"We're putting the band back together!"
"We're on a mission from God."
With the move complete and work settled down, I'm considering restarting the PBP, if there's interest. Former players will of course automatically retain their seats, if they choose to participate; you can keep your former character or start a new one if you want. If only some of the original players reply, there may be openings for some new people.
Let me know what you think! (Disregard old link above)

Kirth Gersen |

Alice -- if the original people are continuing, they're a rag-tag group of misfits along the Estren frontier, getting in over their heads and somehow managing to get themselves out again. So far they've stopped a goblin attack on a town and an assassination attempt on a duke, mostly through luck and perseverence, with some LOLZ along the way. Current location is the city of Kaisersburg (the only "city" worth the name on the frontier), deciding what they want to do next.
They had just reached 4th level when we discontinued; stats are either 4d6 drop lowest or 15-point buy. If you roll lousy, you can take the elite/heroic array instead.

Kirth Gersen |

OK, so Jaegr, Cricket, and Kelgan are hanging in town, drinking on the duke's nickel. Caspian is no doubt off getting into mischief somewhere; Wyvurn may be keeping an eye on him, or may be off on errands of his own. And there are at least a couple of interesting-looking people in the tavern, because cliches are cliched for a reason, and "you meet interesting people in a bar" is a tried and true gimmick, especially if a bar fight breaks out...

Cricket the Sexy Goblin Druid |

[On the duke's nickel, Cricket drinks heavily. He eats and drinks and eats and drinks some more. He goes from bar to bar, sniffing the air and making Perception checks 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 looking for holy Tuelvi smoke. Then he drinks some more, and, with some of the duke's coin, heads back to the bathhouses. He returns when the party is ready to go, hungover, sheepish, and smiling.]

Oh dear, goblins are doing it in the streets of Aviona as well? ;)
Let me think on this for a while. There are plenty of oddball character concepts I'd love to play because they're actually viable in Kirthfinder... haha.
What's the party make-up? I see a druid and two fighters so far. Missing any key roles? Hmm.

vs. DC 10/15/20
Cricket quickly locates "peace pipe tobacco" favored by the Turtle clan; the stuff is all over the place. Continuing his tour of town, he locates some Avionan hallulé, that the high elves prefer... and eventually a small wigwam in a back lot, out of which a Tuelvi medicine woman is drying some of the Sacred Smoke leaves.

OK, the response was a lot faster and more positive than I expected!
Moving onto the Discussion Thread - We can get organized there, then hop over to the game play. I'll work some stuff up over the weekend, and email out the latest rules tonight or tomorrow -- Alice, Helio, I've got your email addresses; Doodle and Freddie, I'm not sure what yours are; David, I had yours at one point but can't seem to put my finger on it.
Also, who prefers a PDF, vs. individual DOCX files?

Trogdar |

Hey there. Just throwing my name into the hopefuls. I have been dying to try out a bard with your system.
*edit* specifically the Skald. Warrior poets are the coolest concept ever... Just saying.
*edit 2* I may require a new copy of the PDF as well. It's been some time, and I believe some of the bard mechanics have changed.

Trogdar |

Trogdar -- I can probably hook you up with the latest pdf, if your email's in the other thread. Might be able to wedge you into the PBP, although it looks like the original players pretty much all claimed their old spots; I'll keep you posted.
Okay, I will remain hopeful.
*goes off to write character backgrounds*

Trogdar |

Just going to roll out my stats here for the bastard of house Talithdal. (It'll help with my write up) :)
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 1) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 1) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 6) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 3) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 4) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 2) = 11
edit: 13,10,12,13,13,9... boosh, what the heck am I going to do with that? Some kinda ninja! clearly....

Wyvurn |

Awesome. Anxious to get Wyvurn under the final pdf rules.
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 2) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 1) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 6) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 1) = 14
So that's 11, 10, 15, 15, 15, 13 Not bad.
I tried rolling comeliness and social status as well and ended up with scores that did not make sense for Wyvurn at all. We'll say Comeliness is a 7 after racial adjustments due to his burned face. Social Status is a crap shoot anyway since we have already done some things to affect that. Wyvurn probably started out as an outlaw.

Wyvurn |

Kirth,
I changed a little with Wyvurn based on the plans I had last time we left off.

Kirth Gersen |

Interesting approach -- becoming the thing you killed! But approved.
The only thing I can't reconcile is your AC; 10 + 4 (Dex) + 2 (Dodge) + 2 (Wis) + 2 (light armor) = 20 (touch 18, flat-footed 14), not 23 (18/23).
Under Senses, you might note "see ethereal 5 ft." due to your 1 rank in Planar Sense.

DMRaven |

Kirth, are you still looking for more players? I'd love the chance to play this game and saw the recruitment thread pop up here again.
If you are, dice rolls
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 6) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 1) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 2) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 3) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 6) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 2) = 17
