen who cross the small towns authorities.

I'm slowly working through season 0, but with GD4 starting in less than a week, I'm going to let that settle in a little before continuing. I'm also on holiday for the first week of the pbp gameday so that is going to prove an interesting challenge.
