Welcome! This is the discussion thread for my evergreen PFS scenario, #7-10: The Consortium Compact (Table A). Recruitment for this game is closed. Currently confirmed players are Escharid, GM Evil, Valjoen_KC, Michael Hallet, Faelyn, and Paladin of Baha-who?.
Please post here by Friday at 2:00pm to check in and let everyone know which character you plan to play. Perhaps take this time to discuss your experience with play-by-post games, or this scenario in particular (without spoiling it). Also, make sure your stats are fully loaded into your alias profile as soon as possible. I hope to start gameplay when everyone is ready, and by Monday at the latest.
Once you have determined which character you'll use, post here or PM me with the following information:
Player Name:
PFS & Character Number:
PC Name:
Class and level:
Current XP:
Current PP:
Current Fame:
Day Job Skill and Roll: (if any)
Pre-Scenario Purchases: (list items and gp/PP spent)
Finally, please take a look at my "Mike the GM" alias profile for some tips and guidelines, especially if you are new to play-by-post games.
Again, welcome aboard, and may all your hits be crits!

Hey guys! I have a variety of characters available. I would prefer to run a brand new character, a sylph arcanist. However, if we start Monday, then it may have 1xp already applied (which for a caster is a very good thing). I also have a lvl 2 dwarven barbarian, a fresh lvl 1 tiefling gunslinger (who's going the grenadier alchemist path), a lvl 1 half orc sorcerer, a lvl 2 hunter and his tiger, and a lvl 1 vigilante (who would have to be updated to the non-play test version).
Like I said, I would prefer to play the sylph, but if it fits the party better, I can run any of the above.

This is the only eligible PC I currently have.
Player Name: Michael Hallet
PFS & Character Number: 2608-12
PC Name: Aurora Rose
Class and level: Unchained Summoner 1 (Naturalist archetype)
Current XP: 0
Current PP: 0
Current Fame: 0
Day Job Skill and Roll: Perform (dance) 20 (Take 10)
Pre-Scenario Purchases: None
Playing PBP since about 2008, PFS PBP for about 2 years.
I have played this scenario twice and run it twice.

Faelyn |

Hey all, very excited to be a part of this group! I was planning on bringing my halfling Telekineticist for the ride. He is part blaster and part skill monkey with decent Disable Device, Perception, Sleight of Hand, and Stealth skills. His primary attack is 1d6+5 damage, but I don't yet have Precise Shot so I will be focusing on attacking things outside of melee. If we need a different role covered I also have a 1st level Lore Warden that I can bring, but would need to do just a little tweaking on him before he's ready.

![]() |

If I bring my arcanist, then his main thing is firing toppling magic missiles and using potent magic exploits to buff his damage spells.

Arcanist
Summoner
Telekeneticist
Fighter
Fighter
and whatever Karu is.
Seems like a decent party.
Healing might be a bit light. Aurora could use a wand if she had one, but she doesn't have any prestige yet to get one of her own.

I will bring along my Telekineticist!

I'm debating swapping out Point-Blank Shot for Weapon Finesse and Extended Range for Kinetic Blade and try it out this time...

I'm away from my rulebooks atm, and I'm drawing a blank on the rules for learning spells from scrolls during pfs downtime. Is there a limit to how many you can attempt to learn in between scenarios, and in which scenario do you make the rolls, in the beginning of the next one after you buy them?

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

If you discover the scroll during an adventure, and don't use it, you can learn the spells from it during your downtime at the end of the scenario. Otherwise, you don't need to buy scrolls to learn spells, you can just pay the spellbook access fee as described in the magic chapter of the CRB (half the scribing cost) and copy spells from spellbooks of other wizards in the Society during your downtime.
You can learn any number, and there isn't any reason you should have to make rolls unless you're trying to learn a spell way above your ability to cast. You have a +8 to spellcraft, I see, so you can copy up to 3rd level spells into your spellbook by taking 10.
It seems like this team doesn't have anyone capable of healing so I'll bring this lady instead. She's level 2, and so qualifies for the evergreen still.

Mike the GM |

Looks like everyone has their PC profile ready to go, so I'll get the gameplay thread started ASAP. Thanks everyone!

![]() |

Ok. I remember that now, thanks Nyroba!
That saves me at least 360 gp, and maybe more as I won't need some of the scrolls I previously had purchased. I'm in the process of loading up a moving truck for most of today, so I won't be able to post/update until later tonight.

Mike the GM |

Sounds good!
Remember, you can only get credit for a level 2 character once for this scenario, even though it is an evergreen. If you have already applied a chronicle sheet from this scenario to a level 2 character, let me know. You will not receive a chronicle for this play through. If that means you would rather play a level 1 character, you are free to change before we get started. (You can get credit for the scenario with level 1 characters as many times as you want.)

Player Name: Andrew Glasgow
PFS & Character Number: 42641-9
PC Name: Nyroba Samradagar
Class and level: Paladin (divine hunter) 2
Current XP: 4
Current PP: 0
Current Fame: 6
Day Job Skill and Roll: Survival (Hunting lodge vanity), taking 10: 10 + 3 = 13
Pre-Scenario Purchases: A bunch. This is my first time playing her at level 2 (I just finished a module) so I'm doing the full rebuild thing.
Hunting Lodge vanity: 2 PP
Masterwork agile breastplate
20 cold iron arrows
20 cold iron blunt arrows
longspear
spiked gauntlet
masterwork backpack
paladin's kit, minus torches
oil of magic weapon x3
potion of bull's strength
potion of cat's grace
wand of burning hands (CL 3rd, 4 charges) - on chronicle
wand of mage armor (10 charges) - on chronicle
wand of magic missile (10 charges) - on Chronicle
You don't need to put those all on the chronicle sheet for me, there probably isn't even room.

Today is a busy day. I have a deadline and a job interview and a full day of work at my day job. I'll post an update tomorrow!

Mike the GM |

Thank you for your patience. It was the last day of school today. (I teach high school.) My brain is going to take a break from braining until tomorrow morning.

Mike the GM |

The weekend was busier than expected (writing deadline, family things) but I am now officially on summer break! Daily posting to commence.

I'm going to be fairly scarce again this week. My wife's father's health has taken a turn for the worse. He has been battling cancer for 2 years. Last week we were informed that it has metastasized into his stomach. He has been moved to hospice care. The whole family is congregating in Florida (we live in Kansas City) where her dad lives. I'll try to post when I can.
I will be home next Sunday and should be back to a regular posting schedule.

![]() |

I just moved to Florida for family issues as well, though my move is more permanent. You have my condolences.

Mike the GM |

My condolences to you and your family. There will still be a place for you when you're able to return.

![]() |

I planned on taking 10 on Perform (dance) for my Day Job check at the end of the adventure, so if you want, we can just work that into the narrative.

![]() |

My computer has developed major issues and I will need to try to get my backup laptop working. Please bot me if needed.

Hey guys. I just four out of the hospital where I've spent the majority of my absence. I had a bad turn with my diabetes that pretty much took me out. I've been in ICU basically unconscious for a long time. Hopefully I'm allowed to catch up and rejoin?

![]() |

I'm currently on a trip to mexico and, unfortunately, the internet at our condo is down. I've found a hotspot in town but won't be able to post reliably until I'm back home on Wednesday. Please bot me as necessary.

Mike the GM |

Your continued patience is appreciated. Would you believe I've had to move out and back in to my classroom three times this year due to having rocks thrown through my windows and having all my materials covered in glass? Not fun, and a humongous waste of time.
