Whew! Previous post has a lot of post-post editing!
@DOM: That save does indeed break the spell; you can remove the spoilers if you'd like.
Domitius aka Dukkan
Dom tries to immediately strike down the cultist next to him, but the sudden nature of his freedom causes his swing to go wide, despite his careful assessment of the woman.
Falcata (PA): 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 2 = 12
Falcata damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 2 = 18
I'll throw a Studied Target on the cultist I engaged. Jesse, I think I got your dice. :) Sorry GM, I'd have un-spoilered the previous post but I'm in and out today, it's Younger Son's Birthday.
T'chazzar
DM, did you roll to penetrate T'chazzar's spell resistance, as noted previously?
GM Silversong
DM, did you roll to penetrate T'chazzar's spell resistance, as noted previously?
Oops--forgot to report that. Yeah, I went back and added a roll for it...the only good roll in the batch. But keep reminding me--that's definitely a GMing blind spot for me.
Arani Thorindal
Arani takes a single step back, focusing entirely on the woman coming from the room in front of her, and sending an arrow through the open door.
Bullseye shot* VS Cultist 5: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
T'chazzar
Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
T'chazzar remains paralyzed.
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
T'chazzar finds his situation growing critical: He fails to throw off the paralysis gripping him and the changelings have him flanked. The two nearest potential rescuers--Davina and Falina--have their own battles against hold person spells to win before they'll be able to come to his aid. Elsewhere, Viroleth's spell helps Dom break his paralysis, but the half-orc's attack fails to connect with the badly-wounded changeling in the same room. Only Arani has a bit of success, one of her arrows opening up a cut on her foe's arm.
DAVINA and FALINA are still up this round, but first they have to succeed on a DC 13 Will save or be paralyzed as well.
Davina Eradon
Will with Inspiration 2 uses: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 5 + (6) = 18
Davina just glares a the enemy, as she shakes of the spell. "Nice try." And then she studies her target and stabs.
Masterwork Silver, Studied Target: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
Masterwork Silver, Studied Target: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Masterwork Silver, Studied Target: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Falina
Falina was quite pleased that her spell took effect and heard the outrage of some of the other changelings at their "sisters" falling into Falina's power. She knew there were definite limits to what she could get the charmed woman to do for her but she knew she could make use of her. It was then Falina felt the magic come upon her and her body to stiffen.
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Falina tried to resist it but she was too late a she felt her body stiffen and seize up.
Oh Falina is pissed off now.
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
Falina joins the ranks of paralyzed Ravens, and Davina has to dig deep to avoid joining the club as well. The aasimar follows up her last attack with another successful stab, leaving her foe bloody and barely upright.
The last uninjured changeling (save the one Falina charmed) surveys the battlefield; seeing Falina also held she tells the other cultist flanking T'chazzar, "Swiftly! Tear this one to pieces! If he still lives when we're done, he'll make a fine sacrifice to our Lady!" That said, she drops her wand and net, revealing that the items were held in rather sharp claws. Both rip into the drow, causing decent damage (12 points damage) but--from the look of frustration on the changeling's face--not as much as she'd hoped for. Arani's foe again tries to paralyze the archer with her wand. Dom's foe does likewise, but she also steps back near the east wall, fiddling with a section of it.
ARANI and DOMITIUS again need to roll a DC 13 Will save (this time with a +2 bonus, thanks to Viroleth's spell).
VIROLETH is up before three more changelings kick off Round 3.
Changeling Cultist #1 claw #1 (flanking, vs. helpless): 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 + 4 = 22 for bludgeoning, slashing damage plus SA: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (3) = 6
Changeling Cultist #1 claw #2 (flanking, vs. helpless): 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 + 4 = 20 for bludgeoning, slashing damage plus SA: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (1) = 6
Domitius aka Dukkan
Will: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19
Dom scowls at the woman. "Not this time, koldunya," he snarls, as he tries to figure out what she's doing to the wall.
If I can figure out what she's up to, and you need a Perception roll, either LMK or feel free to roll my +7 for me.
GM Silversong
1. Activating/deactivating a trap;
2) Trying to open a secret door or compartment on the wall.
Dom Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
You're 99.97% sure she's fiddling with some sort of trap mechanism!
