Sorry, Zash should have gone first...Let's get her action in now...

Liberty's Edge

Female Human Percept +4, Sense Motive +4, Init +4 AC 17, FF 14, T 13 \\ HP 10/11 \\ F 1 R 4(+2 v. traps) W 1

Zasha dashes forward, hoping to squeeze the native leader between herself and Crowe.

Move to F4. Better take out R1 before Crowe ethicizes himself to death.

Acrobatics to Avoid AoO from R1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Shortsword v R1, flank: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 ... damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

If I wanted to take her out, maybe I should have asked her to dinner.

Zasha Rennet wrote:

I think Crowe is building up to that...

GM:

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 1d8 ⇒ 3

Zasha tries to charge into the side of the woman, but her attempt to duck aside is anticipated by the woman who flies into a furious rage, striking out with the flail she was holding. Zash takes 9HP of damage.

The second ranger strikes out at Crowe but fails to find his mark. Meanwhile the man stood at the back takes his bow and fires a shot at Anna. The arrow goes wide of the mark though.

Anna and Alivar up

Grand Lodge

Alivar uses legacy weapon to enhance his blade, drawing the sword as he moves forward to G6.

Ana responds in kind, firing at the bowman (W2), firing the arrow already on her bow and swiftly sending another along behind.

"Leryn, defend."

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 14 Rapid Shot, Point-blank Shot
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Point-blank shot

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 21 Rapid Shot, Point-blank Shot
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Point-blank shot

Leryn moves to G7 and snarls, bristling.

Assuming Ana fires back at W2....

Ana's arrows both find their mark, and the warrior yelps in pain.

GM:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

The warrior attempts to attack Zasha with his longsword, but fails to hit the mark. The ranger, continues her attacks causing a grievous wound in Zasha's side. (10HP of damage)

by my reckoning that pouts Zash on -8 and Bleeding out....

Alahazra, then Zash and Crowe....

Liberty's Edge

Female Human Percept +4, Sense Motive +4, Init +4 AC 17, FF 14, T 13 \\ HP 10/11 \\ F 1 R 4(+2 v. traps) W 1

Zasha collapses.

-8 and bleeding out. That ranger is dynamite.

Zasha:
That "ranger" is a raging barbarian 1, with a flail and a great axe.....

"Do we have to slay you all?!!" The woman screams as Zasha drops.

Grand Lodge

On Crowe's turn...

"WOMAN, YOU GO TOO FAR!" Crowe pivots to send his hammer sweeping towards the woman leading the barbarians.

Still raging, changes target to attack R1
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 to hit, damage 2d6 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 + 3 = 20 plus 1d6 ⇒ 5 electricity damage

Liberty's Edge

Female Human Percept +4, Sense Motive +4, Init +4 AC 17, FF 14, T 13 \\ HP 10/11 \\ F 1 R 4(+2 v. traps) W 1

Crowe, you're my hero!

Crowe's blow is savage indeed. As his hammer connects with her chin, the woman's feet leave the floor. She lands in a crumpled heap, still twitching as electricity flows through her body.

She's not dead, but she's down hard. Unconscious and bleeding.

Alahazra

Grand Lodge

Female Human Oracle 1

Rushing forward to be in reach (Speed of 40), Alahazra calls upon healing fire to cauterise Zasha's wounds.

Thanks, Wintergreen. Now she's stable you can just leave her.

GM:

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 181d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

The ranger curses furiously at Crowe as she slams her flail into him again. Inflicting 13 HP of damage, which puts Crowe on zero I believe?....

Meanwhile, the archer pulls a small bag from his pocket and throws it at Lyern, spilling a sticky goo all over the wolf.

A tanglefoot bag, hits Lyern...

Anna up

Grand Lodge

current hp 3

Crowe has 15hp when he's bloodraging, so he's on 2hp. He'll be in lots of trouble once it ends, but right now he's in full possession of his faculties.

Phew!

Anna....

I shot W2 twice. Doesn't Alivar get a go?

Ana Winter wrote:

He enchanted his weapon. Those actions were last round... you are both up again.

Ana continues firing at the bowman (W2), firing the arrow already on her bow and swiftly sending another along behind. The goo-flinger gets the second arrow if the first drops W2.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 5 Rapid Shot, Point-blank Shot
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Point-blank shot

Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Point-blank shot

Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 9 Rapid Shot, Point-blank Shot
Extra Damage: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (8, 1) + 2 = 11 Point-blank shot

Leryn attempts to get free of the sticky substance.

Reflex save to avoid being stuck in place DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Grand Lodge

Can Alivar step into F5, standing over the downed foe R1? If so …

Alivar steps over the woman that Crowe had smashed down, positioning himself between Zasha and Crowe. He hacks at the woman with the flail, his sword held in a two-handed grip, trying to bring her down before the bleeding Crowe succumbs to his wounds.

sword on R2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Grand Lodge

Ooo, nice hit!

GM:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Ana's first shot goes wild, but her second slams into the Warrior and causes him to stagger. Not quite down, but close

Lyern easily avoids the goop that was thrown at him.

