Sardon
|
Sardon follows the monk, turning to do a quick head count and counting on his fingers. He holds up both hands and grins.
"That's right, ten and I make eleven."
Aid Wilhelm's bluff: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17
Ennoia

Please, good sirs, we are only seeking go about our business unharmed. I humbly ask you to let us pay our dues and pass.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

"Evil! If they're dead, problem solved ..."
Waiting to see if Ennoia is not successful in appeasing the three ...
..."Crew and us equals 11. Below? Wanna come see?" With that Ahn hops up and saunters to the passage down. If she's successful Ahn will stay quiet
Baobob
|
How are these men currently located in relation to the boat (grouping/facing/etc)?
Being careful to not make any threatening motions, Baobob settles behind the mast, out of sight of the enforcers. With a small gesture and a soft word Baobob attempts to discern anything special among or about the belligerent enforcers.

I've got no time to play , its busy here at the docks. 10 gp the gruff guard commands.
Captain Passad easily hands over the bag of coins to the dock officer. Well, don't we have some rich merchants in our seas now. But I want the payment in silver and copper! The dock officer throws the bag of coins back on the deck, its contents spilling onto the wood. Now lower the gangplank, me and my boys are comm'n on board.
Each person has a bottle that radiates a slight magic from their hilt. Three of the men are to your left on the dock, another to your right, a few feet of water separating your boat from him.
Baobob
|
How many feet is "a few"?
Baobob moves quietly to drop the gangplank for the dock officer, but stumbles over a coil of rope and knocks the gangplank into the water.
Whoops...I don't suppose we could borrow your gangplank? he asks the dock officer.
Wilhelm Scream
|
As Baobob 'accidentally' knocks the gangplank overboard, Wilhelm just looks up at the dock officer and spreads his hands out. "Oh man, that's terrible. Perhaps you can jump?"
Baobob
|
Looking apologetic, Baobob reaches up and swings a bark covered rope across the gap. Here, you can swing across on this.
If they attempt to swing across on Phil, here's a few climb checks to avoid being pulled out of the rigging:
Climb Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Climb Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Climb Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Climb Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
He'll let the last guy across drop into the water (let me know if I need to make a check for that).
Ennoia
|
Ennoia studies the scene carefully, ready to act the moment things get hairy. She has her hand on her bow, eyes fixed on the group of three men.
DrGabe
|
Once the gangplank hits the water, one of the startled enforcers holding a crossbow unleashes a bolt which strikes the rigging and bouncing off of metal clips. The noise echos across the dock and the rest of the enforcers begin the attack.
Initiative time- I had some computer issues last night and hopefully will be resolved. I'll get a combat map up tonight. For those interested, its Pathfinder Map Pack: Waterfront.

Ennoia draws her bow and shoots one of the thugs.
Shooting the one just above the wolf. 30 ft away, so point blank shot is up.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Wilhelm Scream
|
Wilhelm quickly judges the situation. With a slight leap, he quickly makes his way around the boxes and to the boats edge, lunging himself over the rail and across to the dock between the wolf and one of the dock thugs.
Acrobatics Long Jump vs. DC 10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
As he lands, Wilhelm imediately bends slightly at the knees and extends his left arm, making a slight cupping shape with his left hand. (Swift Action to enter Snapping Turtle Style - +1 Shield bonus to AC)
He then lashes out with his right fist at the thug.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
AC is 17

Ahn also makes a running leap off the port side of the ship ... this round he is hitting the edge of the ship with his leap happening next round ...

Ennoia's bow pierces the thug in the stomach. He stays on his feet, but blood pours everywhere on the dock. Baobob tries the same course, but the arrow sails wide of the mark and sinks into the water on the other side of the dock. Wilhelm is able to leap on the dock, but his punch is easily deflected from the thug.
The thug next to Wilhelm draws his sword and tries to slash at Wilhelm with the short sword 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Wilhelm is able to dodge the clumsy short thrust.
One thug fires on Omar Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
While the other fires on Sardon Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
But both bolts hit their targets, sending blood pooling from multiple directions!
Initiative order: Ennoia, Wilheim, Baobob, Thugs, Omar, Sardon , Ahna, Wolf