T'chazzar
Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
The clawing and raking is apparently enough to get T'chazzar moving again, barely.
Viroleth Sastan
Viro looks around implacably as a steel hulk while his heart pounds out of his chest. Seeing T'chazzar shake off the spell, he decides to just make himself a target and quickly moves in to start chopping down foes. His steel armour pounding into the ground he moves to a flank before swinging out with a wicked backhand.
"RAGATHIEL!"
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Crit!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Hell yes. Attacking Cultist #1.
Arani Thorindal
The magic takes a stronger hold this time, Arani can feel her muscles beginning to stiffen, but the added blessing of Viroleth's spell boosts her just enough to barely push through it. The veil hides her sneer, but the burning hatred in her eyes is unmistakable to the witch pointing the wand at her as she fires a pair of arrows into the woman at blinding speed.

RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
Oops! A couple people jumped the gun a bit posting actions, but I'll work them in as Round 3 actions.
The changeling charmed by Falina does her best to protect the paralyzed sorceress, all the while yelling for both sides to cease fighting. She lets out a strangled scream of horror, however, when Viroleth strides into the midst of the conflict, swings his sword, and promptly beheads one of her sisters-in-arms. (On the bright side, the headless corpse still retains both its arms, for what that's worth.)
The sudden death of their leader takes the fight out of the remaining cultists. The one still threatening T'chazzar digs a small vial from her belt pouch, raises it to her lips, and then vanishes from sight. (I marked the square she was last in with the designation '3?') Davina's foe tries to do the same but the aasimar's ready for her, running her through with her trusty rapier. (I used her first Opportune Parry and Riposte for the attack and damage rolls for the AoO.)
T'chazzar fights off the hold person spell affecting him and finds himself no longer threatened (unless the changeling who turned invisible is still nearby). Meanwhile, despite dodgy visual conditions caused by Viroleth (and the light source he bears) repositioning, Arani puts two arrows into her foe, removing another enemy from the fight.
DOMITIUS, DAVINA, and FALINA (still held) are up in Round 3.
INITIATIVE ORDER: Combat Round 3 (Bolded may act/post)
Changeling Cultists (Group 2)

Arani 20% Miss Chance Attack #2: 1d100 ⇒ 90
Domitius aka Dukkan
Dom steps in the room after his target, but the close quarters and some lingering paranoia over what the woman might have been doing with the wall causes his attack to be a bit off.
Modifiers are Studied Target, and some damned cold dice! :)
Falcata (PA): 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 = 14
Falcata damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 2 = 12
Falina
Held as she was Falina was royally ticked off. She was going to find the one who did this to her and introduce the b$*** to her whip! She continued to struggle against the spell as she tried to break through it with sheer anger.
will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
While Falina fights off the hold person spell affecting her, Dom tries to take down the badly-wounded cultist he's battling, but she seems to zig every time he zags, somehow dodging what would likely be an instant death. The changeling uses her wand against Dom again before throwing open a secret door in the back wall and trying to make an escape!
DOM: Another DC 13 Will save (at +2) vs. the wand. If you succeed, you get an AoO on the changeling as she flees.
I've delayed DAVINA; she'll now act in the same mini initiative block as VIROLETH. Both are now up!
Domitius aka Dukkan
Will save: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 23
Falcata AoO (PA): 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 2 = 26
Falcata damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 = 11
"Nyet!" Domitius fights off the woman's efforts to bespell him again, and when she tries to run, it provides the opening he needs to strike her down.
Viroleth Sastan
Sorry I missed this!
Viro takes a moment to look down at the beheaded body, muttering a quick prayer to his avenging angel before he spins around to see Dom swing brutally down on the fleeing cultist. He quickly rushes over to try and close the distance.
Just a double move - unsure if she's still alive or not at this point and nothing I can do at range in one round. This will trigger AoO
GM Silversong
Yeah, Dom ended her. As a general rule, I try to update the Roll20 map even when I haven't addressed an action on the MB. A red X through a token means 'dead or dying;' red tint means an enemy is injured.
Feel free to change your actions if you want.
I'll likely bot Davina if we don't hear from her overnight.
And no AoO: Falina's charmed cultist has a wand in one hand and a ranged weapon (net) in the other.