Alivar steps over the unconscious body of the ranger, and attacks the woman, landing a solid blow.

The warrior attacking Zasha strikes again... but trips over his own feet and fails to connect the blow.

"RAAAAAAAGH!"

Crowe attacks R2.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 to hit, damage 2d6 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 9 + 3 = 16
If that takes R2 down, he'll take a 5'step to E7 and confront W2.

It does, but not on laptop to post properly....

GM:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d8 ⇒ 5

Crowe's hit takes down the second Ranger. The man at the back, takes up his bow, and fires at Ana before taking a step back. But his increasing panic sends his shot wide.

Anna, Lyern Alivar

Bow drawn back, "Drop your weapon! Lie face down on the ground! One! Two! Three!"

If she reaches three, she's firing at the one standing. If both are still on their feet, she shoots the one she's been using for target practice first.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 4
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 2 + 1 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Let's see what Alivar does....

Grand Lodge

Alivar spins to point his sword at the warrior standing over Zasha. “Drop … your … weapon,” he says, trying to inject deliberate menace into his voice. Ready an action to attack W1 if he doesn’t comply.

The warrior facing Alivar looks at his battered friend, and drops his sword. The two of the back away down the path...

Ana keeps her bow trained on the warriors. "Some allies you are. You would rather flee than stay to aid your fallen fellows?"

No reply is forthcoming...

What do you do? You have an unconscious Zasha, and a barbarian who'd not looking too peaky once he stops raging.

Ana has little to offer from a healing perspective other than possibly an aid another roll, so she will focus on the enemies.

The hunter moves forward, keeping an eye on the retreating men. She lets the tension off of her bow, but it's a moment's thought to bring it up and fire if they should threaten again.

Heal (untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Well! Look at that!

*cough* search the bodies *cough*.....

Grand Lodge

"Let's search the bodies," suggests Alivar, after checking that Zasha is not in immediate danger of expiring.

The two Rangers each carry:

A potion of cure light wounds, a potion of remove fear, alchemist’s fire; a breastplate,a greatsword, a heavy flail, a sling with 10 bullets, and 5 gp

Montgomery Hall wrote:

Heh. I literally was going to try and roll that into my post, also, but I thought would be a little contrived, so I left it for someone else.

Grand Lodge

We'll take their stuff. And pour the CLW potion down Zasha's throat.

Na, if there's a time and a place for murder hobos, then Society play with a party member bleeding out is it!

Your companion is easily roused with a potion, and with the healing you have an the other potion, your barbarian's energy crash is also cared for.

The two you've fought aren't dead yet, but you leave them on the mountainside to their fate. You don't see the other two as you leave, and the rest of your journey back to more welcoming lands is fairly easy. If not all that comfortable.

The more one is willing to pay, the more highly trained the assassin he can hire. The guild doubles as a school for assassins in training, and even these neophytes are available for hire.

Gather Information or Knowledge Local DC 25:
Assassins sent on missions outside of the city often work in pairs so as to better protect one another.

With all of Ulisha's tasks now complete, you make your way to Daggermark. The merchant you sold the spider venom sacs to left you with the ominous news that The Vessels Between will have Ulisha "soon enough", and so it transpires that you find Ulisha where she has been hiding....

The hill ahead is not much to look at. It gently slopes away from the river. A shallow cave is near its top, smoke from a campfire curling upward in the gentle breeze. The grass wafts slowly along a gently curving path up the southern face of the hill, ending in a few switchbacks as the hill grows steep near the top.

Sat near the fire is a human female. She looks up, suprised to see anyone...

Crowe awkwardly shrugs off Alahazra's warm healing hands and trudges off with the rest from the field of battle. He looks at the fallen woman, then shrugs and walks down the hill.

Several days later...

"Um, Zasha, Crowe believes that Ulisha is a filthy half-orc. This woman in human."

No, I'm just having a bad day..... Let's retcon that with a bit of action.

The woman stands, her hand on the dagger at her belt. "'Filthy Half orc'? 'Filthy'? Savage Scum. By my mother's tusks I should gut you where you stand!"

Grand Lodge

3 people marked this as a favorite.

"Forgive me, Crowe did not realize that you were a filthy half-orc, he though you were a human woman. Crowe does not judge by a person's appearance or heritage, and is very happy to be knowing a filthy half-orc such as yourself. In Crowe's land, which is close to Belkzen where the orc hordes breed like flies, filthy half-orcs are considered an abomination. But Crowe does not hold to such traditional views. Some of his best friends are filthy half-orcs."

He turns to Zasha. "Is Crowe saying this right? Sometimes he struggles to move between the Shoanti tongue and that of the vile Chelaxian scum."

ROTFL!

Ana doesn't like leaving the foes bleeding out and attempts to give them a fighting chance by binding their wounds (awkwardly).

Nice exit, Aubrey. Too funny.

The half-Varisian woman replies, "You're doing as well as you can, Crowe. It's vile Chel scum if you want the full effect."

Zasha turns back to Ulisha. "He's a little imple-say, but he really means well."
