Well taking it might be easier than we were thinking, this fine r5 unit informs me that the dock controls are at the spaceport control center and that a side door is available. Perhaps we go in that way ?
Valkyr
We should move to the spaceport control center immediately, we've already spent too much time in the open
Valkyr looks around cautiously, then turns to 5
Please ask your new friend to show us this 'side door'...
Old Guy GM
The R5 leads you through the Mos Shuuta streets, the hot suns beating down even late in the afternoon. You move cautiously, as Teemo's goons are still out and about looking for you. As a result, it takes some time to get across the mesa.
The spaceport control building is a low, squat pourstone building clinging to the edge of the Mos Shuuta bluff. The front doors guarded by a pair of guard droids, carefully scanning the crowds that pass in the streets. If you are going to release the docking clamps from the KRAYT FANG, and get off Tatooine, you need to find a way in to that building.
Valkyr
Valkyr turns to the R5 unit
Please show us the side entrance, we need to be off these streets as quickly as possible...
Lamenting the lack of a hooded cloak, she moves to follow the astromech droid as quickly as possible.
Old Guy GM
The little droid trundles off around the right side of the building. It heads down a narrow alley, littered with debris and sand. R5 stops a dozen meters into the the alley turning back to you with a series of beeps.
R5 stands before a durasteel panel, apparently a maintenance access door. The control panel is dusty and underused on the right-hand door frame.
XJ7-511
So it is! My friends and I mean to leave this place, want to take on the life of an interstellar criminal?
As '5' asks his question he approaches the panel and looks it over for a second before working on it in an attempt to open the door. Thinking on the matter for a second the droid attempts to simply punch the button to open the door...
XJ7-511
I just had this feeling like I should check, ya know? :-)
Satisfied that his efforts would not be in vain, '5' attempts to work the lock pad,
Computers!: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 5) = 132d12 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 3 Adv, 1 Adv 2 Succ
Old Guy GM
The door slides open with a slight hiss, revealing a small maintenance room. Workbenches line the walls, and various equipment is stored here. Computer replacement parts, cleaning equipment, even a spare chair or two are stacked in and about the room. Another door leads out of the maintenance area, deeper into the spaceport control building.
Valkyr
Gah I somehow missed you had updated, sorry for the late post!
Valkyr holds up a hand to her companions in a 'stay there' gesture, then silently ghosts through the doorway, pressing her ear against the far door to check if she can hear anyone beyond it.
perception GY: 1d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (7) + (3) = 10

Believing there to be no-one around she waves the others in and shuts the outside door.
R5 do you have a map of this facility?
she turns to the others
Can anyone here slice if we find an access port? I'm unfamiliar with the workings of the spaceport control system, where to next?
Rae'dalla
Rae smiles at Valkyr with a sense of pride. "5 here can slice well as anyone I've met."
Crouching down to the R5 unit's level, Rae runs a hand across the top of him in a caressing manner. "Thank you for the help, little friend. '5''s offer still stands. We could take you away from here if you want."
Old Guy GM
"Understood Mos Shuuta control, we are inbound."
R5 'shakes' his head with a rueful whistle at Valkyr's question. To '5' he beeps a reply:
Valkyr
We might want to either speed up what we're doing or else hold fire for a minute, sounds like there's an Imperial shuttle docking just now, Echo 5920 in docking bay Beta. Also, the person in charge of the docking authority is Overseer Brynn.
Valkyr checks her weapon in a well-practiced process, hoping she won't have to go up against Imperial Stormtroopers but getting prepared just in case.
XJ7-511
He wishes to accompany us...as to the access ports I do have the ability to work on such a thing and I am faster than many others...you just need to get me to there. '5' offers an affected shrug in a clear attempt to mimic humanoid behavior.
Old Guy GM
You do know from your time here that docking bay Beta is diametrically opposite (across Mos Shuuta) docking bay Aurek - where the KRAYT FANG is. Spaceport control is somewhat in between. Now is your chance...
