Fizzywiddle works with the keys and finally unlocks the chest. You open up the chest and BOOM!!!!! 5d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 4, 3) = 18 fire damage, Reflex Save DC 16 for 1/2 damage. This is for everyone: Vik, Fizzy, Rekka, and Sly.
Once you all recover from the fiery explosion. In the chest you can see gold and gems, with a really big sphere on top. The top of the chest is lined with padding and felt. The sphere appears to be made of crystal or some kind of clear gem.

Rekka Dodge!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
She just makes it out of the way singing her tail and ears and fur, and gives a startled squeal that sounds more like a scared rat than it does any sort of human sound.
She then creeps forward to sniff at the chest and the sphere therein.

He pulls out his healing kit and takes his time with each of you wrapping and soothing your wounds, healing each of you another

Rekka is now at full hit points, Vik is at 17 unless he saved then he is a full, Fizzy the cure light given to Rekka is now given to you... Fizzy you are now at full hit points.
I almost TPK you with a trap! lol, sorry guys.
Fizzy you can tell that the metal chest and the big crystal sphere are magical.

woo hoo full health! Who would have thought we NEED a rogue :) I knew it was trapped but Fizzy does not really think about consequences...that is why he wants Vik and Fionn to plan the attack

"I assume the box is triggered to crispify anyone who opens it thought." That's logical!

No fizzy it does not work that way. She can assume, but then again most the time when they are using detect magic and spellcraft they are assuming most the time.

Yes I did mean it out of character....sorry about that...I was not sure if we had any intel about the bandits...I know some people seemed to have more info than others, so I just wanted to get a baseline as to what we knew about them and their base.

Yes, and that baseline would be great to get if you asked those questions in game, rather than out of game. You SHOULD ask them in game! I will not give you info as the DM for your characters should have any info, or can't remember.

"What do we know about these bandits? Do we have any idea where they are located, their numbers? I know a dragon ate a bunch, so how many escaped and to where did they go? Any information that you may have will be invaluable to us as we try to go forward with a plan."

Captain, I recall that the leader fights with two axes...so barbaric... and is an evil monster. We should be able to hit them early in the morning and surprise them, perhaps even sneak in and take her out asleep

Right now is a bit after dawn.
"Only the dragon knows... oh wait I was there... Hmmm, well I think it got a handful." Sly lifts up one of his hands, lifting one finger at a time, showing five fingers/claws, then he sees the floating baubles. Sly jumps up and grabs the floating baubles.
Was one of them the massive sphere?
The bandit who traveled with you gave some good info, travel to where the tree lines come together in the North, the path should be near. Follow the path going North, it should turn about to head you South. Stay on the path for there are traps in the forest surrounding their camp. There should be about two dozen bandits, but now there are less.

After reviewing the scant information that they had on these bandits, Vik has come up with a tentative plan.
"Since we are not sure of their location, or numbers, we will need to scout the area out first. I suspect either a early morning or early evening attack might be best, as we will be attacking either as they are preparing for sleep, or just getting up. With the thick forest, we should try to close with them quickly, as missile weapons might be hampered by the foliage. Does anyone have anything to add??"

Then he perks up to Vik, "Yes, I go scout some more, bring straglers to you, we meet over there where the tree lines come together." With that he is gone, a hundred miles per hour... ZZZZZiiiiipppppp!!!!!! You are surprised you don't see flames following him.

Fionn is ready to charge with his horse as needed. "I would suggest that I stand out in the open, let any bandits charge at me and you may jump from the tree line near the convergence point."