Viroleth Sastan
Viro takes a moment, hesitating once Dom cuts down a cultist. He scans the room, looking for the invisible cultist.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Unable to tell much, he moves over to the charmed cultist as the most likely target and gets ready to attack.
Readied: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Readied action to attack if an enemy is in range. Not muich good against invisible opponents.
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
Dom fights off the wand's paralyzing effect even as Viroleth comes to his aid. The beleaguered cultist is cut down by Dom's falcata as she attempts to make her escape down the secret passageway, which Dom and Viro can see ends at another apparent wall. Davina stands her ground, likely readying an attack should she detect the location of the invisible cultist.
SILVER RAVENS are up!
QUICK NOTE: Actively making a Perception checks (such as when searching for something/someone) is a move action.
T'CHAZZAR: I missed something earlier; the changelings have the bleeding attack +1 rogue talent, so you'll need a bit of healing to stop that damage from occuring in future rounds.
INITIATIVE ORDER: Combat Round 4 (Bolded may act/post)
Changeling Cultist #3 (-9 hp; SoF +2; invisible)
Domitius (44/44; PfE)
Arani (40/40; PfE)
T’chazzar (22/34; bleed 1)
Falina (26/26; mage armor)
Davina (25/35; diseased)
Viroleth (38/38; PfE)
Changeling Cultist #3 Stealth Check (invisible): 1d20 + 1 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 20 = 25
Domitius aka Dukkan
Dom drags the bed out of the room in which he cut down the cultist, closes the door, and leans the bed against the door.
"Block the doors."
I took the liberty of free-handing a shape over the door I wish to block. In subsequent rounds I'll proceed to do that to the other exits unless she reappears. I'm hoping it'll take her long enough to clear the doorway that we can cut her down before she gets through.
T'chazzar
T'chazzar sheathes one of his short swords to free up a hand, which he claps over one of his wounds.
Lay on hands: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3) = 14
Standard to sheathe weapon, swift to lay on hands on self, move action to draw again.
Arani Thorindal
Arani waits, perfectly still, arrow nocked as she awaits any sign of movement that would indicate the invisible woman.
Held action to shoot when I have an idea where she is.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
T'chazzar takes a few moments to heal the bleeding wounds left by the changeling's claws. Meanwhile, Dom barricades the door to the room with the secret passage in it. The invisible cultist won't be able to slip through that exit easily...though the action creates a lot of noise, making it more difficult for Arani to pinpoint the invisible woman's location by sound. The archer's eyes remain sharp as ever, but she spies no sign of her quarry, no doors opening or shutting or the like.
FALINA, DAVINA, and VIROLETH are still up.
Arani Thorindal
Total is 29....31 if native outsider....33 if human...had to step away before finishing the post

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Total is 29....31 if native outsider....33 if human...had to step away before finishing the post
Thanks for the update. 29 was what I went with before figuring in modifiers for distance and the like.
Falina
What happened to the charmed one?
GM Silversong
What happened to the charmed one?
She's still standing near Falina, looking rather shell-shocked.
Arani Thorindal
Good thing I remembered too, I almost shot her as the only viable target
Viroleth Sastan
Deciding he's best used to just patch people up, Viro makes his way over to T'Chazzar to quickly chant a spell.
CMW: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 8) + 7 = 19
Burning grace for a cure moderate wounds to heal up T'Chazzar.
Davina Eradon
Davina listens carefully for anyone moving about. She moves over to where she thinks other exit doors might be.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (13) + 9 + (1) = 23
T'chazzar
Deciding he's best used to just patch people up, Viro makes his way over to T'Chazzar to quickly chant a spell.
[dice=CMW]2d8+7
Burning grace for a cure moderate wounds to heal up T'Chazzar.
Viro, my lay on hands already healed me up - you can take a different action!
Falina
With the other changelings dealt with or fled Falina turned to the charmed one and noted her shell-shocked look. She knew the spell was near the breaking point and some quick action was needed to prevent her from breaking the magic's hold. Falina flipped her whip around her waist as she turned to the changeling.
"I am sorry this happened, I really didn't want to fight them, but they weren't willing to stand down and talk and insisted on attacking my friends." She approached slowly, her hands at her wide and her hips swishing, "I'm sure you can understand their," she gestured towards her companions, "actions were totally in self defense."
