Reverend Gabriel Helminth

"I would not dream of it. You put it so eloquently yourself, Iron Man..."
He then hops up on one of the benches, and prepares to unleash another flurry of snow and ice...
Flurry of Snowballs: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 5) = 19 Cold damage, DC 21 Reflex save for half.
...which cascades across the room, just barely missing Iron Man.
Who by my calculation is 35' away ;-)
Ash - Eric de Vries

Ash moves after Berith as he sees him withdraw after getting attacked by all 3 of the skeletons (walking through Hawk just to experience how it feels to do that) while producing a wand in his hand with a flick of his wrist (swift action using spring loaded wrist sheath) which he then uses to tap Berith with when he gets close enough to touch him.
Cure light wounds for Berith: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Tarquin throws a bomb. The skeleton dodges and the bomb flies past.
1d8 ⇒ 5
reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
The wave of cold washes over the skeletons, sending two crashing to the floor. However as they do so, their auras burst, damaging Berith.
explosion DC 11 for half: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
The Reverend then unleashes a second flurry of snowballs demolishing the last skeleton, who also explodes around Berith.
1d6 ⇒ 3
Combat over, okay, it is quite a bit easier at higher tier. Try doing this with level one, when there are actually more skeltons. Ouch.
For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to assume any other spells/abilities listed above that happened after those two cold attacks did not get used. If you want to use them, then put in another post.
All is quiet once again.

Alright instead - once the Skeletons go down Hawk will end his form and also his link momentarily with Iron Man assessing the full state of injuries received. Hawk then channels to heal the party and the NPCs if they remain injured.
Just a moment Berith.
Channel to heal: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8
Then reforms his link with Iron Man.
Everyone all right?
Total resources used so far, Channels 2 of 5, Energy body 1 of 4, First level spells 3 of 7, Second level spells 0 of 4.

Well, I guess I didn't need to use my repulsors anyway. Its like I always say 'It's not a glitch its a Feature'.

The pathfinders enter the room and start to search.
Each of the skeletons has a strange gauntlet on its right hand. Apart from that the strange table in the middle attracts the most attention.
The table is a truncated cone, 4 feet high, topped with a flat,
dark glass plate. Its controls include a long, wide brass
panel set with dozens of small wheels with letters upon
their rims—these “read-outs” for the controls currently
spell nothing but gibberish. In addition, a glowing
crystal next to a lever blinks with amber light.
There are three other doors out of the room, one in the pillar to the north, and one in each wall.
Iron Man
|
Iron Man collects one of the gauntlets for further study and then moves about the room examining the different panels. While Rev. studies the door Iron Man focuses on the Amber crystal and the lever next to it. Almost as if in a trance he slowly reaches up, grabs the lever and.....

There are no traps on the door. Beyond it is a room.
Rows of metal shelving fill this room. The shelves bear
the look of long disuse but are surprisingly dust-free,
considering the age of this place. Most of the shelves hold
assorted pieces of machinery: wires, gears, and cases of
bolts and screws, though nothing seems organized in any
logical fashion.
Meanwhile, back in the main room...
The whole room (as does the structure as a whole) radiates a loose background magic of no particular school.
Melerens morning star is magical (sorry, I may have forgotten to mention that before).
As Ironman reaches for the lever as horrible grating of gears sounds and the door into the room vanishes, replaced by a smooth metal surface.
On the table a brass panel whirs to life, its letter
wheels spinning and quickly producing a message.
'Carousel must be realigned to access exits from security sublevel
manual realighment systesm: offline
holographic controls: functional
holgraphic interface apparatus not detected in vicinity

did all that happen before I touched the Lever?
Only the one door disappeared?
GM Aerondor

It may have been a moment or two after the lever was touched. And yes, only the door you came through vanished.
And now, everone was out of the entrance room when it happened, although some of you are in the main room, and some in the western side room at the moment.

"Hmmm thats interesting. See if you can get a scematic of the area so we know which room is which."