Ahn also makes a running leap off the port side of the ship ... this round he is hitting the edge of the ship with his leap happening next round
I believe you could've taken your 5ft-step and double-moved to jump across, just fyi. :X
Slightly dismayed at the first shot, Baobob flinches as blood splashes towards him. Wheeling about, he moves to the edge of the boat and fires upon the thug across the water.
Attack!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d8 ⇒ 6
Ahnastasios Silvertongue
|
As Ahn strides onto the railing and begins his leap he realizes there's almost no way he'll clear the gap, "well ... if I drown here, it's really what I deserve ...", he thinks as he launches into the air ...
Acrobatics DC 10: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (3) - 5 = -2
Plunging into the water Ahn attempts to swim underwater until the dock is above him. At this time he attempts to surface where thugs cannot see him ...
swim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Or something worse happens because of that really nice acrobatics roll
Baobob

Well you hit water and it should be less then ten feet for a river barge to the water so no fall damage in this case, I was just quoting the rules from SRD on failing jumps from running starts. Amusingly, you do get the distance you rolled on the dice in feet, so by that rule you should go backwards, pro-pulsed by the power of your own suckage :P I believe the "belly flop" clause overrides that though.
Ennoia
|
Already taking my action for next round to avoid slowing down the game, since I'll be away this weekend. I should still be able to post once a day.
Ennoia draws another arrow, set on finishing the job on the thug she has wounded. She makes one step forward in her target's direction.
Five-foot step, then attack.
Attack (Point-blank shot, precise shot): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 171d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Omar draws his bow and sinks two arrows into the dock worker. The second arrow results in the man dropping to the ground. Fresh blood and the stink of bowel start to fill the air.
Sardon attempts to leap off of the boat and to the dock. However, his foot gets caught up in the ropes on the decks. Falling into the shallow water below the fighter still struggles to steady himself!
The wolf moves around to bite Wilheilm Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 for damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and tries to trip the warrior vs CMD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 but fails to trip the fighter.
Initiative order: Ennoia, Wilheim, Baobob, Thugs, Omar, Sardon , Ahna, Wolf
Baobob fires again at the enforcer across the water, but misses.
Ennoia's second shot drops the enforcer, more blood entering the water.
Updated Initiative order: Ennoia, Wilheim, Baobob, Thugs, Omar, Sardon , Ahna, Wolf
Actions not listed in the post above didn't happen since you are out of turn.
Wilheim I wasn't flanking with the wolf, I assumed you moved to the other side of the fighter. Didn't make a difference in this battle.
Omar on your turn, you need a swim check DC10 or start to sink.
Wilhelm Scream
|
Wilhelm feels a bit of pity for this creature. Though it still poses a threat, Wilhelm does his best to subdue the animal non-lethally.
Unarmed Strike Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Non-Lethal Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
"An animal should not be punished for having a poor master."

I think Ahna also fell, but I wouldn't bet on it. I wouldn't bet on much at this point, really.
swim: 1d20 ⇒ 7
climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Sardon thrashes in the water, amusing all the sadists in the harbor.

Whilhelm looks into the eyes of the wolf and sees nothing but anger and fear. Its is clear from the scars on its face that the beast has been beaten for much of its life. It doesn't look like it will ever back down from this fight.
The last standing enforcer fires his crossbow before starting to retreat down the dock away from the Pathfinders! Attack Omar: 20 + 4 = 24
Sardon struggles in the water and starts to sink!
Omar's arrows trail the fleeing thug. One of the arrows finds him in the thigh, spurting blood everywhere. The man stays on his feet and continues to limp away.
Updated Initiative order: Ennoia, Wilheim, Baobob, Thugs, Omar, Sardon , Ahna, Wolf
A note on actions: please see the discussion thread.
Yes I did mean Sardon with the swim check

Ahna tries to jump the gap and ends up falling into the water, struggling just like Sardon her heavy armor dragging under water.
The wolf, not knowing any better continues to bite at Wilhelm Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11, this time the monk is easily able to dodge the creatures bite.
Baobob fires another arrow, sailing around cluttered boxes and debris, it somehow finds the fleeing thug. The arrow sticks into his back and he drops the ground, soaking the wood around him with blood.
Captain Pasad, frozen in fear just a few moments ago shouts Quick, we must cast off! We are somewhat secluded here, but they will find us if we tarry too long!
Initiative order: Baobob Ennoia, Wilheim, Omar, Sardon , Ahna,, Wolf
