Welcome to the game.

Feel free to put the finishing touches on your characters and let me know when you're ready to begin.

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Hmmm, do I need any further finishing touches on Joran? He seems pretty complete to me.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

Checking in. I think I'm good, but will double check everything.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

On second thought I'm thinking of changing my Path Ability from Supreme Stealth to Defensive Move. Ok by you GM?

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Dot

Will be updating character ASAP.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Zorariel checking in

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

I think I am ready.

As I recall only Reknar needed to finish his character's mythic properties and then you should all be ready.

Any questions we need to discuss before we begin? I like to play by the rules, but sometimes I break them because I get dnd 3.5, 4. and pathfinder mixed up, feel free to correct me if that should happen.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

IS that an ok on changing my path ability?

Sorry didn't see the question and yes nothing is set in stone until we begin.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

Thanks

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

You'll have to tell me what equipment I have left once the witches/minions have their way... err, I mean, capture me.

The plan was you buy your equipment and all is returned when you break free. I think it was 10,5 k worth

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Okay, that's what I thought. I was just wondering if they had been thorough in their disarming, or if they might have left me my boots or something. Otherwise, the adventure's unfolding just as I expected it would.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Actually knowing whether I have my components is probably pretty critical

You're going to have everything you bought. It would be a bad manners to ask you to buy 10k worth of equipment only to take it away from you.

You'll have to buy the concept of them taking all your things and you being able to recover everything as the ship capsizes.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

I think he us saying that all of gear will be at out feet, when start. Everything

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Apologies for the delay in updating the character - RL messing with my gaming!! The nerve!

Will have it done today.

By the way Big OM, I have an important question for you-how is your standing on Epic DR from the Mythic path stacking with the DR from Invulnerable Rager?

Let me know. Thanks!

That is a though question.

The way I interpret the rules are:

DR from two sources never stack, you always use the highest one available.

Your DR/- is better than DR/Epic, but the path ability lets you increase your DR/Epic.

I base this on page 561-562 in the core book and the mythic playtest document.

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Ok, Mythic crunch added - 2 Guardian tiers.

Ready to go :D

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

For my sake I'm doing a list of what we have so far, if its ok (in no particular order):

Joran Benmoir - Survivalist/Scout Champion
Elantier Silverleaf - Ranger Trickster
Zorariel - Wizard Archmage
Reknar - Barbarian Guardian

So it would seem that this is all, but now that I take a second look... one question - we have no healer?

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Joran is skilled in nonmagical healing.

But a hierophant might be nice.

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

We could either add another from the recruitment, or I could submit one, though in that case we may lose the frontline :D

It is up to Big OM I guess.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

I have a wand of CLW, that I can use without Use Mag Device, being a Ranger

I am only including 4 players in this, so no more players. I would appreciate if you didn't change characters. Some times it's good to try and play with out a dedicated healer. If you want healing you can follow Elantier's suggestion.

I'll try and get the gameplay thread up tomorrow. In the mean time think about how much if any communication you had with the others during your transportation.

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Reknar would not have been an easy prisoner - his massive strength and DR (mainly to nonlethal damage) would have him trying to make his captor's lives miserable :D

If it is ok with you Big OM, I'll just launch some free form RP, makes things easier to try and get a feeling on what he would say or do - let's assume this say... in the evening, when the convoy stops moving and we (the prisoners) are packed together or something...

Constantly keeping an eye on their captors, Reknar growls, addressing the others as much as speaking to himself - I can't believe I let these runts capture me... I just need an opportunity... If I get my hands around one of those scrawny necks they will regret they have brought me along on this ride!

Turning to the others around him: And what about you boys? How the heck did you get in this mess? My apologies for not having been able to offer any further assistance on that beating back there... Ever since the last time I ripped through the ropes, they've got me pretty securely tied up, but I have been working these knots, and soon... He lets the thought drop, murder in his eyes.

With a little more attention, you can see the huge man's arms straining against the ties binding him. Cloaked in heavy fur, and packing a massive frame around 7' tall, this one has been half muttering, half shouting insults and threats at the ones holding you captive - his brown hair is disheveled, and his face shows the results of the multiple blows he has received due to his attitude, but surprisingly enough, he seems to shrug off most of them away...