Falina reached a hand out to gently cup the changeling's face and said, "Why don't you and I go into one of these rooms and sit for a minute or two." She worked on trying to guide the changeling woman to one of the rooms to have a seat.
Opposed Cha if needed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
diplomacy if needed: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Viroleth Sastan
I'll change that to a cure light wounds on Davina. So using the first die at 1d8+5 she heals 9 points.
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
Davina moves to block (more or less) the obvious exit from the chamber. Meanwhile, Viroleth moves to her side and heals most of her wounds. Falina manages to lure the charmed cultist into the nearest room to the south, though the changeling seems reluctant to leave her fallen sisters to perish. She asks Falina to spare her downed friends and heal them before they bleed out.
Arani prepares to unleash an arrow should the invisible changeling give away its position, but that doesn't happen.
SILVER RAVENS are up in Round 5.
INITIATIVE ORDER: Combat Round 5 (Bolded may act/post)
Changeling Cultist #3 (-9 hp; SoF +2; invisible)
Domitius (44/44; PfE)
Arani (40/40; PfE)
T’chazzar (34/34)
Falina (26/26; mage armor)
Davina (34/35; diseased)
Viroleth (38/38; PfE, light)
Changeling Cultist #2 Opposed Charisma Check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Falina
Falina considered the request, she didn't like the thought of letting their attackers live, or at least going out of their way to save them, but she thinks they do need information and this might be a way to get it. Falina gestured for the changeling to sit on the bed and then went to the door and said, "My friend here asks that your please stabilize, feel free to tie them up afterwards just in case." With her back to the changeling she mouthed "bring me some rope in a few minutes".
Bluff secret message if needed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Falina closed the door most of the way, leaving it opened just a crack and went to sit down to the left of her new friend. Her right arm reached out and went around the woman's shoulder and she said, "It'll be alright my friend. You know it's been a while since we last saw each other, and it was a delightful time we had, but I only know realized I never got your name. Truthfully I'm just glad that I recognized your face as that evening is rather hazy anymore."
Bluff to fabricate a story if needed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Domitius aka Dukkan
Dom steps to the side, blocking the stairwell from which the Ravens entered the room. Catching the eye of the new fellow, he gestures with his head toward Davina and the wide corridor she's attempting to cover.
"Please help Sudarynya." Dom's stomach tightens at the thought of leaving that to someone else but this man at least seems pretty capable.
I guess what I want to do is ready an action: if I see the stuff blocking the door get disturbed, attack that square. Ideally, she can't one-shot me, so if she tries to get past me up the stairway, she gives away her location. Then it's just a matter of the two of you plugging that double-doorway up top.
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
Dom continues to do his best to block potential escape routes while Falina leads her charmed 'friend' into one of the southern rooms, mouthing that she'll need some rope soon, presumably to tie the changeling up. There is no sign of the invisible cultist.
ARANI, T'CHAZZAR, DAVINA, and VIROLETH are still up.
Secret: 1d20 ⇒ 18
T'chazzar
T'chazzar keeps his swords in hand and says, "Who has rope? I don't."
GM Silversong
DOM: Roll me a Perception check, please.
GM Silversong
Nothing new catches Dom's eye.
Viroleth Sastan
At the request of the changeling to heal her sisters, Viro curses inwardly. He speaks up, his voice ringing hollowly from his helmet.
"Tell your sister to reveal herself and surrender and we will spare her life. I will demonstrate our good will and prevent your sisters who still breathe from dying. If she chooses to take revenge, there will be more lives lost. That is not necessary."
Viro looks for the changeling who seems the closest to death and moves over to cast a stabilize spell.
Not sure where the bodies are so just position me wherever.
GM Silversong
RUINS OF THE LUCKY BONES {Changeling Battle} (26 Gozran)
Viroleth moves to the changeling dropped by Davina and stabilizes her with a spell. The charmed changeling, for her part, calls out for her invisible sister to surrender, but there's no response as yet.
ARANI: Please roll a Perception check.
ARANI, T'CHAZZAR, and DAVINA are still up. I'll likely bot folks who haven't posted by Saturday.