Streetwise checks: Easy Difficulty (1P) to see what you know about Overseer Brynn. Remember you can always roll, even if you don't have ranks in it. The default stat is Cunning.
Rae'dalla
Rae smiles happily at the astrometric droid. "Glad to hear it." She replies. As she stands back up, she tries to recall anything she might have heard about Overseer Brynn.
Streetwise (GG vs 1P): 2d6 - 1d8 ⇒ (4, 1) - (6) = -1 (Success x2 vs Threat)
Valkyr
Well I'm for storming the Overseer's office and knocking her out, releasing the clamps for hangar bay Alpha where the Krayt Fang is, then running for the ship before the Imperials get here.
she leaves those words hanging in the air for a moment
let's decide quick, it won't take imperials long to get here
she looks slightly agitated.
XJ7-511
Such a plan has a certain finality to it, and I am for it if you and mr Tok believe such a plan makes sense. Rae and I tend to not engage in such activities so we are less useful in such a plan. However, if I can get to terminal in the facility I think I can get the clamps to release.
Valkyr
Valkyr points her blaster at the ground and turns to stare at Tok
I won't waste breath telling you it's the wrong thing to do, that would also be hypocritical of me. So I'll say because it's inefficient time-wise, it draws more heat than we need during our exfil, and we're not getting paid.
She pauses to let that sink in then continues
Three good reasons we should concentrate on getting out of here where we're outnumbered, on the wrong side of both the law and the underworld and with no allies to speak of. Shall we?
she indicates the door leading in to the complex then turns to 5.
If we get you to a terminal you can slice, can you force the clamps to stay open long enough for us to get there and take off? Hiding what you are doing from the overseer would be best if we can manage it, we don't want them to change the clamp settings back after all.
Old Guy GM
Suddenly the door opens and a maintenance droid walks in. Surprised to see anyone in this room, it spins on its motive tracks and hurries out of the door, buzzing and beeping loudly. The noise draws the attention of two guard droids inside the controls area. You can just see them turn to look at the commotion. One of them calls out in a metallic voice: "Unauthorized persons in the maintenance area! Execute code red!"
A second later, an alarm claxon sounds.
Roll Initiative. Use your Vigilance skill, or default if needed.
Valkyr
vigilance: 2d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (6, 2) + (11) = 19
A,S,Ax2 = 1S + 3A
Registering surprise at the hast entrance and exit of the cursed cleaning droid, Valkyr curses under her breath as she brings her blaster up, ready to fire.
Looks like things were going down the hard way.
Old Guy GM
Ok, I rolled 2G and got 0S, 2A, That means that all of the PC slots are up before the droids go. Remember that all of the PC slots are open to whomever wants/needs to go, and the order can change round to round.
You guys are up. The droids are currently at Med distance from you. Firing through the doorway adds 1B. You are all in the maintenance room as of now.
Valkyr
Hmm, Tok's action poses something of an issue as we'd have to wait to see if his con worked by waiting for the droid's turn before we do anything else as obviously being hostile would negate his try at deception :s
I'll wait and risk being shot just to see if it works!
Rae'dalla
I'm in agreement, though in this case I'm going to chime in and try to help.
Aid Deception (GG): 2d8 ⇒ (7, 7) = 14 (2 Success, 2 Advantage)
Rae's eyes dart to Tok for a split second before she picks up on what he's doing. Pleased to see that he's not immediately reaching for a weapon, her eyes flick back to the droids with a glare. "You heard him! Move, you buckets of bolts!"
Old Guy GM
That's a great roll Tok, except...
A female voice comes from inside the control room, getting louder as it shouts orders. "You two! Get the others and head to landing bay Beta and assist there! The voice is very close, approaching the door. "Now then, who switched..."
A woman dressed in an Imperial uniform turns into the door and stops. Her sentence is cut short as she looks at you standing in her maintenance room. Her eyes go wide as she speaks just one word.
"Tok."
Valkyr
Exercising a great deal of restraint not to raise her weapon, Valkyr almost quivers with suppressed desire to act even as her mind screams to eliminate the threat in front of her.
She waits for Tok's response...