In spite of the captivity, the dark brown eyes show him to be very much alive, and sometimes a clear spark of murderous rage seems to shine through, but so far he has only managed to headbutt one of your assailants, promptly crushing his nose, and causing a profuse bleeding.

Any theories on what these bastards are planning to do with us?

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Joran raises his eyebrows at Reknar's bulging muscles.

"Ride it out, lad. Ride it out. We'll have an opportunity. Won't be starvin' anytime soon."

Like the savage, Joran had been beaten a few times by their captors. Unlike Reknar's, the wounds inflicted had been bad enough. But Joran seems to have shrugged off the pain, if not the blow. He remains mostly quiet in the corner, just watching the day's events.

His eyes indicate more of a thoughtful, fiercely independent force, with a keen interest in their circumstances.

"As to what they're plannin', I'd reckon they're wantin' to sacrifice us to their witch-queen. Good eatin'? Who can say?"

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

I think I'm ready to go. Big OM?

I think all of you are ready, so I have opened the gameplay thread. Get over there and start running. Let me know what environmental protection you have and how your food situation is.

Thankfully you all seem to be protected from the hazards of the cold.

Fair warning I am going to use the rules for starvation, thirst and cold throughout this campaign, so now is the time to change anything if needed.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Whups, had somehow messed up skills. Have fixed.

Would *love* to spend some of that remaining gold on food, but it just doesn't fit with the backstory.

I understand, How about you salvaged something from the ship, could that be a possibility? Just don't go overboard.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

We're all just too polite, aren't we.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

Yep

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Now we are moving! Let's GO! :D

I get an update in tomorrow, I have had an exam take up some time.

@ Rabe, Reading the spell and in extension the ability it states that no protection from natural hazards is granted save the temperature effects. I do not see the snow blinding as a result of the temperature but a result of the reflection of sunlight. Let me hear your take on the problem.

There are two DC because on is for all, the other is for the designated guide.

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

If by "@ Rabe" you mean "@Reknar" then I would say I agree with you :D

I also think that the extreme endurance should only be about temperature related effects.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Hey guys,
I'm going to be much less available for the next three days-ish as I am off getting married. In the likely event that I'm off before Z is up again please bot Zorariel.

strategy:

Assuming he's got bane his rapier is at +4 to hit +4+2d6 damage (for +9 to hit, 2d6+3 damage)
Swift action he'll spend a mythic to magic strike (burning arcane strike) (+6, +6d6 fire) then scorching rays (+4, +4d6 fire).

If he gets another action before being engaged he'll cast Mage Armour. With two he'll cast Resist Energy: cold.

If he starts taking more than 50% damage he'll back off and scorching ray or burning hands the opposition.

He'll use foresight each round, keeping anything 11 or higher for an attack, unless he knows he needs higher to hit (eg misses with a 13, doesn't keep anything 13 or less)

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

WHOA!!! BIG CONGRATS there Zorariel - make the best of it :D

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

Yeah defiantly, congratulations. Your life is about to change forever ;)

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Congratulations.

Congratulations, best of luck to the two of you.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Thanks :)

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Sorry guys, am back. Just checking before I roll: did Zorariel get the haste off before the winter wolf attack? The +1 reflex save could be important - especially given I saw a bunch of 16s.

I believe you spend a mythic point to get the action to cast it so yes. Are all included?

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

5 targets should cover us all, as long as we were within 30ft

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

So - what leather-based goods are we looking for?
A tent? Cold weather gear? A sled? They're going to be rough-cured, so we might want to make this mostly temporary goods...

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Regarding the skins, I would try to preserve them as best as possible - maybe they can be used as barter further along.

AS to the meat, simply cook it to make it last longer.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

I would say a "tent", at least a covering. You could sew the two together. I think Elantier has needle and thread, but you could always make a bone needle and sinew for thread. That way we have a "pelt tarp" that we can use in different ways.

EDIT.. Checked inventory, I do have needle, thread, and twine. Still like the sinew, just for the flavor.
