Foolish barbarians... Calm down before WE are the ones getting into trouble. I'll be the vanguard.
Lee silently casts Detect thoughts, projecting his detection cone through the eastern door, and the southern curtain (DC16 will save negates), maintaining his concentration. He then motions the others when he's sure there is no danger in a room.

![]() |

"Kitchen." Suejo whispers. Probably not that way.
Surreptitiously he peaks out the southern curtain.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Cyrus moves south next to Suejo and keeps one eye on the door to the east and one on the southern curtain.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Suejo I moved you hope you do not mind.

GM Crash |

Peeking through the curtain Suejo sees waiters rushing back and forth with dishes, both full of food and empty. They go from the kitchen to set of curtains to the south. There are doors on both ends of the hall; the west leads back to the front room (as you can see in the map.)and then there is a door to the east. There are some times when there is no one there. Suejo is able to time these breaks between the waiters. Which way would you like to go?

![]() |

The eastern door looks most promising to me.
In a whisper. "It looks like we may be able to move through here undetected if we time our movements appropriately. What do you say friends, do we make for the doors at the end of the hall to the east?

![]() |

[smaller]"Sound goods. Tell us when to go" Cyrus sheaths his sword.
Stealth: 1d20 - 11 ⇒ (17) - 11 = 6

![]() |

The mounted halfling follows along and whispers, "Just remember, we need to make our way to Zarta’s chambers — they’re in the southwest corner of the residential wing — where ever that is! We must find a path that doesn’t converge with the gala’s guests or other inhabitants of the consulate."
Caelin Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Caelin Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Beau Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

![]() |

Jan marches over to the door they all went through, waiting by it in case they call for assistance.

![]() |

Cyrus follows Suejo as quickly and quietly as he can to the eastern door at the end of the hall.
Stealth: 1d20 - 11 ⇒ (15) - 11 = 4
When he gets to the eastern door he will listen at it.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

GM Crash |

There is no sound through the door so the party continues through hurrying so they don't get seen by any of the wait staff.
Two minutes elapsed. 58 minutes remaining.
In the new hallway, there are two doors. Listening at the north door reveals that it is another door to the kitchen. When you listen at the south door you hear nothing. Opening the door you see gardens. These gardens shine in the moonlight, but dark shadows hug the lower reaches of the bushes, topiary, and trees. Two marble staircases wrap around a balcony where revelers are silhouetted against the light shining from the ballroom’s stained-glass windows. A tall wrought-iron fence divides the
garden from the city beyond and below. Small servant’s doors enter the garden from the north (which you just went through) and the south.

![]() |

"My vote would be to continue straight south, if we are taking votes that is."

![]() |

"Agree." comes Taichos simple response to Beau's suggestion.

![]() |

Stick to the shadows, so not to be seen. Eyes peeled, nose to the wind, ears sharp and keen.
Caelin perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Caelin Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Beau Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

![]() |

Cyrus moves to the door and peeks into the garden. If he sees not threats then he will move quietly to the south door in the garden.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Stealth: 1d20 - 11 ⇒ (1) - 11 = -10
About as stealthy as a bull in a china shop with a siren on it.

![]() |

Suejo follows his companions to the south.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
At Cyrus's clattering performance he pauses to see if he has attracted attention.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

![]() |

Stealth: 1d20 - 11 ⇒ (20) - 11 = 9
Yeah a Nat 20!! That was only way I was going to make it. LOL Quiet like a kitten.

GM Crash |

No, other than the revelers silhouettes and some of the hushed tones from earlier there is nothing new.
Taicho Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Almost surprising his own teammates, Taicho makes it over to the door as well.
Elapsed time 5 minutes. 55 minutes remaining. 5 strikes remaining.
Listening at the door, you hear a lot of noise. Peaking in through a crack in the door you see what likely used to be a side chapel is now in use as a staging area for the gala. Magnificent stained-glass windows and vaulted ceilings look down on the racks of platters, dishes, wine bottles, and glasses stacked neatly on long wooden tables. The double doors are constantly being opened by servants and the room is a hive of activity. The doors that are not being used by the servants are the two sets of single doors. The door you are at and the door in the corner.
A Sleight of Hand DC 15 will allow one person to get some items off of one of the racks for the rest of the group. This will give each of you a +2 circumstance bonus on Disguise checks against guests and on Diplomacy checks against servants, but take a –2 penalty on Stealth checks.

"We do have, of course, the two scrolls of disguise self and two elixirs of hiding we received from Ambrus' assistant... if you imagine that those would come in some sort of use right about now..." the caviler says matter-of-factly.

![]() |

"If it comes to disguise, I posses an extract that will allow me to disguise myself, so I should have no need of the scrolls or elixirs. We have a number among us who are not able to use such items I think, so we may need to rely on a ruse to get us through."
I'm not sure who among us could even use the scrolls, can Captain Lee?
"What if I and another disguise ourselves as staff and then usher the rest through the room beyond, claiming we are taking our guests on a circuitous route to avoid a diplomatic incident with a rival embassy?

![]() |

Cyrus nods as both Suejo and Captain Lee talk of their plans. Whispering to the group "Both sound good to me and much better then sneaking around which as you can hear I am very bad at."

![]() |

"Bad disguise. Better hide or sneak."

![]() |

Suejo nods. "Perhaps you be the noble, I will be the embassy functionary escorting you, the rest shall be your retinue. We need to go through this room to avoid diplomatic incident with an angry Osirian ambassador. It would lower you to be seen in an argument with him or appear to be avoiding him. The staff we encounter will be instructed that they must not mention the incident."

![]() |

"And what of Caelin and I? Are we part of the ruse or shall we sneak with my avian friend here?". Beau offers not quite sure how they will sneak in plain sight...

![]() |

I don't remember if anyone asked or was expecting Jan to follow along as he'd be a bit of a dead-weight in the sneaking department and as he said, his weapon isn't silent.

![]() |

Are you not a guard in the Qadiran ambassador's army? Behave yourself!
"This I can do, Me' Lord!" the halfling muses, putting on his sternist face.

![]() |

Cyrus tries to smooth the wrinkles from his clothes a little and stands up straight. "Ready when you are My Lord" ...hope this works or we are going to jail or worse...

![]() |

Jan remains silent as he watches the group and keeps an eye on his rifle. Ready to use it at the first sign of conflict.

GM Crash |

I need Disguise or Stealth checks from everyone that is going to go through the building. Just in case you don't know, the elixirs of hiding grant a +10 competence bonus to Stealth for 1 hour and the scrolls of disguise self grant a +10 to Disguise for 10 min but everyone that interacts with you are granted a Will Save DC 10 to recognize that you are an illusion.
You can always have someone check the single door that no one is using and see what is through there.

Disguise: 1d20 - 1 + 5 ⇒ (15) - 1 + 5 = 19

![]() |

Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 +10 if used of elixir is agreed upon

The Halfling urges his mount over to the single door and he listens intently to see if they have other options...

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
..oops
Jan stubs his toe.
"F@~+!"

"I'm not positive, but this may be safer than the masquerade..." the halfling whispers with a nod of his head to the empty hallway.

"Very well let's explore." Sorry the way it looked to me I thought we'd have to cross through a busy area. Also been traveling for about 25 hours so posting is a little slow
