Hedra, takes Idhira from Ryster's hand and show it to the haunt.
Using Aroden's tongues she speaks to the dead spirit.
Isirah! Despite all your best effort, you are dead. Millenia have past since it. But, you were able to save your soul inside this strange device.
Stop being angry, your mission is done. You have done what you had hope, survived your death to be able to save knowledge. Your mission here is over.
Your need to protect this place has no more purpose. We have you, and we will protect you.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39 +5 with Yandu's spell
Ryster Demarkarios |
Ryster starts to protest when Hedra takes the crystal, but quickly swallows it, as Hedra begins to eloquently speak to the haunt. Merely nodding, he clears his throat. "Yeah, what she said...."
Diplo Aid: 1d20 ⇒ 16
GM Phoenix Kyten |
Even if it's just aid I do need the party to attempt a check, it determines what happens with shade-Isirah. Like I need people to roll that haven't, it can be before your actions.
Yanndu |
Yanndu's aid is by casting telempathic projection to give +5 to Hedra, as he knows better to try to talk about... ANYTHING! lol However if the module mechanics require a diplomacy aid, I'll roll one just in case.
"The human female is accurate. You have adequately fulfilled your purpose. You are a redundant duplicate version of the correct original version of Isirah, which we have here. We have verified that the original version is still functional. Deactivate and cease your parasitic control of all systems you have been affecting."
Yanndu Diplomacy Aid: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Draa Faer |
Draa nods in agreement to his allies... a fireball spell resting on his lips.

Favian Aldori |
Not sure how that would actually work since Favian turned invisible and isn't giving away his location by talking but...
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 19
GM Phoenix Kyten |
"Please I... we.... survived, I can tell them all about the places we've seen, the things we know. You can...move on... we survive at least." Isirah's AI Core begs the shade as you hold her up to it.
The Haunt Isirah seems frustrated and conflicted, and gases seep from the chamber around you and form into three elemental forms.

GM Phoenix Kyten |
The damage mostly goes through the stalker that Ryster hits, only slightly being less effective.
Stalker B (green) does not like being hit for what it thinks is a lot of damage, and moves forward to use it's breath weapon.
Reflex-Ryster: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20 Saves for 1/2 - 10
Reflex-Hania: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Reflex-Draa: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Saves for 1/2 - 10

Reflex-Draa: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Damage (chemical burn-acid): 1d10 ⇒ 7
Reset: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Chemical Burn works like burn, but instead of fire damage it's acid damage. "Those affected by the burn ability must also succeed on a Reflex save or catch fire, taking the listed damage for an additional 1d4 rounds at the start of its turn. The chemical burn persists for multiple rounds, just as a normal burn, but can be ended early if the affected creature is doused in at least 1 gallon
of liquid (requiring a full-round action from the victim or another creature) or fully submerges itself in water.
If you all have any other resistances to acid, feel free to take that off your damage.
Stalker C will move up and use it's breath weapon as well.

Yanndu then stares down towards the stalker A and applies his mind powers unto it:
Standard Action; Mind Thrust IV undercast to Mind Thrust III (Will Save DC 19 for half damage): 10d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 1, 1, 4, 8, 8, 5, 3, 4) = 45 damage.
GM Phoenix Kyten |
what does the damage mean by acid/poison - draa is immune to poison
It's listed as acid and poison damage with no separation between them. Reading their original source (which is another module), its acid damage with a possible inhaled poison, and think this is scriveners error in the scenario. I'd take it as acid damage, and life bubble is neutralizing the poison as well as your immunity to it.

Yanndu |
Before this battle Yanndu passed his Wand of Gust of Wind to Draa since Favian made no use of it during the last battle. Also, here's the next few rounds' worth of action for Yanndu in case things accelerate while I'm out with the fam tomorrow - please pick the target that makes the most sense (feel free to bot me otherwise as the situation demands)
Round2:
Standard Action; Mind Thrust IV: 10d8 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 4, 6, 4, 4, 6, 4, 5) = 42 damage and fatigued for 1 round. (Will Save DC 20 for half damage and no fatigue)
Round3:
Standard Action; Mind Thrust IV: 10d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 2, 3, 1, 3, 6, 1, 5, 1) = 33 damage and fatigued for 1 round. (Will Save DC 20 for half damage and no fatigue)

Both Stalkers take the damage, physical damage does not seem as effective as it should be, but the reduction is minor.

Should Favian and Ryster act or is something happening at the end/beginning of the round?

GM Phoenix Kyten |
At this point you all cannot die while some one does the last 7 points of damage to the last one. -- I know a few of you mentioned needing these characters for the special starting tomorrow.
Once the last one has been taken down various monitors around this room spring to life, those who can translate, and AI Isirah will also translate for others. There is now a 90 second countdown before the fail-safes in this area fail.
This allows you enough time to get out of the area, but not do any further investigating. Let me know if for some reason your staying. Once your back into the initial opening of the gulch, you notice the winds pushing at your back and can see the area filling with the same types of acid as the stalkers but not sentient (this is not a giant elemental, though you get the feeling that is what she had planned to become with more time/knowledge).
You do have enough time to conceal or deal with any of the items that you have found along the way.
I do need know how you are dealing with the tech and AI Isirah and the Ghost Wolves.
Option A) have all items in packs, and bluff/diplomacy
Option B) have all items in packs, and bribe Jala (copying a complete spellbook on the way back is possible, and auto success)
Option C) hand over all tech for destruction - including Isirah (some of you may have alignment issues with this one)
If I can hear from at least half the party with either option A/B or C we will go with that route.
Favian Aldori |
Favian's one social skill is Intimidate, so option B would be his preferred though he is not against option A if someone else wants to lead that route.
Draa Faer |
Hania would suggest a hybrid option. Hand over all tech but Isirah to the Ghost Wolves as a show of good faith, with Isirah openly carried, and plead/intimidate/bribe/etc. as group chooses.
I agree with this idea.
Yanndu |
C - Yanndu wants to see all tech destroyed. He will stay silent during negotiations, but by virtue of telepathy, everyone knows he hates Isirah and what she represents to his Pharasmin philosophy. Death/Rebirth is ok, but anything that creates artificial immortal intelligence is iffy, especially if said immortal AI finds a way to harvest/gain/hijack a soul for itself, as that soul would thereby find itself out of the stream of the River of Soul i.e. tantamount to undeath in Pharasma's eyes, based on Yanndu's own interpretation.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Having no understanding of technology (no technologist feat) Hedra considers Isirah device as a place holder for her soul. She can't let her stay forever inside and hope that going back to the Society she could be able to save her soul.
So I'm with Hania. No keeping of tech but trying to convince Jala to let them keep Isirah.
