Sorry for my delay. But I'ts been a brutal few days. I sort of need to be blunt. On Friday, June 9th, my father tried to kill himself. I'm the only close relative to him and so I've been dealing with that. It's been difficult to say the least.

I'm going to be getting back to my games a little slowly. But I do plan on coming back. Because frankly I need RPGs, especially now. I beg your forgiveness and ask for a little patience as I settle back in.

As a sufferer of endemic depression, I know what it's like to feel close to the edge. I wish you all the best with your father.
Hopefully you can find the cause and work to relieve it. I know the main thing that keeps me going is the responsibility for my kids, once they're grown up I can see it being that much harder.

You're right. It says that you have advantage on strength checks and strength skill checks. I just assumed that meant attack rolls too. Just ignore my 2nd roll then and I'll fix it going forward.

I think the basic idea is for when one character gets high enough, they would secure a rope, so the others could roll with advantage.

Short Rest: A character can spend one or more Hit Dice at the end of a short rest, up to the character's maximum number of Hit Dice, which is equal to the character's level. For each Hit Die spent in this way, the player rolls the die and adds the character's Constitution modifier to it. The character regains hit points equal to the total. The player can decide to spend an additional Hit Die after each roll.

At the end of a long rest, a character regains all lost hit points. The character also regains spent Hit Dice, up to a number of dice equal to half of the character's total number of them. For example, if a character has eight Hit Dice, he or she can regain four spent Hit Dice upon finishing a long rest.

Edit: And I don't think Reishi has taken damage yet. Kag had the worst of it.

Yeah, it feels like poor Kag has been brutally unlucky since this adventure started.

Will our Paladin and Barbarian avail themselves of the sweet gear?

• breastplate x4 [medium, 400 gp, AC 14+DEX (max 2), No disadvantage on stealth]
• half-plate [medium, 750 gp, AC 15+DEX (max 2), Disadvantage on stealth]
• battleaxes x4
• silvered battleaxe (110 gp)

The way I see it, we're not in a position to haul out 5 suits of armor unless one of the mage folks have Tenser's Floating Disk ready to go. But we can do the following.

Kag takes the half-plate, that'll raise his AC to 17. And Reishi can take one of the breastplates. His AC stays the same, and he takes no penalty to his stealth. But now he has an item worth about 8 times his studded leather. And if he were so inclined he could bequeath his old studded leather to his new best friend Zeroks to help my AC. :: bats eyelashes ::

Not sure who should carry the silvered battleaxe though. It doesn't do extra damage, but silver can be used to hurt certain monsters with resistance. So it's good to have as a backup at least. Not to mention the 110 gp value.

I would still recommend that you take a breastplate. Your AC will remain exactly the same (14 + DEX (2) + Shield (2) = 18). But you'll have an item you can sell later for a not insignificant amount of gold. And the studded leather is light enough to justify carrying it with you. But carrying spare breastplates gets goofy without a Bag of Holding.

Also breastplates do not affect your stealth at all.

As for Kag -- well, if you have a story or aesthetic reason why you want to stick with your current armor, I totally respect that. But, otherwise, what harm could it do to have a couple free points of AC? :-)

Oh, and Kag, when you say take a battleaxe do you mean the Silvered One?

Are we sticking it out in the room for a long rest? None of my spells or healing abilities are replenished by a short rest. I'll move on if the rest of the group wants to but we may want to re-up my healing. Thoughts?