Old Guy GM
This ought to be good. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" is the phrase that comes to mind. Ought be good for PPRR, I figure...
Furious woman opposed roll: 2d8 + 2d12 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 1) + (8, 7) + (2) = 21
I added 1 Bk, 'cause you are in her facility, after all. Results: 3F, 2T, for a grand opposed total of 1S, 1T
Brynn looks at Tok, and her eyes narrow. She puts her hand on the blaster at her side, but doesn't draw it.
"You have a lot of nerve coming here, Tok. Don't think I don't know what's going on at Teemo's, the word went out a few minutes ago: that you might try to leave Mos Shuuta. I don't think Teemo knew you'd link up with the rest of his 'management team' though."
She slides up to get (un)comfortably close to Tok. "You've got a lot nerve," she breathes, "and you made a lot of promises that night. Tell me why I shouldn't shoot you now."
Tok Answa
"Because those promises can only be fulfilled if I'm free, darlin. Teemo's up to something. Not rebellion, but not Empire. We wanted out before it got bad. Worse. I'm not sure what he's up to, even I didn't get that close to him. But it's ugly. And you know I appreciate beauty way more."Charm: 2d8 + 2d12 ⇒ (7, 6) + (4, 9) = 26S+A, S, 2S, SA = 4 S, 2A
Old Guy GM
Discipline, upgraded because she's still angry...: 2d8 + 2d12 + 1d6 ⇒ (7, 8) + (4, 1) + (5) = 25
3F, 4T = 1S, 2T
She backs away, her eyes boring into Tok's. The corners of her mouth turn up in a slight smile.
"I don't need your promises now, Tok. I've moved on." She continues backing up. "I've found better. Better than you. It was fun while it lasted." At this last statement, she frowns, a flash of pain on a stern face. Then she slams the door. Through the door, you can her voice. "You'll get to meet him. He's just landed."
Good rolling, but she wasn't having it. Your success meant she didn't shoot you, but the Threats worked against you. Door is closed, alarms claxons still sounding, docking clamps still clamped, someone (or something) is coming for you now..I'd hurry. What do you do now?
Old Guy GM
Looking around, Rae and '5' notice there is an old maintenance terminal in this room. Unfortunately, its connections to the spaceport controls (specifically docking clamps in Docking Bay Aurek) are probably questionable at best. It might work...
You can try: the difficulty is 4P, upgraded once for the alarms, to 3P1R. Give 'er a go!
Otherwise, you're going to have to go in there...
Valkyr
Valkyr grimaces at the exchange between Tok and Brynn, was there a humanoid on the planet he hadn't tried to get friendly with!?
Exhibiting well-trained composure and patience, she waits for 5 or R5 to use the maintenance outlet, knowing she is best left watching for any further trouble.
XJ7-511
Okay. Pretty sure Bypass Securtiy and Technical Aptitude are applicable here. So -1 Setback and -25% time to completion...not that there are any setback dice this time :p
"5" chitters for a second and shuffles to the port as Tok engages the human female looking over at the R5 unit as he move the droid waxes philosophical, Inter-gender social protocol is frightfully confusing...
Engaging with the terminal "5" attempts to locate clamp control...
Computers GGYY vs PPPR: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 6) = 92d12 + 3d8 ⇒ (7, 5) + (8, 3, 5) = 281d12 ⇒ 11

Net 1 Threat
"5" continues to access the computer "hmming" and at one point offering a No, I don't see what good accessing water flow control rate would do in this circumstance. Despite his obvious skill in computers "5" continues his work but ticks his head towards Rae This system is archaic. I seem to have initiated some sort of command structure scan which is slowing the system down terribly. I will continue to work on the system but it will not be as fast as I hoped...
I know threat by themselves can do things like create delays. I see that (obv) the GM will determine the strict mechanical effect but I figured that was a good narrative beat to represent it...
Old Guy GM
Ok by me. Its not like an Imperial shuttle just landed...nope...you have all kinds of time...care to try again?
R5 lets out a series of shrill whistles in rapid-fire sequence.