Even as Tarlquin speaks, Ironman presses some buttons and
a three-dimensional holographic representation of the
level, including a rotating ring of rooms appears.
(I've updated the map for you to show that)
Iron Man

You mean like this? Iron Man says smugly. He then continues to 'follow his instincts' and press buttons, switch levers, and spin dials. There should be a record of this place stored with in the machine somewhere.
Iron Man

Iron Man responds to Rev. without looking up from the control panel. The intricacies of science are rarely appreciated by the simple minded. Go sniff around like a good dog while I finish mastering these controls. He 'brushes' him away with a wave of his hand.
Hawk, do me a favor and keep an eye on Rev. Make sure he doesn't make a mess in there. Oh and Rev. if there is something in there that you don't understand, don't burn it at the stake, bring it out to me so I can figure it out for you.
He then looks around for a second, Shechera, would you come help me out? I could use a pair of skilled hands.
Iron Man

And all I see is a lap dog so scarred of the world that he hides behind the mask of false god. You might as well be wearing a collar and leash.
He might have a higher Int but Iron Man is still the best at what he does and he always looks good doing it ;o

Iron Man give the Rev. a patronizing smile. I'll just let you think on that comment for a bit. I think you realize just how absurd it was.
All,
Don't let us steal all the RP! Feel free to step in and give us bickering kids a time out.

Now now children :)
That map looks handy. Lets check out this western room then. It doesn't seem to have any connecting rooms. As odd and as dangerous as this place is, it is also quite fascinating.
Tarquin-RK
|
"If you could stop your useless bickering. We need to get to the monitor room. Apparently the controls are there. Someone is using the atmospheric systems. If they change that neither your gods or suit of armor will help you." Tarquin says with an annoyed tone in his voice.

Gabriel discovers a number of unusual items in the western room.
There is a box with various numbered buttons on it. On the underside is painted a series of numbers (9, 2, 7, 4, 6) and some writing
What languages does Gabriel speak?
He also finds a pair of cards made of of some odd substance, with a odd stylised gold spider on them. They are about the size of the palm of your hand, and almost as thin as paper. There is a strange sphere with some buttons, and also wandlike device contains a reservoir at one end and a small pad at the other.
Feel free to make knowledge(engineering) checks against each of these devices - the cards, the wand and the sphere
Shechera and Meleren both come over to help Ironman. At a quick glance, it appears that Meleren feels much more at home here than Shechera does.
Actually Ironman can make an knoweldge(engineering) check as well for the gauntlet
Ash - Eric de Vries

As people with actual knowledge try to figure out what things do Ash will offer general "helpful" suggestions; What do you think that is for? What does that do? What happens when you try this?

Ironman recognises that the gauntlets can deliver a small electrical charge when they contact someone. Probably non lethal, but it may hurt a bit. He guesses its primary purpose is to open something or other, rather than as a combat device.
Gabriel doesn't recognise the lanauge, so casts comprehend languages. The words say:
“The commander will kill the next guard he catches
using a note to remember the lift code. Just use this when
needed.”
As for the devices, Gabriel recalls an interesting discussion he had with some members of the clockwork cathedral.
The small cards are called e-picks, and work like lockpicks on electric locks (strange magic that)
The sphere is a linear gravity decelerator. It makes things lighter (think a high tech rope of climbing)
The wand is a 'medilance' you fill the chamber with a liquid (for example a potion of healing) and you can administer it by pushing the pad against someone. Has a self cleaning funciton.
All the devices are charged, but will eventually run out of power.

The door does not appear trapped, and the button opens the door without issue.
Two shiny metal tables or beds stand across from one another
in the center of this oval room, with metal restraints positioned
at the head, foot, and middle of each table. Metal racks
along the north and south walls hold assorted sharp-looking
implements. A rounded hutch protrudes from the eastern wall.
Looking at the 'hutch' in more detail, there is a five fingered handprint in it.
Iron Man

Iron Man lets the other explore the other room while he continues to study the console, trying to figure out how to reactivate the 'manual realignment system'. He is not afraid to try and open up the console if he finds an access panel. As he works he continues to chat up Shechera.
So Shechera, whats your story? How did you end up falling it with the Raiders?
Knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
If he doesn't find anything he instead works on opening the door to the circular chamber in the console room.
Knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
GM Aerondor
|
The hutch opens at a stouch of the gauntlet.
Inside the hutch is a stash of three glowing blue vials.
A quick check with detect magic shows they are magical.
As for Shechera. "I had a bit of bad luck in Diobel. A change of scene seemed in order. I met up with the Raiders and they accepted me as one of their own. And so I have been since."
Ironman can make a diplomacy check if he feels like it. [+2 if you are silver crusade]

"Here allow me." Tarquin says as he studies the vials.
take 10 on each for 28. Yay I'm usefull.

Ash makes some small talk with Shechera and Meleren
"Did you like Diobel, I mean..before you got into trouble? How do you think we are at exploring? Do you have any suggestions on how we could do things better? Do you want to explore yourself? Feel free to look around if you want. Do you want a cookiee? Are you hungry? Do you like us? Would you like us more if we gave you a cookie?"
Ash rambles off his usual amount of questions while he keeps a look out for suddenly opening doors and emerging golems
