The Gardens Below is beautiful, in spite of the derros’ destruction. Tropical leaf succulents thrive in the humid atmosphere. Dense trees grow to incredible heights to escape the tangle of underbrush.
Paths wander in shadow throughout much of the garden. Two creek-stone paths lead from the base of the Descending Steps.

You see something tied to the bridge ahead. It seems to be squirming!
brvheart
A small bridge crosses the brook from the falls. Scratch marks are
evident on the railings from derro sharpening their weapons against
the wood and stone. A small humanoid is tied to the outside rail and gagged.
Hagrym
"Well, let's go see what's waiting on us. Any bets on if it's a rogue derro, or something else," the paladin asks as he moves forward to inspect the tied creature.
Naomi Chadwick
'Is it really a Halfling, or is it a sneaky derro plot?' Naomi follows Turvijagal, resting a hand on his arm, "Wait Turvijagal, how do we know it's not a trick." Turning to the "Halfling" Naomi looks at his cloths and demeanor to verify he's telling the truth and as, "If your a really a Halfling, what town are you from and what's their favorite pipe weed?"

Tolbold Cotton
Tolbold takes a big breath as his gag is removed and says, "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! It was hard to breath with that gag in. My name is Tobold Cotton and I am in your debt. I was part of a caravan when these creatures grabbed my and tied me here. They really didn't like the things I had to say so they left me here." Tolbold lets out a big sigh at this point.
brvheart
Tolbold, all your gear is ramshackled and spread out along the bank.
Ulfgard Strongarm
Looking down at the halfling Ulfgard smiles. "Well, it seems you are one fine lucky hobbit, you can bet your hairy feet that they just wanted to get you a bit tender! But alas, you are more or less alive, which is a good start."
Tolbold Cotton
Tobold shakes his arms and legs and flaps them around he then walks over to the bank and starts picking up items. "It looks like they left most of my stuff here, though they did run off with all my finished jewellery I had made. I guess they like shiny things. I've a few odd materials left to make a few more things but other than that I'm outta business for now it looks like."
Tobold looks glum for a moment then he looks to the group, "Thank you! Thank you all I mean it. Is there some way I can help you? I've got nothing going on now..."
Naomi Chadwick
Naomi watched and listened, smiling when the little guy started flapping around. Going to the bank and helping him pick up his stuff, Handing him items to put in his pack. "A pleasure to meet you Tolbold." bowing slightly as she introduces herself. "I am Naomi originally from Bards gate, now an itinerant Minstrel." Calling her mandolin from the ether playing a few cords and then releasing it, smiling. Pointing to the large female half orc "And she is Uthala." Then sweeping with her arm "And they are the boys!" Still smiling, "They all have various and nefarious skills." Winking at Turv. "So before we sign you on, what skills do you bring to the table?"
Tolbold Cotton
"Skills you say...hmmm well I make really nice jewelry but I don't suppose that's what you mean. I know a bit about magic and magical creatures and I am pretty handy with acid. I'd have burned some of these derro but the caught me by surprise." Tobold stammers out.
brvheart
Yes, that is all you have seen Tolbold, Derro but it seemed like a number of them.
Tolbold Cotton
"And it was just one or two of them. There was a large number of them. I'm just glad they didn't kill me. Again thank you all. Who knows what they might have done if they came back." Tobold quickly says as he tightens down this backpack. "I'm good to go now though.", he says after drinking from a flask.
brvheart
There are no traps on the bridge. Up ahead is a garden by a lake.
Ulfgard Strongarm
Looking around Ulfgard gives himself a long moment to breath in the scenery. It has been a long journey full of perils, but this moment he offers a quick prayer of thankfullness to Dwerfeter, knowing full well that those moments are to be treasured.

Statues depicting seductive and passionate scenes bordering on hedonism are plentiful. The garden surrounds
Adoration Lake, which is shallow and clear, containing a few islands linked by a series of wooden bridges.

There are wooden bridges without rails connect several small islands. Each island contains a gazebo, with a bench or swing under the roof.
Turvijagal
* gasp! *
A GAZEBO?!
Sorry, couldn't help it. But, anyway …
"Might as well try the path on the left"
Turvijagal moves to the path to his left (right on the map) to have a closer look
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

Naomi nods to Turvijagal's recommendation, and follows along with the rest of the group.
Naomi will stay in the middle, but I assume we are all sticking together, but we need to say so one way or the other.
do we need to go to some type of "three person" rule? If three people go along and no on disagrees by the third person then we do it.
